It's my very own "I got lucky!" thread

My Kinetics defender had 495 merits from running TFs, so I decided to buy two LotGs. I had heard that crafting enhancements, and then selling those instead of the recipe, is usually far more profitable than selling the recipe. But instead of crafting them both, I decided to see it for myself and sell one crafted, one non-crafted.

I had started to think that I should have just crafted them both, when I logged back on to the character and saw THIS. I had to do about a quintuple take, since I got it for almost four times its previous selling costs...

By the way, that's the most Influence I've ever had. In fact, I believe I only have three characters who have more influence than just the transaction fee on that. So you can see why I wanted to share.

...Now I'm mad I crafted the other one.

Wow, nice.

That's an oddball value, too. Hard to imagine it as a typo.

I was wondering about that, too. I figured they were trying to low-ball and bid 45 million. If that's the case they low-balled too high.

Heh. That's actually a pretty good theory. Sadly, it makes the notion of what they did even more painful.

I really doubt they were trying to lowball down to 24 million, but they could have started there getting ready to bid-creep when typo disaster struck. At any rate, congrats on your good luck.

I think you read it wrong, the bid as 245 million, so they would have been bidding 45 million not 24 million. I only got 224 million because of the transaction fee.

And thank you.

Could have been shooting for 24500000.

Or they could've been going for 25 million and didn't realize they hit both the 4 and 5 keys at the same time.

Congrats ... Hey, how'd you get the Box with your INF and %s in the top left corner of the screen?

You can put the attribute monitor anywhere you want. I think a lot of people just put it top right because that's where HP, End., Xp and etc. are displayed.

Powers tab, upper left hand corner, Combat Attributes. Once you open the Attribute window, right click on any individual attribute and select Monitor to open it a separate window.

Open your powers menu.. Upper bar is the monitor 'button'.. click it and it opens a popup. Inside that you can set a LOT of things to monitor and they create a popup that stays open.

Having purchased many high-end IOs for less than 1/3 typical pricing, I can believe someone was trying to lowball 24M and wait for a fill. I have about 20 outstanding bids blue- and red-side for LotG +7.5% crafted IOs in the 21-34M range. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

[/ QUOTE ]When I do this I get something different then the original poster has up on their screen. I get something that looks like the recipie list. You expand certain items to see how your set bonuses stack up. .... Is there something else that could be this box from the screenshot?

try selecting something and then "monitor said power bonus"

its a great way to observe how effective things are in combat, alot of the cool kids use it to see how much of what is doing what to what.

simple and fun to use!

Wow! You got lucky. I'd say you did alright by crafting the other one, though. I doubt you'ld get 2 of this kind of profit.
