Whats the FOTM pvp build??
Elec/Therm Corruptors and yes, PvP is horrible now.
Inv/DM or WP/DM isn't a bad choice these days if you're going Tanker. Energy isn't what it used to be due to an increase in Energy Transfer's animation time and more importantly, the lack of de-toggling now.
A lot of people say that SS is still top of the heap Tanker wise for secondaries (my guess would be because of KO Blow).
But you may really want to haunt the PvP forums. I gave up on PvP when I saw the changes that were made so my information isn't going to be as good as the people who did it regularly still.
Dark melee?? last time I played DM damage was horrible, did they buff it or something?
Thanks for the info, and yea I seen lots of elec/therm and sonic/therms

Siphon Life got a pretty big bump.
I'm not sure about the rest of the line .... it's damage (number wise) isn't horrible, but the secondary effects (toHit debuff) apparently is one of the larger mitigating factors for PvP (which makes sense).
You also get two heals (Dull Pain and Siphon Life) and an endurance reclamation in Dark Consumption. You have toHit buffs in Invince and obviously Invuln is a tough take down in either PvP or PvE.
I'm personally a big fan of self sustaining combos but if you want to go the larger alpha route then Super Strength, Stone or Axe are probably better bets.
I should really take Kruunch for a spin in RV again. I haven't tried out his new build (a PvE build unfortunately) out since I stuck IOs in them.
What about dark melee/fire armor? 2 heals and 2 end restore powers?

Fire Armor (especially when Healing Flames was changed) was a FOTM build for quite awhile in PvP. I'm not sure it still stands up but I'd think it would be good still.
The downside of Fire Armor of course is that it's the least durable of the Tanker sets. Not sure how that fits in with today's PvP.

I just came back after 1 1/2 years and pvp is so much worse with all the nerfs, everything I have is getting owned by corruptors stalkers and doms.
ok.....
My ice/stone melee used to own but now it can't even kill a corruptor. I stood toe to toe with a sonic thermal and it killed me so fast, the damage I was doing was so poor.
If not a tank what FOTM pvp class is good now? this new pvp system is so horrible =[

How do you reconcile the lack of on-demand toHit buff in Dark Mellee? This is espacially important given the general potency of defense sets in PvP and corresponding gimpiness of resist sets. You WILL face high defense in the majority of Zone and pick-up arena PvP.
I have played DM in PvP and it's pretty awful given the favor of defense toons, elusivity, and having your toHit buff attached to a 10' PBAoE.
Kismet +ToHit? Tactics?
I'm assuming Shadow Maul does big damage like Flurry due to animation activation.
Fire/SS is probably the best. Only real issue is getting knocked back if you don't have that covered with IOs/Acro.
If it's just casual zone PvP my friend has an Invuln brute who does quite well. His secondary is DM, though, so I'm not sure how much the heal has to do with it.
With the way damage calculations changed, DM is actually strong for damage in PvP since you can use stuff like shadow maul. He does have problems with missing unless people crowd around him, though.
Active (Freedom): Setna (Ice/Psi Dom), Arram (WP/KM Tank), Tesmiel (Elec/SS Tank), Astredax (Robot/Dark Mastermind), Operative Vidali (melee fortunata)
Retired (Virtue): Gaav (Inv/EM Tank), Baqra (Fire/SS Tank)

If you are looking to zone or arena you want super strength. Fiery aura is the top set and easy to set up. Invul is a decent choice as is shields but they both require alot more build planning and practice. If you are going to go for straight toe to toe fight clubbing you can add dark melee in, the tohit debuffs are actually pretty decent. Also for epics, stone is pretty much the only choice pvp tanks.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

If I'm serious about PvP I would think my attacks would be well slotted with IOs and I'd have a ton of global accuracy with IO set bonuses (in addition to the smaller benefits of Invincibility).
Having said that, you might be totally right ... but that would apply to any set except SS (i.e. Rage) no?
I am not a die hard pvper and I certainly am not a member of the elite pvp but I know a bit about it.
My advice for right now is to play what you got and hold off on investing anything in a pvp build. PvP seems to be in a state of massive flux and odds are if you build and io the current FoTM you ll be cursing the next issue.
Thats just my two cents on the subject.
However from what I have seen and heard elec therm corrupters seem to be on top at the moment. Just a matter of how long that moment will last.
SS and DM seem to be doing well as well.

SS is ideal *coughbrokencough* and anything with BU is adequate.
I have 94% global accuracy on my DM/Elec, at least 60% accuracy socketed in any given attack, and use a Kismet. DM is still garbage against anything with solid defense numbers. You need toHit buff just as badly as ever in PvP-- if not more so due to elusivity. You just don't need as much as before due to diminishing returns, but this value is far more than DM can reliably muster.
Dark Mellee is probably the worst set to PvP with aside from Dual Blades.
Interesting and good to know. Thanks for the heads up
