The 4th dimension?
Errr...why? Why couldn't both Praetoria and the Rikti dimension be on different sides of our dimension? Why would one be below, and one to the side?
Why couldn't it be:
(Praetoria) <---> (Our world) <---> (Rikti)
edit -> also, there are plenty more dimensions that are brought up in the game.
There's a dimension that your alternate self destroyed. There's a dimension that Nemesis took over. There's a dimension that the Council took over (IIRC), etc.
We already have more than 4 Dimensions.

why does the rikti have to be in a different dimension, can't they be in our dimension and simply travewl through space to attack us, that would explain the space ships during the invasions. otherwise they would flood us from portal corp like the praetorians.

Ummm...read the backstory to them. They aren't aliens. They are from a different dimension.

Ahh, I guess that's definitely a point. I forfeit my theory, carry on.

POST IS FULL OF SPOILERS!!!
I recall reading in game that the Rikti Invasion hit Praetorian Earth first accidentally, but quickly retreated (whether due to a superior military response from the Praetorians, or quickly realising they'd hit the wrong place, I don't know). I'll have to look for where exactly, though. But since the Rikti were seeking revenge on the Nemesis Robot versions of the Freedom Phalanx, it makes sense that they'd get confused if they found Praetoria first. Anyway, I've always assumed that the Praetorians themselves found their way to our Earth by following the Rikti's trail, since the Praetorian's first contact (Issue 1) followed the Rikti Invasion (just before release) so closely.

Nope.
AFAIK, the Rikti never encountered Praetorian Earth.
The Rikti Invasion started like so:
1) Nemesis discovers/steals dimensional portal technology. Possibly by having a mole in Dr. Webb's research team.
2) Nemesis creates robotic duplicates of the Freedom Phalanx. He sends the duplicates into the Rikti dimension on skirmishes and attacks, pushing the peaceful Rikti toward an aggressive stance.
3) Nemesis starts a fight with the real Freedom Phalanx. He "escapes" via a portal, but has the portal reset so that instead of following him, the pursuing Phalanx is transported to the Rikti dimension instead.
4) The Rikti assume the the Phalanx have returned and are attacking again, thus they "counter" attack.
5) The Phalanx retreats to Primal Earth. The Rikti follow thus starting the Rikti Invasion.

[/ QUOTE ]Pretty sure you're wrong, and the Rikti did reach Praetorian Earth. But since the Praetorians weren't the "super heroes" that attacked them first, they left Praetorian Earth in peace. I don't recall if they actually made contact or just popped in and left, but they did reach Tyrant's dimension.

The Rikti are at least aware of Praetorian Earth. In Serpent Drummer's arc, Lk'Onik has this to say:
"'Longtime Didn't: Trust Humans.
We Thought: Humans Attacked: First.
Was There: First Attack.
Thousands: Dead. Lost: Everything Important.
Looked like: Freedom Phalanx.
Further Attacks: Dozens.
Finally Traced: Point of Origin.
Thought Justification: Protecting Ourselves.
... : ...
Since then, seen: Freedom Phalanx; Seen: Earth-Heroes.
Phalanx = Attackers: Impossible.
My Theory: Praetorians. Nothing Else: Makes Sense."

Hah. I bet they didn't stay long in Praetoria.
I was recently thinking about our dimensional plains, and was curious if anyone thought about this as well or had anything to add. We have three dimensions obviously: Praetorion, Rikti, and Our own. But if you look at how they set up, one thinks there may be a 4th dimension. Adjacent to Praetoria, but a mirror of the rikti.
