Healing enhancements
They're probably using power boost or power build up. It's a power in epic pools for controllers and defenders respectively.

I've slotted 5 slots to my healing powers, but I'm still not getting the same amount of healing as others I've seen in the game. With SO Enhancements, I get about 260+, and a little more than that with IO Enhancements on my lvl 46 healer. Some people are able to get 500-700+ heals. What enhancements are they using?
[/ QUOTE ]
What heals are you referring to them using? If you're using Healing Aura as your basis of comparison, that sounds about right. Twilight Grasp from Dark Miasma and Transfusion from Kinetics both heal for a significantly larger portion because they are tohit heals. Healing Aura, Radiant Aura and the non-tohit heals have a significantly lower base heal amount.
Twilight Grasp and Transfusion have a baseline heal effect for Defenders of 23.5% (238.8 at level 50). Healing Aura and Radiant Aura have a baseline heal effect of 13.2% (133.9 at level 50). Factoring in 95% +heal from enhancements, the numbers you're seeing are completely appropriate.
Also, please don't identify yourself as a "healer" or fall under the false assumption that heals are the best form of team support available to a Defender. Numbers have been done and, in 99% of the situations in which support is actually needed, buffs are better by a significant margin. Math supports this. If you're an Empathy Defender, learn to use Fortitude as often as possible on as many targets as possible. It's your real money maker.
Thanks, very helpful.

Don't recall doing that, but thanks for the reminder? Just wondering why some other folks' heal powers were stronger than mine.

it should also be noted that anything past 3 SOs of any enhancement is completely redundant, as enhancements lose effectiveness due to Enhancement Diversification

As mentioned, it's most likely either people using Power Build Up / Power Boost or it's someone using a more powerful heal power such as Transfusion, Twilight Grasp or Absorb Pain. You just describe yourself as a 'healer' so it's not clear what you're actually playing, though an Empathy/something Defender is probably a fair guess. Several other Defender powersets have heals which are more powerful than Healing Aura or Heal Other.
Generally speaking, investing in healing exclusively as a form of team support is pretty lacking anyway, which is why you get the replies you do. It's less important to get the highest green numbers possible and more important to be well-rounded with buffs, debuffs, controls and/or attacks on top of the heals.

This. Probably what you're seeing is a combination of heavy slotting and stacking healing set bonuses. The Power Build up theory isn't far off either.

You identified yourself as a "lvl 46 healer" without any mention of power set or archetype (though some assumptions could be made concerning both).

Can this be our new Healer thread then? It seems to me that the forum is itching for a really good vent on the subject again. New blood tends to do that as both camps rush to recruit.

I apologize for the misnomer. I don't care either way, but I can be accommodating. My Empath/Defender is also an archer, and yes, her greatest strength is the shiny blue aura she throws out every few seconds. The healing aura is quite useful too; however, according to her many grateful teammates.

Its not the size of your heal, its how often you use it. I would rather have heal other have a shorter cool down than have an extra 30 or 40 points in it.

Probably your greatest strength is going to be Adrenaline Boost, though Fortitude is another strong contender. Empathy has some really excellent buffs. Recovery Aura, Regeneration Aura, Healing Aura, Heal Other - those are all fine, but I'd rather an Empath skipped those than skip either of their most powerful buffs. Sounds like the OP is generally on the right track, though.

You do realize that most of the people you're teaming with are going to notice stuff happening to them rather that stuff not happening to them right? Fortitude will do more to keep a target alive than all of the healing you can throw out at him/her (unless they're already at the defense softcap). People simply notice healing because it is visible. Players will notice their newly glowing red head, but they won't notice how little damage they're taking and how much less healing they need. This is also the reason why most players don't feel that FF/* is particularly potent when it's easily argued to be the best defender primary for keeping your team alive.
You should never expect public opinion to match the truth. People are stupid and oblivious. Expect their opinions to be wrong unless they have verifiable data to prove it right.

Someone is taking this thread very seriously. If you want to be known as a healer don't let anyone tell you otherwise. While not all defenders are healers if one can make the argument it's an empath. Personally I'd much rather have an empath consider himself a "healer" then an "archer".

Shiny blue aura? What power are you referring to? The only "shiny blue aura" I can think of that an empathy/archery would have is Recovery Aura, which I doubt you're throwing out every few seconds...
