City of Heroes is Going Rogue!?!

I bet they sent it out early by mistake. That would be why castle couldn't say more about it. Why would you announce it like this then not say anything about it? AND they always announce stuff at PAX and that's not till August.
Plus I never got the email while anachro did. I'm sensing a pink slip in someone's near future.

Or maybe they released it now since Champions Online is due out this summer.

Am I the only one who does NOT want to see power customization EVER hit this game? The furry one was totally right about our characters becoming nothing but glowie balls of light when fully buffed; to think that not only would our characters be turned into light-balls of every color, but a fully debuffed enemy (I'm thinking Radiation toggles as well as Darkest night, for example) could easily blur baddies into blobs of -NEW AND IMPROVED, ALL COLORS OF THE SPECTRUM!-
.
I like knowing that I can look at a boss and if I see Green or Black on him (Radiation or Dark Miasma), it's probably safe to go smack on him, but if it's a light-grey Snowstorm, be careful because he can still smack the [censored] out of me. The set colors and looks of the powers in this game help me to know what's going on around me in game.

You are not the only one... I totally agree with you!!

It may slip again, too... I'm not sure why Cryptic put out the July date. Here's the post on it:

We wanted our fans to hear this from us first... Were changing our Champions Online launch date from July 14th to September 1st of this year.
Why? Heres what our own Bill Roper, Design Director and Executive Producer on Champions Online, had to say about it:
It is critically important for an MMO to be as good as it possibly can be at launch. Through our constant dialogue with our vocal and supportive community of beta testers, we quickly realized that in order to implement certain features that we all considered important the development of Champions Online would require more time. So that's what we're going to give it. Cryptic has a proven track record of releasing solid games and we want to maintain that with Champions Online.
What does this mean for you? Simply, more beta play time right now and a better, more polished game at launch.

Add me to the list as well, I could care less. Rather have some new AT's or powersets.

I think it's possible for them to do PC without changing how the effects look on the character. It probably is also going to depend on the powerset... I can't see them making Dark powers be tintable to anything other than Dark, you know? Hard to say, of course.
Personally, I'm more in favor of them adding more animations to the game... I don't like seeing the same Footstomp animation ported to a bunch of different powers (even if they added some glitzy lights to the Kheld powers, for instance, they're still the footstomp animation). *sighs* Probably isn't going to happen, since that idea was shot down in the discussion section by all the "give me more powersets naow!" crowd. No matter that more proliferation means seeing more of the same animations throughout.
