PvP Enhancements
My understanding is they've got about the same drop rate as purples. And they only drop off players. =/

well, since they are lvl 10-50, i'd try in that range instead of lvl 1. also your enemy has to be within a certain lvl range of you, I think less than 3 lvls below.

I am wondering, do they not drop off of L1 characters or something? I'm going on 150 kills and nothing yet.

According to testing posted in the PvP forums, the character defeated has to be within a few levels of the character who defeated them.
A level 50 should not ever get a drop from a level 1

It's actually far, far higher a drop rate than that.
I think mob rares drop less often, per kill.

What is the level of the toon killing the level 1?
Yeah level requirements for PvP drops are the same as normal drops. If you were exemp'd to 1 and killed that level 1 you'd get a chance at a drop, but as a natural 50 against a 1 you won't.

Not in the Arena. Not unless you set it up that way.

there is a 1% chance you recieve a pvp IO
so every 100 kills means you're guranteed atleast one
Uh, where is that statistic from?
Also, a 1% chance does not mean you're guaranteed one drop every 100 kills.

My average (in arena) has been one per 60-70 kills. No idea what my zone average is since I don't know if it only applies to kills your team got, or kills which your team did a portion of the damage, or how many kills I've even had in zone PvP. Think I've had two drops in zones and probably around a dozen in the arena.

I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that team drops work like they do with regular PvE drops. That is, when a target is defeated, a drop chance is checked. If that drop check is successful in generating a drop, another random determination is made of who gets the drop. So the odds of a drop would be the same, but your odds of getting the drop would scale down linearly with team size.

That would be my assumption as well.

UberGuy is right--even if the first statistic is true, statistics do NOT work the way your second comment suggests. Say point one is true, for this argument, and you defeat 99 people without receiving a pvp IO recipe drop. Your chances of receiving a pvp IO recipe drop on your 100th kill are........
No, they're not 100%! They're still 1%.
Not to burst your bubble, but you could kill a MILLION guys, and never see a drop...because the chance would still be 1%.

There is a 63.4% chance you will have had at least one recipe drip and a 36.6% chance of not getting a PvP recipe drop at all.

Man... I've yet to have one drip! Had a couple drop... but never drip!
:P
And the 1% chance sounds about right with my testing.
Heres a question :
I primarily play empathy elec. When I join a team for PvP and we are duking it out - I generally deal little to no damage as I concentrate on buffing.
So when "we" defeat someone do I still get a chance at a PvP IO drop, if I didnt deal any damage to the defeated enemy ? Or is it a random check for everyone on team to see if i get something ?
- Do I have to deal a minimum level of damage to earn a chance ?
- Do I have to be the one to cause the actual defeat to get a chance ?
Over the hills and through the woods.
Assuming you are teamed, when a drop occurs it gets assigned to anyone on the team.
