Been a while. Anything played well will do well in 1on1s. As far as FOTM for 1on1s I would go.
Doms (any)
Corrs (Thermal)
Masterminds (Pain or Poison)
Blaster (Fire, Sonic, or Ice EM)
Stalker (Regen EM, Spines, or Elec)
Trollers (Thermal)
Scrappers (Regen) <<Its good again because Rad Troller and Defenders suck now.

No. But for lulz you can stick the Devastation hold proc in there as well - it's an 8-second hold so it does a great job of [censored] up people long enough for you to kill them.

Here's another question then regarding mez's...

Somebody in our vent says that, say, you hit somebody with a Hold and then it wears off, you can hit them with a Stun, which should stun them.

Looking at City of Data, it seems any time you're hit with a mez, theres (I think) 15 seconds of suppression that comes with that from ALL mez types (except confuse and terror I think) then on.

So, if I hit someone with a hold, can I follow up with a stun after it wears to stun them? Or is what City of Data says true?

Also, does the mez suppression timer kick in after the mez wears off, or when it is initially applied?

An SG mate tried that.He made a toon that would use 3 or 4 different mezzes chained.A hold,immobile,stun,etc.The thinking being since you couldn't really stack mezzes maybe you could different types.It did not work.

Got ya, maybe why I've seen a few dominators that just take the first hold out of the set and maybe one or two other things, and concentrate on the secondary then; makes sense.

The hold proc needs to be changed. Its too good.

It would be nice if one mez type didn't cause suppression in others. It would at least make people stock up on multiple mez types and provide more variation in pvp builds. Also make mezzing ATs a little more dangerous.

I'll say I cry a little every time I play my Fire blast toons. Both blaster or Corr. I swiched to Psy and sonic and so much better. MY Sonic/Cold is a BLAST to play. Also now that Corrs can get Hybernoob or PB it makes a hard choice. Sharks and Soul Storm are such broken holds too. It is by far the most fun for me to play red side. My Grav/Elec dom being 2nd.

Blue side I have a blast on my Cold/Psy fender and Storm/Rad fender. with mind/ff being a fun 3rd if there is enough damage/buff/debuff on the team.

ok can someone please explain the deal with storm to me? I'm being told they're good, and yet their offensive toggles get dropped every time they're mezzed - where's the good? (back after a year and don't know my own toons)

They're good in 1v1's. Once you've hit someone with a -tohit debuff, it's hard for them to mez you, since they can't hit you. This started happening only in I14. In I13, debuffs were a complete joke and basically did nothing. That's where the whole "offensive toggles suck" thing started. Now it's still a problem, but not nearly as much, because the debuffs actually do something.

good in 1v1s? lol last time i checked lighting storm wasnt jolting every 4 sec, even thou the hurr debuff last 10 sec u still gotta retoggle that bish every 10 sec. but even with that its still decent until you realize that since slows got nerfed you cant keep anything under Ls anymore. If your comparing storm to i13 then sure its a big difference, but to say its good to what it use to be its not even close. Its truthfully not even worth making since anything with good endrain or burst dam will wreck you in any 1v1, its just shadow of its former self, just like a bunch of other toons that got ripped into peoples AT graveyards since i13

Its sad when your epic HOLD does more damage than anything in your primary. I'm not crying though I love the holds. For my team build I use phase/Soul Storm,PB and for my Zone build or 1v1 i use Leadership/Hybernoob. Great pools.

But I guess the same goes for hero side too. Stone mastery's hold hits for more than KB blow for tankers. Dominate does more damage than anything in /Psy for fenders. and Seismic Smash hits harder than anything a troler can put out in containment or not.

Well, they are dot so they, on paper, appear better than they actually are. Nonetheless, dot is very useful for zone pvp.

I would argue that they are EPIC and they have huge recharge timers and activation times. Hence the amount of damage.

PS I didn't really think about the animation for the soul hold.
