A plea to MA designers
Persuade the devs to increase the description limit and I'd do that.
As it is, seeing as so many people dislike so many different things, warnings for everyone would take all 300 (is it 300?) available characters.
I can guarantee that most people designing missions don't have a complete "numbers" knowledge of every AT in the game. They just want to tell a story, and a lot of times, they create enemies with powers that "logically fit" their story. If you creat a story, you're not going to please everyone. And... There isn't enough room in the description section to list off what ATs "can't" play a certain mission, without taking away the ACTUAL description of the story itself, and writing something that might peak someone's interest.
Don't get me wrong... I get where you're coming from... I played an arc back when MA first came out (like the 2nd day) with my WS, and I thought it was amazing... All the fights were epic, and I had fun running through it. So, I decided to play the story again about a week later, and the creator had changed all the enemies in it to ones that wound up 8 and 9-stacking stun on me, therefore ruining my "fun" experience with that mission. I didn't start broadcasting to everyone that this particular arc "now sucks"... I sent a message to the creator with some "constructive criticism." He doesn't have to change it if he doesn't want to, and he shouldn't feel that he "has" to... But, sending a message to the creator might be a better solution for both you and the creator--possibly for the betterment of the mission later on.
Just getting pissed off and complaining to everyone else without actually notifying the creator isn't exactly above-board, if you know what I mean. I'm sure the creator would have appreciated that.

76 characters and Twenty-four 50s later, I still love this game.

I actually agree with the OP. I play a grav/ff controller and have come across the same thing. Go into a mission, they were dark/dark and none of my holds or immo's would work. Once I got an overpower that held on for about 3 seconds. I cheered!
I gave up and walked away after wasting 10 minutes. Only got about 30 tickets too. It was ruthless, and no warning.
Really, just saying "mez protoction" at the end would be SO HARD?
Whatever. Hope these people don't get angry when they get a few bad ratings from angry trollers. I didn't rate it, but there will be some who will.
Thing is, without the feedback, building balanced character is HARD in the MA. They're inherently tougher than similar characters in the normal PvE. Keep in mind that the builder may not even KNOW how tough they are, even after reasonably extensive testing. I came to some surprising revelations about my own arc when running someone else's on a big team (harder to get for testing than one might imagine). Try not to attribute to malice what could easily just be inexperience.
Dec out.
This is an easy solution although perhaps not so easy to implement. Allow the AE interface to display what type of critter is on the map i.e.Minion,Lieutenant,Boss,EB,AV as well as corresponding power sets/difficulty setting.
So the interface won't share story specifics such as critter name and biographies but I wouldn't have a problem seeing AT types/Power sets/difficulty settings on critters.
Not everyone is familiar with every powerset. Not everybody knows what that purple halo means, they just think, "Dark armor, cool!" and "Well I can solo this on my blaster, so it must be ok" and hit Publish.
Send feedback, and if they actually care about their arc they'll do something about the problem.
And then suggest to the Devs that they remove Obsidian Shield from Dark Armor for custom critters set on Standard.

Ah; minions shouldn't have that on Standard should they? Maybe this is also partly a "why must everything be Extreme" thread?
@Mindshadow
I agree with the others here, send feedback to the creator. I played an arc yesterday that was pretty fun. But I was on an Inv/SS tank. The minions and Lts. were basically Fire/Fire blasters and Ice/Ice blasters. Doesn't sound like that bad, until they start stacking immobs, holds, and slow effects on you from up to a dozen mobs. For the final fight, against an EB, I started with a 45% recharge bonus. Before I got him to 3/4 health, my recharge was completely bottomed out. I had 8 attacks on my tray, and I was sitting there waiting for the next one to recharge so I could use it, then wait for the next. Worst part was, I got the EB down to 1/4 health and he ran away. I couldn't chase him, and certainly couldn't stop him, so I failed the last mission in a 5 mission arc.
Needless to say, I was not happy about this experience. But I didn't give him a zero or anything. I did send some detailed feedback about his mobs being way too tough for most people. And that having guaranteed fails set up for people on the last mission is not a good thing.

One thing I'm rather confused about, is why the devs decided that the mez protection toggle on certain armors should be included for standard - extreme settings, and only included for hard - extreme on others, and only for extreme on others still.
It's my personal thought that all armor sets should only get their mez protection at the extreme level. NPC's already have innate mez protection for a reason.
The fact that Dark Armor always gets it is particularly annoying, since it's very visible, one of the few powersets that fits a "darkity-dark" themed enemy group (mock all you want, the sheer number of "darkity-dark" characters shows that there are a lot of people who enjoy that kind of stuff), and gives fairly equal resistance to most damage types, unlike the stupid-high smash/lethal resist some armors give.
Meanwhile none of the "invisible" armors give mez protection to minions iirc.

Please, please, if you are going to make entire AT's worthless in your arcs then please make note of that in the arc description.
So my wife and I are playing our Earth/Storm Controller duo. We're at 19 1/2 and don't want to open a new contact just for that half a level, so I suggest we try a few short MA arcs to finish the level out.
We hit the MA, find an interesting sounding one. It's got a nice description and sounds like it might be fun (and it's unrated -- I always try to take a look at the unrated ones or ones with only a few ratings -- assuming they sound interesting and not just obvious farm missions).
So we start it up, read the intro, go into the first mission and BLAMMO!. Every single minion is a full Dark Melee/Dark Armor scrapper with full mez protection running.
Well, needless to say, once we both drop our full complement of mez (2 st holds, 2 st immobs, 2 freezing rain, 2 aoe stuns) and the rather large (8+ minions) group just completely ignores it and beelines straight for us....it was a very short mission.
Immediate drop and I didn't bother to even give it a rating. I can't really justify giving it a bad rating since I didn't even make it past the first map corner, but I'm certainly not giving it a good one either.
Really, it sounded like an interesting arc and I may come back and try it with a scrapper or tank, but come on....
Lts or Bosses with mez prot .. fine, that's challenging and we can work with it. Minions with mez prot .. that's just a unpleasant grind with controllers.
If you want to put that into your missions, fine, no problem, some folks might even like it....BUT WARN PEOPLE BEFOREHAND, PLEASE. Pretty Please?
