This game has come a long way with the character costumes and designs, but I want to make a fat villain. It would make the game more real if they could do this.

Fat Options:
Love Handles
Double Chin
Beer Belly
Cankles
Ba-donka-donk
Pack of Franks (Rolls on the back of the neck)

Nope.

Those terms are all subjectively negative in lexicon.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but the words themselves are not offensive, it's peoples perception of the words.

For example:

In England a three letter word starting with "F" and ending with "G" that has an "A" in the middle is a slang for a cigarette, while in the USA it is a slang for a man that prefers sex relationships.

Why does it have to be a fat villain? Why can't it be a fat "hero"?

Something about the oppositional mirror effect?

How many fat heroes were there?

I would like to make a Over Weight Hero too like Big Bertha from marvel, but the idea of a King Pin or Blob villain came to my head first.

I have had the name Supperman saved for about 4 years waiting for a chubby option.

P.S. His warcry is "It's Supper Time!!"

There is Babe Ruth
and there's a band called "Fat Hero" There's also Chow Yun Fat whom -to some- is a hero.
And because you didn't see one "fat" person in the Justic League they don't exist?... an overweight person CAN'T be a hero?

I agree that it would be nice to be able to make fat characters. It's all about customization right? What if we don't want to make a super macho man? I mean there are enough of them running around already.

How about an ext3 hero? or ReiserFS villain? or NTFS villain?

I'd like to be able to make my hero fat if he lets himself go.

Ted Kord as the Blue Beetle is an example of a serious hero that is of a greater weight then it is possible to portray using the current options.

He has a hard time maintaining a fit body, and becomes pudgy on occasion.

QR- Apart from Jay's response (which i disagree with by the way) the standard response I have seen on this is that its too much work, much like many suggestions that are shot down.

As an aside I wonder what would happen at my job if I told the customers that I cannot do what they ask because its "too much work"?

I too would love an "overweight" option. Especially now that I can make characters in MA.

It was actually not too long ago that I was asking my gf about the idea of making a fat female toon. Especially since there is at least an option to make a bulky male... why not a bulky female. Could be interesting lol

I'm not talking about like The Blob fat, I'm talking about slightly overweight, a little padding around the mid section and back. The Blob fat would be a lot of work, too much work for a niche appeal. People/characters like that carry themselves differently, walk differently and move differently on account of gravity tugging on them, Blob fat would require a whole new body type, not clothing like Ted Kord, and a whole new body type is a lot to ask for, especially since there is still only one body type for females, and speaking of females, it may even call for two new body types, so that is a lot to ask for.

It's somewhat possible.

Try a huge build.

Set the sliders as follows: Physique, waist, and hips all the way to the right. Chest, shoulders, and legs all the way to the left. It LOOKS right, but it has (understandable) problems with graphics clipping on many, many outfits (mostly to minimal degrees, but somewhat noteworthy).

I'm out of signature space! Arcs by Tubbius of Justice are HERE: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=218177

I wouldn't be able to stop laughing if I was teamed with a chubbily Mucha Lucha tank.

The problem with adding new models, like Male Fat, Female Huge, and so on, is that it multiplies the work required for other labor-intensive aspects of the game.

Add one new model. Every costume piece now must be tested 1 extra time. Every animation must be perfected on one extra model. Every effect and aura must be tested on the new skeleton. Every bug must be chased on every new model separately.

What's worse, is that you could create a multitude of models: Fat, Huge, Bestial, Robotic, Taurian, Four-Armed, and Serpentine, in male and female versions, and it wouldn't create a lick of content. You still wouldn't have anything new to do in the game.

Now, Star Wars: Galaxies handled this by having a single model that could be adjusted for height, weight, age, and a number of other factors. It's probably too late to consider a change as sweeping as that.
