And yet none of the costume items were released in the context used.
And I find it funny how the rabbi looks nothing like a rabbi. What stereotype are you using for him?
[/ QUOTE ]
I went to google images, typed in "rabbi" and tried to amalgamate the first page results into something which could be roughly translated into the character creator. This fella here was more or less what I was aiming for.
I do find it interesting that the word "stereotype" is treated like some sort of nouveau-profanity. You'll find that the imam, priest and nun don't look much like their respective real life day-to-day counterparts either, but you don't seem to have much issue with them likely because they suit your exemplar of what these characters do look like. The important fact is not that you have stereotypes, it's that you don't judge every individual as per the connotations involved with these.

Judging my judgment...
Pot, meet kettle. Enjoy. -

Edit: Forgive me a short rant here, but you know, that really irks me. The best way to promote fear of something is to segregate it. There's nothing wrong with making fun of someone, or being made fun of -- those are natural parts of integration. I understand that some things are just too dear to some people to be allowed into the public forum willy-nilly, but Eris forbid that one of them is a hat. And besides, if you want to kill a joke? Repeat it until everyone's heard it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Jokes can be contextually demeaning even if your demeanor is jovial and lighthearted. In a game where there are no vocal/tonal shifts and facial expression, its hard to separate the serious from the not serious.
Adding in turbans, despite your geographical detail, will still add an element of subjective stereotyping.
"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." Agent Kay
Don't think that if certain costume pieces were put into the game for use that some ignorant S.O.B. isn't going to run around claiming to be a terrorist or some other stereotype.
It's easier to limit what can be put into the game than to put everything in the game and continually smack around the banhammer. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah! Turbans and yarmulkahs and shtreimels! Mantillas and wimples and capello romano!
That way we can insult all religions equally when we put them on our characters that are made specifically for comedic purpose!
I'd also love some curly payot for men. That way it's easier to tell who is jewish.
/sarcasm
Division makes derision easier. I really hope no ethnic or nationalist items are put into the game. I don't wanna be rescued by Hannukah Harry only to find out that the White Knight is after him and Uncle Tom, both.

We Hebrews already have a hero, and his name is not Harry.

I like the -regen idea too... So many good ideas!
However, we already know that for the most part the damage descriptions aren't very accurate. -
I'd love -res.
But I think it would be OP'd, especially on a scrapper. -
I miss the old PK...
...this new one is scary -

I was wondering when the stamina/endurance debate would arise again.
Doesn't seem to have anything new either.
Oh well, here's for hoping the next one does! -
Aett... I'm sad... You keep saccing PlaySkool!
I wish we had arm parts with steam effects that you see from the Self Destruct sequence. When all the steam shoots out from the legs/arms? Yea that. -
*casts mutation on Playskool*
I'll save ya!
*edit*
but on a serious note, I agree. More options for real non-cat girl furries! (or scalies if you're a lizard/dragon/geico) -
I like how Rach can laugh at her own post.
Anyway. I like the folder idea too. Someway to categorize all the junk that flows in would be appreciated. -

you should stop worring about what i do with my money and my toons.

Did she say she had a problem with Coldmed teh farmer?
No.
We're throwing ideas around about the practice of farming, which is generally done by a portion of the population, not just you.
Think of it like this. I don't care what you do with your time, money, or hamsters. But I do care about the effect your actions may or may not have.
Any way, if you actually read the thread, you would see that this isn't a 'omg, git rid of farmin!' thread.
plz, lrn2rd -
Well, personally, I like the idea about having the choice of removing influence for a higher drop rate.
I can compromise with that.
But we still need a real influence/infamy sink... -
Claiming Terp is harassing you is just as bad and against the forum rules...
-
Rachelthulu,
You are confusing and somewhat contradictive.
[ QUOTE ]
they'll stop exploiters (which is what farmers are)

From one of your antifarmer rants...
[ QUOTE ]
You can no longer spawn snake eggs in MA arcs.
You can no longer spawn Vampyri Generators in MA Arcs.
You get no salvage or recipe drops from MA arcs.
All custom MA enemies must now have at least 1 attack based set.
All of these things were put in place to AVOID farming of 'easy' content with high rewards.
[/ QUOTE ]
But you want to....
[ QUOTE ]
In exchange for your 0 influence gain you get an extra 10% chance of a drop from opponents. So now you're fighting more people AND getting more drops per farm. The Market isn't being glutted with more influence and the supply and demand rules can apply without farmers throwing the influence inflation further out of whack.
[/ QUOTE ]
You want to...increase reward...but you said you're against it.
Please pick a side Rachel. Or be a neutral... -

Why prestige? What good does that do for those of us who don't use bases?
[/ QUOTE ]
None whatsoever, and it might not even show up as an option for people not in SGs. You can also buy customizable weapon options with v. merits, which I imagine isn't helping most Defenders, Corruptors, Dominators or Controllers very much. Not everything benefits everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mmhmm.. archery and assault rifle... but the weapons aren't the only thing v merits are good for. They have an entire costume set involved and temp powers...
[ QUOTE ]
The vet reward system awards decorative base items, and the only people that use them are the few people that have base architect per missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you trade them to players with bases? Would that even make sense?
[ QUOTE ]
Accolades only benefit people that earned the badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh... accolades are comparable to free costume tokens how?
[ QUOTE ]
Gladiators only benefit people that play Arena Gladiator matches.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh... gladiatorss are comparable to free costume tokens how?
[ QUOTE ]
Vanguard merits only benefit characters that have gone thru the RWZ arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't mind seeing a conversion for v merits since they can accumulate so vastly, but have no bearing one way or the other.
[ QUOTE ]
There're lots of things in the game that get used by only a portion of the playerbase.
[/ QUOTE ]
But through new issues and vet rewards you can accumulate a lot of costume tokens with no effort at all whereas all the other points, save for base items, require some effort. -

I was confused for a second Sig!

I swear I remember reading about Castle being fired, and something about his 'last post', or something like that.
Would've been a hell of an April Fool's joke, though.
