Multi-language arcs

I speak both english and french but since I'm in North America, I play on the american servers. I would like to be able to set two languages available for an arc: it's available to play in french and english(and/or german if it's the case).

When players would see the arc in mission lists, they would just select what language they play.

Try speaking American its the only language we understand

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

[/ QUOTE ] Um, is it a bad thing I immediately knew what show that was because I recognized the guy speaking?

Well, we know they're localized for Europe. I don't know if any of that info is over on the US side or not. (Standard code rant) I can't imagine it being *difficult* (well, overly so) to have it available here as well.

I don't know how many people would use the option, but on the other hand, it might make it easier across the board.

Plus, of course, with MA you *can* search localized (English/French/German) arcs. So who knows.

It's a registry key. I *believe* the options are going to be 0, 1, 2, 3 or some similar thing for setting the language.

Mine shows as 1033, which is Americanized English. I have no clue what any other languages might be, and I'm not going to play with my registry just to find out. I might break something.

BackAlleyBrawler: I can't facepalm this post hard enough.
ShoNuff: If sophisticated = bro-mantically emo-tastic, then I'm going to keep to my Shonen loving simplicity dammit.

That sounds like a Windows locale ID, in which case this list might be useful. (It's for Word, but the locale IDs are used across the whole operating system.) This isn't to say, of course, that you might not break something messing around with that registry key--do it at your own risk.

The language of the client doesn't really matter as I can obviously read and speak english if I'm using the english client.

I'd just like it together as ONE arc without having to publish it 2 times and getting different reviews for each. It's a CoH thing.

Also, if it ever happens, if one of my arcs gets developer's choice, the french-only people will have some of those arcs available.

Ahh, misunderstood that.

I don't know of a way of making a *player created* arc localized, where it'd pay attention to that setting. You're typing in straight text, after all.

I say just make all the text grunting, yelping, and guttural growls. That way, all languages understand.
