Hi all -
I was impressed by two recent themed CC's I've seen posts and ads for, one being the 'Dress your Badge' CC and the other being the 'Color Palette Costume Contest'.
How about a list of ideas for people to refer to, to do on different servers, for their own SG's, etc., etc.
Some obvious ones:

Holiday theme

Seasonal theme

Dress as your favorite animal

Vegetable? Mineral? o.O

Celebrities

Characters from - novels/myths/other non-copyrighted literary sources

I've wished that there was a recurring contest that focused on name rather than palette. As an example, this weeks name is "The Pale Owl".

gotta be careful with the last one, could break EULA, generally if the name does not match the costume then i call it cosplay and it's ok. also made for a good "guess who i am" party last summer.

Seems like there would be a lot of good themes out there similar do what they do on food netowrk challenge you know.

These are just off the top of my head and not really anything I've run or have seen run.

Color Rows: Grayscale (1st row) Reds (2nd row)..etc

Insects

Goth/Vampy (without using Black or Red)

Robots/Cyborgs

Film Noir (with bios) (this is also an SG )

Wild West (Not a CC but I do run an SG with this theme...great costumes)

On Protector there've been a couple, Cap Myotis ran one which I think I was the only person who knew about it at the time and showed up to accurately participate, a "Motorcycle gang" style theme.

I like the idea someone posted a couple days ago too, about themed groups - even if it's just for a single contest, having a group or sg party show up all in a theme is fun.

Long, long ago, I ran into a group doing Wizard of Oz, very well I might add.

I was thinking about this on the way to work today, and if it wasn't susch short notice, I'd consider holding a Valentine's Day themed CC either tonight or tomorrow.

Other contests I would consider sponsoring are a "Lucky Lowbie" contest and a "Natty Newbie" contest. While not technically "themes," these contests would only be open to toons under level 10, and toons with no vet badges respectively.

I've seen some amazing costumes that utilize the Roman armor and vet costume pieces, but I think it would be fun to see what people can come up with using only the resources available to low level, and/or non-vet characters. Also, I think a 10-million inf price would be more valuable to a level 6 newbie than a level 50 with 12 vet badges.

I really like this idea! I would definitely come to see this one! The themed ideas are great too. I was in an SG where we would have a party night every so often. We did a beach party on the hero side, and a pirate party on the ship wreck on the villain side all the while we are goofing off on vent and listening to great music. Great fun! I will be taking some of the ideas you all have posted here to my new SG.

My Sg did a theme a while back with the periodic table , I went with mercury (Mercury Menace ) which could be done with element, Mythology and or planets which was another team we were thinking about.

Thanks, I think I may just do this. None of my toons are very rich, so the prize levels wouldn't be astronomical (probably 8 million total per cc). I'll probably hold one red-side on Virtue, and blue-side on Guardian, since that's where my richest characters are.

I've had a few, but for CCs I prefer the S&A board and often don't get many entries.
