Capitol Offense SG

This is the forum thread for organizing teams, task forces, as well as both in-game and RL events related to the incredibly awesome new SG on the Champion Server: Capitol Offense.

Capitol Offense is a SG for City of Heroes players based in the Washington, DC metro area. The SG was founded by attendees of the DC Area M&G on January 31, 2009 (hosted by Aett_Thorn). Original thread here.

Capitol Offense is currently accepting new members. Players from the Washington, DC Metro area are preferred, though this is not a requirement. Capitol Offense SG aims to become Positron's Ally. I propose we complete the TF in two play-sessions to accommodate folks with real lives and who may not be able to play marathon sessions on-demand (like me!).

How do the following times work for everyone? For those of you interested ... I aim to run the Frostfire mission in the Hollows as a warm-up tomorrow on "Frostfire Friday the 13th." I scheduled the weekend sessions during the day time, especially as Saturday will be Valentine's Day. I am open to revising the start times, splitting into smaller teams of 3-4 (and racing?), or anything else that will maximize SG attendance and enjoyment.

Okay, but since we're completing the TF over two days (unless we complete it in under 3 hours) I also penciled you in for the Sunday session. Please let me know if you cannot make it, and so far I'd suggest bringing the defender or blaster, though it depends on who else signs up.

Heya DB: Thanks for posting this up today!

For public record, my toon for this SG is Plutarchus Rex (broadsword/shield scrapper). I finally saw his face in hi-rez for the first time last night. (Building toons on my work laptop with the Intel chipset is like rendering LotR on a Timex watch.)

I won't be able to make it for the full TF, so I'll hold off on signing up, but now that my work desk and PC are finally built and powered up, I'll be playing off and on until Tuesday.

NOTE TO ALL Cap.Off. members: Once you're a member of the global channel (@Capitol Offense), check out the MOTD for VixenHealer's Ventrilo info. Thanks to Conundrum for testing my audio levels last night.

I gave everyone I found last night level 3 permissions (which for us permits, among other things, SG invites to facilitate getting everyone in).

Seeya in the game! You guys'll like the Champion crowd, it's like a circus of personalities, just without the small hands and bearded women.

I'm in the SG with at least one character (Dark Representative), and hopefully soon with one more (The Crazy Congressman). I won't be able to make it this saturday or sunday (stupid made-up holiday reasons).

My SG's motto on Freedom is "Real Life First", so I hear ya, Aett. Can't play when there's work to do. Kinda why I'll be offline for a while come Tuesday. =/

I mentioned this in the Player Events thread, but since we're consolidating here, I'll copy the stats below.

In the interest of statistics, here's where Cap.Off stands right now:

4 Blasters
4 Controllers
7 Defenders
8 Scrappers
5 Tankers
1 Warshade

Highest level right now is 20, "Night Arrow-". Average level seems to be 8-11. (There's a large swath of lvl 8's right now.)

Personally, I'm of the mindset of "bring whatever you want to the fight". I have no problem being weighted too far in one direction so long as we win at the end of the day. If you're not playing a class you like, you shouldn't be playing.

Since you said all times I also included you for Frostfire Friday the 13th, for which you would need to Exemplar, though I'm not sure if this was your intent. My frost-lined-tin-can (but with vented widemouth!) /Ice tank doesn't do much damage period, much less to a Cold Demon like Frostfire so any extra help is appreciated.

Turg, I know you said you may not be able to make the TF but if you're up for fightin' Frostfire tomorrow just let me know. I get the feeling you will enjoy ice-skating around that map in high-res on your new rig. All those 8's in our SG may be able to use the XP to prep for Positron, or that was my thinking behind including a warmup mission.

Also, to be clear, if folks are unable to attend the beginning of the Positron TF on Saturday ... there is no point in signing up for the continuation on Sunday. My original plan was to run the long TF in two sequential nights, ignoring the added challenge of 8 man teams. However, nothing is set in stone and I kinda liked the idea of running two four-person teams, too. I'll keep things flexible and we can adjust/finalize start times and things like that as we go. And... for anyone who can't make it... Positron is always standing around and I can count on him not to move

Look for a final post update just before we begin Frostfire tomorrow night.

Its suprisingly easy with a smaller team. I did it in a little over 3 hours with a three man team a few weeks ago.

Also I'm in for Friday too. I want to lvl up my Dark defender a little for Posi (she sould use an SG invite too).

Say, do we have a TeamSpeak server in addition to the Ventrillo server mentioned earlier? I can get TS to play nice with my Vista rig, but my onboard audio and Ventrillo refuse to play nicely with one another and I'm through with trying to reconcile the conflict.

i dont have teamspeak...but ive found SKYPE is a nice program too. Its FREE...the only downside is that one person has to START the call than add other people to the conference, not just an auto dial in.

Also, on Sunday, after I run the V-day missions on my new main character on Pinnacle, I'll be creating a few new characters on Champion for our group.

Now, we seem to need some support/blastery characters in the SG, but I'm going to try something that scares me more than a little bit: you, the DC area crew, get to make my character! I'm willing to try any set or combo that you want me to be! So have at it! The one I like best come Sunday gets made for the SG.
