Virtue's Global Chat Channels Info Thread - 2009

I've made a channel called Virtue PL. People will be able to use it who are specifically looking for farms, AE or otherwise. This way, people can find farms even if they are in different areas of the city, and may decrease the amount of public broadcast for farms.

I thought /b was the farm channel, though

Virtue MA Arc Testing

The intended purpose for this channel is to seek other players/authors willing to help in the testing of missions pre-publication. Not everyone wants their missions published without thorough testing, but not everyone is part of a large social circle. This channel aims to help those people get the testing they need done, hassle-free!

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I've joined VU2009, but cannot send messages through it (lack of permission). What do I need to do to get the necessary permission?

Same issue...joined channel but don't have messaging permission. Who do we contact to gain permission?

Simply contact a MOD like Myself. Basically anyone with a large star. This prevent RMT spammers and repeat offenders from talking in channel.

Does Virtue LFG even exist..? I tried both spaced and unspaced, the unspaced version had four people...Not exactly what I was hoping to find. The spaced version I couldn't even get into, it didn't ask me for a password or anything. Just...Nothing happened.

I'm kind of a noob to Global channels. I was hoping to find a solid network to find teams. Broadcast sucks these days...

If it didn't exist then you would be asked if you wanted to create the channel. SO my guess is you got in you just have to manage your tabs. Also channels don't have a PW option. Just are silance on joining. Also some are invite only.

Who are the contact people for Virtue LFG? I think maybe channel info should include some method to contact a moderator, if the channel is invite only.

"Virtue TFs" channel filled (with many inactive members) as of 2010-01-29.

I created the replacement channel "Virtue TFs 2010" and we'll be updating the MOTD with the conversion schedule.

The basic plan is, 5 days of voluntary invitation to switch, followed by a 30-day countdown to setting the old channel to private mode - around March 5th. We'll encourage broadcasting for Task and Strike forces in both channels until we've got most everyone switched over to the shiny new 2010 version.

Virtue TFs 2010 is now the primary channel for Taskforces/Strikeforces and similar activities, with 250 online at peak times. The conversion process was finished a bit early and the old channel has been closed.

A new channel Virtue CCs has started up for organizing and advertising costume contests in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.

Hopefully this will clear up AP broadcast a bit and get some more people congregating in zones of the Isles, as I've only seen one villain costume contest that wasn't planned out extensively in my history of playing a villain.

I'd like to add the channel 'Virtue CCs' to the global public list!

I created it for -guess what!- costume contests! I know a lot of people got frustrated that they always seemed to be missing them so why not have a channel where you can advertise CCs you are holding, or just spreading the good word of one.

I'm also hoping this helps redside CCs get going with more frequency.

I would like to throw out my SG channel. We play multiple servers, we like to meet new people, play with new people, talk to new people. We play on our main servers, Liberty, Guardian, with our sub servers, Virtue, Protector, Freedom. All together we contain 14SG/VGs combined. 2bases in the top 100, 1 top 30.

We like to team, and TF a lot. Even though its not a Virtue Channel, it's a Global-Multi server chat channel.

There is only 1 rule to the channel, keep the drama out.

Radio Free Etoile was started up in the late 50's as a pirate radio broadcast, based off a continually moving Supercargo container ship. Originally designed to destabilise Recluse's regime in the Isles, it lasted several years, with little success. With technology advances, and the lapse of time, villains and other citizens of the Isles began to figure out how to communicate using the same frequency, slowly turning the broadcast into what it is now, an unofficial communications corridor between the Isles and Paragon City, much to the consternation of authorities on both sides. The ship is stealthed now, but by who no one really knows. Still, someone is keeping the equipment running, and making sure the broadcast remains on the air.

Quick reminder to folks:

Do not use Virtue TFs any more. For all your TF/SF needs, you should join Virtue TFs 2010 instead. Guaranteed to contain 100% more awesome*.

* (Not guaranteed outside of Praetoria.)
