Looks like I'll have to miss Monday's team, got a work situation that has me pulling an overnight. Good luck on the LGTF.
Light, I've been working on the base and I've downsized the plot to get the prestige we needed for some upgrades, just working on getting some more prestige to get the control room in order to power the TP'rs.

I fixed the base entry permissions so you guys should be able to use the Army of Freedoms base now. If you are still having problems let me know.

Concerning Lightson MA Arc, just the shear joy of watching Dark faceplate so often was enough to get a smile on my face. I thought it was very hard, but then I did not know our resident sadist had set it on unyielding till half way through the second mission. You had to plan your attacks, you could not just run in, although that’s what Dark does, it took some planning and thinking, and that what I liked about it. Loved the enemies too, the look and the powers that you gave then, they worked very effectively at slowing Dark and introducing me to the floor and the hospital. I’m not a big fan of timed missions, but every once in awhile is ok. My overall comment on the missions was OUCH!

Do we want to hold off on the LGTF till Dark can join us? If we are going to wait I can grab some missions or we can look at running Police Missions in PI for a change of pace.

Let me know what you guys think.

Scratch my missing post. Just had my scheduled changed AGAIN. Instead of doing the overnight on Monday I'm now doin it Saturday . So now I have to work 8a-2p and come back in at 10p til 7a. Sometimes I really hate my job.........but then I have nights where I get to slam someone into the wall and realize how much fun it is

Was mainly just checking to see if we are switching to monday this week. i guess we are

after reading the last couple posts i really gotta find time to try out your guys new missions. I just havnt had time to play coh at all recently. as u can tell by my constant 1-2 lvl lag
are the missions listed under player global name?

And finally: when are we starting the nxt gen AoJ? you know i cant wait. and have we started recruiting yet? I think we should. even if we are picking a start date a month away, it might take that long to get a solid 2nd group, and a few weeks to see who drops out before we even start could be a good thing. Let me know tomorrow!

OH YEA! HAPPY EASTER!!

Happy Monday

We will not start the Second Gen until we all hit 50 on the current generation, so we do not have a solid date yet for the start of the Second Gen.

I will post on some of the SG boards that I know to see what kind of interest I can stir up.

Will we be staying with Mondays from this point forward or will we be switching back to Tuesdays at some point?

See you all tonight.

Just to be more specific, Solar, we decided it would be best to check the interest of those we know or have played with before and then open it up to everyone.

I suppose its not too early to at least let people officially "sign up" for the second gen, and we can talk about the best ways to actively recruit later. I believe this is what we have:

1. Lightson (2nd gen Defender)
2. Liberty Flam (2nd gen Blaster)
3. Perdix (2nd gen Tanker)
4. Doc (2nd gen Controller)
5. D (2nd gen Scrapper)
6. Solar (2nd gen controller)
7. MX (mentioned being a tank 2nd gen)
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.

I believe the rest of the spots are technically still open and I think I am remembering correctly that we agreed that 16 peeps would be a nice sweet spot.

Regarding changing dates, my wife and I have a running commitment on Tues/Thurs during the spring and summer. In the fall, my wife has a commitment on Monday. That was for the reason the switch. So when fall rolls around again my wife and I will probably request a switch back to Tuesdays.

Finally, for the MA story arc, the mission # might be the easiest way to look them up. Mine is 3062. I don't know D's otherwise I'd plug it.

See you guys tonight. Since Doc is now able to join us again, I think the plan is to give the LGTF a whirl.

RE: MA arcs.

Yes, arc ID is great but I don't remember mine off hand. You can also look it up by author, which is their global. That's how I found Lightson's. This is also convenient because I'm guessing all of us are on each other's global friends.

Hey Blind, good to hear from you again. If you are pretty sure you will be available on Mondays from 7:00-9:30 pm, then I would copy the list above, add your name to the first open slot with your proposed AT for the second gen and then re-post it.

We can use that list as a running sign-up for the second generation.

Also, just to be clear, we will occasionally go back to the "original 50's" from time to time even after we start the 2nd gen. We had talked about doing some of the shard TF's, maybe try State's TF, or even some MA content with our current (soon to be) 50's. Obviously, to do some of those things we will need to expand, because most of the things mentioned require a team of 8.

In short, it would be ideal for anyone new signing up (or re-signing up in your case) if they currently had a lvl 50 toon on virtue already. Not a deal-breaker necessarily, but it would help.

Well I am available on mondays and the time you listed is perfect so I can/will be there but I don't have a 50 if this is a problem no worries.I wish you and the team nothing but the best either way you decide =)

K, we got the LGTF tonight and who know what else. As the MA missions go......be afraid be very afraid . I did find one that we may want to try, it's a single mission with several AV's from Lord Recluse and his crew to some created ones.
As for Gen 2 team, I figure we should be good 2 go in bout 2 weeks. I have my fire/thermal at lvl 5 and a plant/rad at 7 for whatever is needed.

I have a few humble suggestions since we spun our wheels a bit last night. These are also in anticipation of us trying to expand to 16, when we will have to be a bit more organized anyway:

1) Lets start taking a head count of who will be present. The morning after we finish a run, I'll post something like this for the next run:

[ QUOTE ]
April 14 Sign-up, [Tentative plan for that week]:
1) Lightson
2) Liberty-Flame
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
8) on so on up to 16

[/ QUOTE ]

Each person could just add their own name to the list when they knew they would be able to make it. Then, a day or two before the run we can look at what we have and decide what we want to tackle that week.

2) I would suggest we never try to do something we don't have enough people signed up to do (i.e.--plan on trying to pick people up to meet the minimum team size). If we would like to do something like the LGTF (which requires 8), but by Monday we only have 6 or 7 people signed up, then I would say we just plan on doing something else.

The only exception I would suggest we make to this is to recruiting friends (coalition members, ect., i.e. not strangers) to help us get to the min team requirement and then drop them (unless they are willing to park in the TF with us). It would be ideal to have the "fillers" lined up beforehand.

Just as an aside, this is something I believe we will have to do more frequently for the second gen if we do expand to 16 because I anticipate many nights the numbers wont work out perfectly (i.e. we want to do a TF requiring 6 and we have 10 or a TF requiring 8 and we have 14).

3) If we have enough people signed up, but we are waiting for for everyone to log on, I suggest the default plan to always be running radio mishes in the appropriate zone while we wait. If we can do radio mishes because we are already in a TF, maybe we could street sweep an appropriate level hazard zone.

4) With regard to the MA my suggestion would be that we not use it unless:

a) we are specifically helping a team mate tweak one of his own creations; or

b) its a story arc one of us has personally run in its entirety and we enjoyed it.

Just a few thoughts/suggestions. Be interested to hear everyone's reactions.

Thanks!

Yes I agree we spun our wheels a little bit last night, but I still had fun.

I think we could start using our Guild Portal Page for some of this. There is a calendar what we can schedule events like what is planned for the next run, and people can sign up there. Then we can check to see who has all sign up and go from there.
I kind of like the idea of the CoH forum post being our story and exploits and not so much business stuff.

I agree we don’t just sit around waiting for everyone to login, police missions are a good time killer.

I also agree on the MA ideas.

I will post on a few of the SG that I know people in and post a recruitment post.
I will direct them here and to our Guild Portal Page. I will also ask a few friends I know if they would like to join us.

Later

Nope, Lightson was late too b/c we forgot that one of our computers was not patched. Last night I was as much to blame as anyone else. Just pointing out that those waiting might as well do something to kill time

It's official, Deflagrator is Lvl 6 and ready to rock whenever the 2nd gen starts. He is a Fire/EM tank. Despite a brief personal Bio I haven't really come up with anything story based since I'm not sure where we are going with the story for the second gen.

Ok all.
My buddy has claimed one of the spots on the next generation team.
He does have a 50 and would love to run the Shadow Shard TF’s with us.

I am still waiting to see if my posts on other SG sites generate any interest in our second generation team.

Thanks

You had mentioned that his wife/girlfriend (can't remember which) was interested in playing with him. Is that still the case?

If its just your friend by himself--and assuming MX starts joining us consistently again--that puts us right at 8 for Monday nights.

It will be just him.

What does the phrase "static team" mean in the context of this thread?

Hello Ang_Rui_Shen,

Static means we meet at the same time once a week with the same characters. All of our characters are at or near the same level and we only play them with the team, this way we level up together and we always have a team to run with.

Lightson, if you would like to add anything feel free.

OK, so my old job called me back for another couple weeks. it looks like i will be about an hour late to join this week (and next).
So, in this case I would recomend you guys start up the next Gen characters and i will join you when i get home. Just dont do the bank robbery mission without me! should be np since you have to do 3 radio's first.

Also, I MIGHT have a friend getting back into the game this week or next. he hasnt played in years, but im gonna try and get him into our group if his schedule allows.

Hello, there.

I just read the first page and the last. 7:00-9:30 is a great time for me. If you all are still playing in that slot, and you have room available, I'd love to get it on it.

I may not be the perfect candidate to join you though. I may miss about once a month, although I don't mind levelling in the off-time to catch up and be ready for the next week. I like to RP within the context of missions, but I normally don't like standing around advancing RP storylines when there's black hats that need blasting! I try to create strong, memorable characters, and just RP them in the course of the action.

Let me know if I might fit in.
