The Avengers of Justice--new static team on Virtue
I think we should go ahead and expand to 8-16. We just havnt really made it clear to people we are recuiting. teams like this always take off if given 3-4 weeks, and we already have a stable membership base.
Sergo sounds like a perfect fit. he likes what we are already doin. My friend joining would make 2, (was it IC?) had a friend that wanted to join right? and ive seen other posters on this thread that have shown interest in joining our next gen team...
And i really dont think we need to sign up ahead of time for a static team like ours. it implies your not there most of the time. why not just mention if you CANT make it? (theoretically the less common). where we supposed to start that? i thought it was only being considered once we expanded membership.
and why would splitting teams take a long time? just divide by 2. or pick captains schoolyard style...
Just my 2 1/2 cents.
So gen 2 starts this week? Fire/thermal here I come...or plant/rad here I come.....or illusion/storm...no wait did that one already.....wait I got it fire/storm...no wait.....never mind fire/thermal it is .
May remake my fire/thermal for theme but will have him ready by game time if I do.

I was on a team once that regularly had 8<attendance<16 and we had no trouble sorting out two teams and getting going quickly. We tried to balance each team for healing/damage, etc.

I think we just disagree about how quickly we will be able to split up teams and get rolling.
Bear in mind that my position is largely influenced by my motivations for starting the group in the first place: because of real life responsibilities I don't have a ton of time for gaming. On an average week, the time with the static group is usually the only time to get to play CoH. I would just like those 2.5 hours to be "productive".
Ultimately, I just want to keep the static team going so I will go with whatever the majority wants to do. I am willing to give an 9-16 person team the benefit of the doubt.
Thanks for the input.

^I am in the same boat with ya there.^
I wouldnt mind hearing what the other guys have to say about 1-8 vs 8-16 membership.
I just think the 8-16 will allow us to not only play on the nights when several arent able to show up, but it will also allow some variation in the team makeup each week while still having all the benefits of a static team.
Also, I think any problems that come up can be dealt with outside of the 2.5 hours of play.
Anyone hear from MX?
I got a response from TristynD aka: Blind Justyce, He said he can be ready for new group tomorrow.
the friend of mine i mentioned got a character to 5 last night. I THINK hes going to join us tomorrow if thats ok?
Hello all,
Ok here is my 2 cents worth.
I can see one downside to expanding it to more than 8 members. Here is the scenario, 8 of us log in at the set start time, and we all decide to run a TF that night, ½ hour later person 9 logs in. Ok now what do we do? Do we stop the TF and start over? Is person 9 just SOL that night?
If we go past 8 members I think a sign up is VERY important!! That way we can plan the nights events accordingly. If we know who is going to show up and when I think going past 8 members will work just fine. It is the not knowing who is going to show and when that leads us to standing around. We can always do scanner missions while we wait, but the knowing we have to wait for someone to login is important.
It takes 5 seconds to sign up for access to Lights fantastic Guild Portal page, and another 2 seconds to sign up for the nights run. I dont want to exclude anyone from the nights run, but I also dont want to sit around thinking that so and so is going to show and have then not show up.
Ok I hope that made sense, if not I will explain tonight.
Next Generation Here We Come!!!!
I have to agree with Perdix here, IF WE expand to 8+ for a 2nd team then we would need to really make the effort to sign up on the guild portal page(Mr big culprit here of not). As of right now I have no clue if MX or TrystanD is showing up tonight but can count on Pliska, Perdix, Dat, Light and Lib. Counting me in there that's 6 and not sure of team makeup for effectiveness till we get moving.
For the moment the 8 man set that we have used from start may be the best idea and stay the course with it.

Had a blast tonight guys!
Just wanted to post a few things right after our run to get us on the same page.
First, just a reminder we will be running Posi TF next week. To go along with Perdix's point, here is the link to the sign up:
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?Gu...urnView=Monthly
Please get into the habit of signing up so everything will go smoothly if/when our membership expands beyond 8. Let me know if you have any troubles signing up.
Also, it would be very helpful if everyone is signed up for Skype, even if you can only listen to the discussion.
Looking forward to next week.
Tonight was awsome guys! im so glad to finally start a new hero!
We really should get the last couple people on skype tho. its really easy, and its free! Dont you want to hear us making fun of you?
Now that we have started new heroes, shall we post some in character stuff? like the thoughts/actions/reactions for the night? Ill start. (ill probly also be the first to get bored and stop).
_Tonight a new team began. Loosly connected to the prestigous Avengers of Justice, and carrying their name. They started where the original AoJ first appeared. On the mean streets of Kings Row! (Not many people know of their more humble, and humiliating, beginnings in the sewers BELOW Kings Row.)
_Late in the evening after the assembled team members had already begun to get to know each other, stopped a few crimes, and posed for several tourist photo ops: Someone else appeared on the scene! A mysterious NEW hero! Seemingly appearing out of nowhere, but actually stepping off the tram from atlas park, she introduced herself as Gentle Touch. She already knew many of the heroes in great detail, refering to their powers and secret IDs casually.
_Midway through clearing out an office building infested with hellions, one hero shouts: "I GET IT! IC Touch, Gentle Touch!" The issue only becomes more confuseing however, when those who know IC Touch explain he has no known siblings or children, and is not much older than Gentle Touch herself.

Seconded!
BTW, Perdix made a pretty cool post in the members only section of the AoJ page. Check it out if you get a chance.
Perdix, it your are wondering why the post says "edited by" me, its because I couldn't read what you typed and so I played around with the colors so it was readable.

Just an update from last nights run. It was a no go due to outside forces, also known as recovery from holiday weekend all around. We'll pick up the Faultline arcs next week with most of us around 18-19 for Kurse

Hey there guys.
I have been having internet problems at my house for the last few days. So I am posting this from work hehe.
It should be all cleared up by next week I hope.
Hope you all had a great weekend!!!
With relation to Doc's recent genericization troubles, I found the following interesting:

Just wanted to give you guys a head's up that IQ and Bio-Fusion won't be able to make the next couple of runs. We will be good to go again on July 13. If you guys could post what levels you reached and what you accomplished each week, we will do our best to keep up.
Thanks!
I think I got to 27 last night. I beleive the plan was to do thr Ernesto Hess TF next week...kind of sad you guys won't be there.
As far as the villain thing we were talking about, I'd say Thursday at about 630 CST on Justice. Remember: villains, in some way related to a japanese theme. My roomate mike is planning a Sumo-like brute, I'm doing a Sailor Moon-like Dominator, probably. It would be sad if no one tried the obvious Ninjitsu Stalker or Ninjas Mastermind, but of course there's no mandates. I'm expecting Street Fighter character look alikes, Ash Ketchums, geishas, samurai, schoolgirls, whatever.
This will be much looser than the Avengers of Justice, mainly because I don't want that responsibility. However, if you want to level up a villain then we're likely to stick with it for a while and it's easier if you've got a regualr group.
I think we should save the TF till everyone is there.
I hit 28 last night, so I think we are all around 26-28 range.
So not sure what the plan will be for next week, but we will come up with something.
I agree with waiting for everyone for the TF, as for what to do we could dust off the 50's for the new TF against the 5th column or do the respec mission in TV.
As the villain Thursdays, I am really feeling the ss/sr brute vibe but not sure if I can come up with a Japanese tie in and the stalker and mm idea, I have both on virtue stuck at 35 and 24. Besides my idea for an mm would be ninja/storm for a tsoo theme and I'm not sure how many people would like that kinda KB flying all over the place and are we talking this Thursday or next Thursday for this to start? Ahh, hell I'll make all 3 and see what I like and is needed it's not like I have enough alts to mess with

I think the three here in Missouri were thinking today (the 2nd) to start. The first 10 or so levels go so fast that's not insurmountable if today is bad for some who will want to catch up for next week.
1. I don't think kb will be an issue to worry about. It makes things more exciting. I know I was really thinking of doing storm summoning but I didn't want to do another MM or Corruptor.
2. When you said SS/SR brute, I was expecting Ryu or Bruce Lee or something.
3. Nin/Nin Stalker is just so obvious it took a lot for me to not just default to it. I did a dominator in order to leave melee spots open to others.

OK, so my old job called me back for another couple weeks. it looks like i will be about an hour late to join this week (and next).
So, in this case I would recomend you guys start up the next Gen characters and i will join you when i get home. Just dont do the bank robbery mission without me! should be np since you have to do 3 radio's first.
Also, I MIGHT have a friend getting back into the game this week or next. he hasnt played in years, but im gonna try and get him into our group if his schedule allows.

As for the next generation, adding new people is fine but I am starting to think going past 8 as we had discussed before is not such a good idea. The whole "sign up so we who know who is coming" attempt has been a bomb, and without that I think we will spend half our time online splitting up the teams and deciding who's doing what.
I say we get to 8 and cap it. But I would be interested to hear everyone else's thoughts.
Along those lines, MX we haven't heard from you in a while and the new generation will be starting this week. Are you still in?
