My 15 year old kitty Oliver. He passed away 2 weeks ago after being diagnosed with cancer.
2nd Pic
Sorry for your loss, Niv. It always sucks. That said, 15 years is a damn fine run for a cat. He was obviously well taken care of.
Be well, people of CoH.

My condolences on Oliver's passing.

Sorry about your cat Niv. Here is a pic of me and my siberian husky Aaliyah. I also have a german shepherd pup but don't have any pics yet.

We just adopted a Great Dane from a nearby Great Dane Rescue. Her name is Ditto.
Ditto and me.
Ditto and my wife.
She's a silly puppy.
Ditto meets Eddie.
I'm sorry for your loss Niviene. I know how you feel. We had to put Cara to sleep a little less than two weeks ago. She was very special to everyone in our family.
Wow, this will likely sound stupid but I never realized how big Great Danes are !!! im not sure id wqant a dog that can use me as a chew toy :P
And she's a small one! The foster parents had two males who were twice as big as her. The biggest, Amtrak, is 180 lbs. and probably six inches taller floor to shoulders. His head was as big as my chest.
They are probably the sweetest breed I've ever encountered though. Very quiet, very gentle. All she wants to do is be near us. Danes are just overgrown lap dogs (and they will try to get on your lap).
Poor Eddie is not too keen on her yet.

Wow, Ditto is an absolutely gorgeous dog!
Here are my two guinea pigs: Ginger was a rescue. She had a bad case of lice and old age, but a few trips to the vet and the first condition was alleviated. Sadly, there isn't much that can be done for the second and she passed only a few months after.
Spike (named for his rather, er, interesting, hair pattern) He's incredibly mischievous, and quite smart (for a guinea pig). Sadly, he has to stay with my parents while I'm at Uni...

She only outweighs him by 100 times, the little scaredy-ferret.
I recently went to a farm where there were 5 Newfies. I think a group of those is called a "stampede." Nice dogs (if you weren't prey), but oh my god were they huge. The smallest was a 9-month old, about the weight of Ditto there. Not nearly as tall, though, but twice as drooly.

Heh, I once saw a Newfie (in Newfoundland, of all places ) tied to a deck with a rope the size of my arm. When I remarked on the strength of rope need to hold that dog down, the owner replied that it was only for show. Lief (the dog) was as gentle as could be, but if he wanted to go somewhere in a hurry, the rope wouldn't break, the deck he was tied to would.
I wish I could have a pet where I live. I also wish I could afford one.
Newfie Ad
While this isn't a pic of a dog, I did find an interesting ad for a handgun in NewfieLand
Way past due, but thanks for the compliments guys!
Also, I got another rescue, his name is Ivan. I've been wanting a German Shepherd for a long time now, and though I didn't have a white one in mind to begin with, he won me over pretty quickly.
Handsome fellow!

Made the mistake of breaking up a fight between my two jack russels and one of them bit deeply into my important hand breaking the skin and looking very apologetic afterwards as I did the dance of pain .
but now its all bruisey so expect twice the typos and lack of puncuation as I type with my unimportant or left hand :P
Also not able to ink tonight

Same thing happened to my wife when she got in between our Akita and one of our cats. The Akita got her important hand too, though it was the left one in her case. Dante, the akita, got the same look on her face too, that "oh crap what did I just do" look. After taking her to the emergancy room for stitches and shots, she told me the drugs they gave her were making the traffic lights melt into the ground. Of course she wouldn't share. This was a few years ago and and pets got along fine afterwards.
I wish you a speedy recovery.

What a beautiful pup.
A couple weeks ago I had to put down one of my dogs, Fred. (His picture can be seen earlier in the thread.) I was sadder than I expected to be, since he was a cranky little bastage who had decided I'd given him one bath too many, and had taken to biting me to express his displeasure with my existence. I don't know what his life was like before he came here at 12 (probably bad, since I've never met a mean Pug and he was a borderline case), but the past 4.5 years he had a good life.
Adios, Fred.

Thanks for that, everyone. He was a little doodyhead at times, but I do miss him. All in all, though, it's not as bad as what Juggertha just went through, losing his mom, and Fred did have a good life when all was said and done.
