You heard it first... the "Coming Storm" in I13 is DeviantArt.com.
Ehhh someone got a burr up their butt and wanted to start a fight , thats pretty much what the thread boiled down to .
Not so much an actual "Zomg im offended " as "Geez im bored who can I troll now " .
That being said I didn't see anything wrong with the picture in question but I can see where some might and the squeeky wheel
gets the most grease is a sad but true fact .
anytime I post something that might be dicey I get it in my head in advance that it may be modded or deleted so im not worked up when it happens .
The easiest trick of course is not to provide a direct link to anything dicey and merely point out that aside from the two pictures your linking from DA you have an additional third image that is new on your site .
It's neatly simple and follows all the guidelines in a round about fashion that keeps the mods jobs easy and infuriates trolls

I certainly hope this never happens. I got my DA account yesterday and would hate to have to take it out of my sig so soon.
I personally feel that asking to take out our Deviant links for containing "obscene material" is pretty unnecessary. I have all my nudes marked as "strict access" (even though I feel it's pretty overboard for the art I've done, one can never be too careful). Anyone who clicks on a DA link with works with these settings, they will not see anything unless they're signed into a DA account and said that they're 18+ when they signed up for said account. I've noticed that most of the other folks in this forum are pretty good about setting their works that may offend to "strict access" as well. Since those that have DA links have been responsible about the display of their "potentially obscene" works, I'd consider the mods asking us to take out or DA links to be a gross overreaction. We can't control whether or not a minor signs up for a DA account and lies about their age...there's no need to punish those who are doing their part and are being responsible.
I was tempted to start a new thread on this since certain other people in the last thread were pissing me off.

Nudity in art is not immoral or indecent at all. It's an American born fallacy that dictates that it's immoral.
It goes much farther back to more prehistoric civilizations but the Greeks were one of the earliest civilizations that embraced the nudity of the human body as a thing of beauty. It's a tradition in art that was quite wide spread until Roman Catholic church started their "Fig Leaf Campaign" against various pieces of art from Renaissance artist such as the statue of David by Michelangelo. The church eventually retracted such things but there were protestant groups that branched off and promoted otherwise. The most important of which were the Puritans who helped populate North America and whose ideals have been carried through the United States history to this day.

Actually in this case ComradeHero asked his thread to be locked because it had strayed off topic , So id wager we are in the clear .
Still when in doubt ask a mod :P I've pestered Ex Libris in the past for permission to start up threads that have been locked on virtue before (contrary to popular oponion she dosn't eat babies or bathe in the blood of new forumers with bad spelling )
besides as a resident hot head and forum scrapper you really need to work at doing something to get banned and are usually given enough warnings to let your alarm klaxons go off :P

Actually, that is a simple and effective idea.
And yes, I did ask for the thread to be locked. As a point of discussion it was applicable to the thread in question, but not the right venue.
Art will always be subjective and will always be open to interpretation.
