I like it! I especially like how the mobs are perfectly positioned for a Whirling Hands type attack!

Very nice piece. 
I debated on whether I was gonna mention this or not, but it'd been a bit better if there'd been a bit more of an 'organic' look to the ambush spawn. Having them all seperated seems a little unrealistic to me...
But that's honestly a minor thing, and hence why I debated whether I was even going to point it out. Still a very nice piece despite that.

You are correct also in that I had to blend in game items and out of game drawing together. I began drawing individuals, first the big guy Randall Grey.....then I started doing the VEATS..........(note a couple of the widows) then realized for free quick art (which I classify as being done in a day or less) it was kicking my butt. Plus my wife wanted some quality time of me off the computer.
So I ported in some extra figures in the need for speed, and realism using 3d models--and in some cases body parts, added some color, a dash of lighting trickery--and hey you got yourself a big fight on your hands!

[/ QUOTE ] I am from Oklahoma, very slow, and a terrible artist (i.e. not one day of training--anything I know is from watching you guys and listening to Lady J whenever possible tell me what I did wrong). Can you explain what you mean a bit more, I am not following (yet

What I meant was.. maybe have some of the Night Widows amongst the Wolf Spiders, and vice versa. When you cluster up mobs like that, they tend to sort of blend together in their ravening hunger for your flesh (or soul, as the case may be).
As I said, though, it was a really minor thing. Only pointed it out as a future reference point!

[/ QUOTE ] Great point. I should have done that on the sides. I started to put a widow behind him, but the Tank quickly blocked seeing her....I should have done a better job with that. Unfortunately all my layers are combined and lighted now. I need to start saving all my bits and pieces as a separate file I can go back later and edit. 
Maybe it was my subconsious ID making me place the female VEATS where I did. lol jk

Ya know what could help? Male Widows and Female Wolf spiders. That way you can have the big guys in the back the small ladies in the front and you won't clump all the widows and wolf spiders all together
