Where did the MMOART crew go?

Hey guys,

Junkyard King's creator here and I just wanted to ask if any of you art connoisseurs know what happened to Jamaro and his wife over at MMOART. They seem to have dropped off the map since their October 14 move. I'm still patiently *twitch* waiting for my piece and I can't seem to reach them by e-mail.

Thanks!

I haven't heard anything at all. I've been on the list for over a year, so I hope things are still going along well.

I do know that the DA page had a couple uploads about 6 weeks ago, which was about that same time, and someone's been on there in the last week or so.

I just talked to Jomaro via e-mail a couple of times, so they're still around and answering mail

Oh great, maybe I have been using the wrong e-mail address. Is it not support@mmoart.com?

I thought that was it (minus the question mark).

sales@mmoart.com might also be worth trying.

Still no changes to the MMOArt website?

I emailed 'em a few times - both at support@mmoart.com and at gillbates@mmoart.com - over the past few weeks and have not received any response.

Obviously Starchasm has heard from them, so I guess they're all still alive and well. ..and I know its the holidays and all, too. But I sure wish there were some official word.

In ANY case, I wish them the very best.

I too have sent them a few emails over the past few weeks with no response, im hoping that they werent sent to the spam filter as some of mine have been through in the past. (Does that mean I email them too much? )

I'm hoping everything is okay as well, its not like them to be this quiet.

According to their myspace page, someone logged in yesterday.

I've been wondering what's up with them lately.

Don't know.

I hope all is OK.

No idea about them either. I do know though that someone who won the costume contest for the CuppaJo party, was having a fit on the forums last year because he never got even a sketch after 6 months.

Hate to tell you this, but most places will put paying customers first. Contest winners sometimes get very very low priority, and some never see pieces.

It's a very bad advertisement though... the reason those contests are good is they show off a company. Stiffing a contest winner is tantamount to ripping off a customer.

ah the monthly "poke MMOART with a stick to see if it is still alive" thread.

..um, sorry - not meaning to stir up trouble. Just honestly concerned.

Well it's starting to smell in the corner... If it's dead it'd dead, but if not it needs to shower...

Well, a paying customer will always come first to most big name artists. The contest winners will get something eventually, but it could take years. I know many people are having issues getting in touch with them, including paying customers.

Gill is a great guy... and there is no question that his art is top bar...

but nothing of the sort should take "years".

QFT This is why I will never commission him, despite the amazing artwork.

He takes too long?

Well consider that he was put out of action for a long time when he suffered that chemical burn to his lungs a while back. That kind of injury can screw you for decades afterward, if not kill you outright.

So I would think that he's having to slow down on the artwork, plus dig thru the backlog of commissions that weren't worked on while he was recovering.

Not seeing anything new on the MMOART site is disheartening though.

Aye, I'd at least like to know how he's doing and such. Personally, I've never gotten any art from him... but I've been mulling it over for a while. I'd love to see his take on Juggertha.

That being said, there's no way I'm patient enough to sit on a list for a year (after paying?).

Again, I think Gill's cool... and I think he's got a gold mine here in what he's doing. I just hope he hasn't taken his eye's off the ball.

Well...

All i can say is that i have been in touch with Jomaro both online and on the phone and hes back at it. I know this because i have seen WIP's of a piece thats been in his queue for a couple years now and is almost complete.

I can tell you that the piece is almost complete and that it will be posted up soon (tm)

And yeah i know this because it's Aot's piece!

So he's at the drawing table and i let him know bout this thread as well. Beyond that i hvae nothing more to give ya guys at the moment.
