Fun with the Character Select screens

Fun With CoX Splasher.

I know cross threading is bad, but I wanted to share this with more than just my server. I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum to post this, but it seemed the most appropriate.

I had previously removed the Lord Recluse statue from Grandville's tower entry hall and had been saying that I was going to go to back and remove another one of the statues from the main hall of Recluse's tower; so I finally got off of my hands and did it.

This is Scirocco's, or is it Ghost Widow's, Mako's or Scorp's statue base. I know which it is, but I'll never tell, see if you can guess. This picture, like all of the rest, is in 1280x768 resolution. If you would like to use it for your own select screen, you will of course need to trim it to your own screen resolution (removing 128 pixels from each side, for example, if you are using a 4x3 aspect ratio) and then deform it to 1024x768 (if necessary). The splasher only accepts 1024x768 images, but if you squash the image, the splasher will stretch it back out to fit your screen resolution.

Now on to the show

Grandville:
Lord Recluse's Platform. - This is the image I showed in the original thread, sans my characters to cloud the image. The image is panned down and to the right a bit because it is better for the characters' feet. If you use the borders as suggested in the splasher, you won't notice at all.

Grandville Archvillain Platform - One of the four platforms that surround the Lord Recluse statue with its statue and footlights removed.

Atlas Park:
In this picture, our intrepid hero has taken on Atlas himself. The titanic Atlas was more than a match for our him, so he had to enlist the help of a mad scientist who invented a giganto-ray. After using the ray upon himself, he stepped up to the mighty Atlas and wrested the giant off of his throne before the City Hall. The Titan of Paragon acknowledged his loss and went off to chat up the Statue of Liberty, leaving our brave hero to take his place on the stage of the honoured.

It looks nice to me, but my eyes are blurred from a lack of sleep, so I'll leave it up to you all to critique. If you like it, feel free to use it as your own select screen.

For those who wonder, I broke no rules, regulations or codes for any of these screens.

Miscellaneous

Elevators:
It was requested of me to post the elevator select screens I made; who am I to say no when I'm already sharing my better works?

Elevator 1

Elevator 2

Elevator 3

Elevator 4

Elevator 5

Gargoyle:
And a building ledge just for fun.

Gargoyle's companion

Final note, I have not tested the elevator select screens. I'm fairly sure they are positioned correctly. If not, they are relatively easy to pan around; the borders will hide quite a bit of space on the sides.

Well, that's all for this episode of "Let's play with CoX and the Splasher instead of sleeping", I'll see you next time.

I'd just like to say this stuff is pretty good, I admire your talent in compositioning screenshots with the character select UI, as well as your ablity to edit out objects normally found in the game.

Wow, I forgot I posted this until someone asked me for links, I was obviously very tired when I did.

Thank you for the wonderful comments, you've made my day ^____^ I'm sorry it took me 6 months to find and reply to this.

Hehe it's fun to guess this one, although if one has been in Grandville enough, familiar with the patron shields, or have the badges for the villain AVs from Recluse's Victory, it's pretty easy to guess which platform that is.

Nice job on all of the screens of angling the screen jsut right and removing the existing statues.

Wow! Thanks for all the awesome feeback ^____^

MarDun, I probably could do it in the daytime, but it's hard to catch Atlas empty like that.

Regarding instructions for set up, the screens being in 1280x768 might make them look not so good on your screen. If you are using a 4X3 screen, you'll want to cut 128 pixels off of each side of the screens, otherwise it will look a bit squished.

DemoEdit?

Using demoediting you can make Atlas empty, and a lot of other places.

I has no demo edit skills >.>

Though if I did, I have an idea for a select screen that will blow you out of the water. I just need 4 people and someone who can either tell me how to, or do the demoedit replacements for me. ^______^

Is there any way to restore the original images to the background?

If so, how?

Not sure, Major...

I think your spaceship knows the way, though...

And it took my right to the search page. Got the info I need and restored my background until I decide on what I want it to be.
Thanks, though.
