Does anyone actually think that the lack of grammar and spelling in that article was not intentional? Have you never seen material mocking l33tspeak kids?

The spelling in that particular article was definitely meant to be that way, otherwise I would have edited it to be more proper.

I loved this edition of the City Scoop

and that's probably because my rallying speech is in it

This does not seem to be attempting to poke fun at "leet speaking kids," for lack of a better term. Its presentation and content that are nowhere near up to the standard of the rest of the scoop. It's JMans "usual," and does not show any degree of care or effort, quite frankly.

If he wants to write in that fashion, make sure it's listed as an RP piece. I'd give it *far* more leeway in that case - I'd still ignore it, but I'd leave it as "It was very 'eh'" as far as commenting on it.

I'm going to say it again - the quality and presentation were very sorely lacking, and not up to the standard of the rest of the CS.

We actually foresaw this issue an added a disclaimer at the top of it in italics. We debated the wording briefly, but that was meant to be the listing you desired.

Ok, first off... I'll be lookin' to see Bonehead/P-HIL on Pinnacle. You better show, dude!!! That was an awesome story, WTG Cyptic/NCSoft and Ex for helpin' him show off bein' 50 at the con. I would say it's not "The Journey's End", but the "Journey Continues" on Pinnacle!

Just send a tell to @bonehead. Also have a PB there now, Agent Feurt - so I guess a New Journy Begins.

But still I fear and still I dare not laugh at the madman!

I've got to disagree with the pruning. What's left does not leave the resolution to the posts that you did end up leaving, which is a much more upbeat situation than what this thread currently shows. What's left is what started all the ugliness.

Understandable. Unfortunately, the forum software doesn't allow for very neat pruning of posts. By removing one of the "mean spirited" posts from early on, it took out most of the remaining thread.

At this point we can only ask for people to play nice and observe the posted speed limits. Thanks!

Can you put the offending post back but edit everything out of it? It'd be basically an empty post but the rest of the post tree would be intact... as well as some other posts...

On second thought, never mind.

I think Bill and Muad got the point, as well as anyone reading it.

That's what is truly important to me.

As much as this discussion thread allows people to share their love for our virtually flawless fanzine ( ), the City Scoop staffers use it to glean feedback, which is why a lot of the fighting happened here as opposed to elsewhere.

The team has already gone back and forth and reached a decision on how we, as City Scoop, feel about this entire trowdown.

So, while it sucks that the big trim happened, the intent of all the messages was successful, so it wasn't too big a loss.

Ok, I'm highly curious after reading through this whole thread. But I'll focus on what I came here for.

Great Scoop peeps! I enjoyed it, well put together. Great art also. I love the fan art scattered throughout every edition.
Thanks for more call to arms speeches- keep them comin.

YAY for City of Zeroes!!!! The bet CoH comic in existence, in my opinion. So glad to see you again Derek. You don't know me, but I'm secretly an obsessed fan!!! * drools *

Question in regards to the fan art used in the City Scoop , are you actually asking the artists or owners about its use or simply asuming they want it used in your publication ?

I know a few friends that have had things used and were not contacted and while they aren't mad it does seem to irk them from time to time and thus my question .

If that's true, that would be very inappropriate.

However, if someone posts their artwork online for anyone to see, it enters public domain. The only way it can be strictly prohibited from others' use is if the artist makes known on either the artwork on or the post that the picture is to only be used with the express permission of said artist.

Otherwise, a non-profit entity like City Scoop could reuse it so long as they are accrediting the artist.

Still, though, it is extremely discourteous and someone should apologise if what you're saying is true, Scarf Girl.

I'll pass that along to my friends and thank you for the clarification .

It is bothersome that they would do it without at least asking the artists as they seem to be about the working with and through the community and attempting to bring diverse sections of the player base together.

but its nothing i'll get worked up over and mainly just wanted clarification.

Thanks again

I apologize about posting the Scoop entries without getting notification first. I am not putting blame on anyone, but when I first joined the Scoop, I was told to collect the art and pass it on... I wasn't really informed to do much else. I kind of got tossed into the mix. However, I have made this thread to avoid any problems in the future. This way, if someone has something they want submitted over another piece (usually, if theres multiples I'll choose my favorite of the pieces which can be unfair), they can choose that way too.

Again, sorry for any miscommunication.

Wow. I am so glad you pruned this thread. I thought it was a real shame what happened. Thank you very much mods.

Thanx very much houtex and ElectraOutlaw for your kind comments about CoZ! I am very excited to be working on this new series and especially to be working with such a professional group of people as the City Scoop team.
