Thanks for the kind words all. I think I might be coming back in the next month or so. I played around a bit yesterday, kept it low key so I could just do some looking. I don't like the invention crap at all. I am curious about the Vanguard armor though. Does anyone have pics? How easy is it to get? Will the ability to aquire these pieces be perpetual, or are they just event related?
To grab a full set of Vanguard Armor it takes something like 1050 (or more) Vanguard Merits, which are a new type of special salvage that is treated like currency at the Vanguard Base.
After completing the initial "Welcome to Vanguard" missions, your character will from then on earn Vanguard Merits when fighting Rikti. They are random drops and can take quite a while to earn. However, there is a "mini game" in the newly revamped Rikti War Zone (formerly the Rikti Crash Site) that is the fastest way to earn Merits.
Participating in Rikti Mothership Bombing Raids, which involve first running around the zone with your team(s) and taking out the Rikti Pylons in order to drop the Mothership's shield. Once the shield is down, the team(s) then moves to the ship where you will attempt to plant bombs while fighting off hordes of Rikti, and if you survive long enough, you will battle a brand new Rikti Giant Monster-class enemy, all the while earning heaps of Merits.
It's a time consuming process, but the Vanguard Armor is a pretty sweet looking costume set. I do think some of the pieces are severely overpriced, but what do I know?

Thanks! That armor looks soooo cool! It disappoints me greatly, however, to find out that it takes way too much effort to obtain all the pieces. And waiting until you're at least level 35? That's pure crap.
Yeah, I've given up on most of that crap. If something lucky drops, yay for me. Otherwise, I just use Wentworths to sell stuff to other suckers. (Rockets not bitter at all)
