Damn... Awesome, as usual.

I have got to shake all the loose change out of my couch to get one of these.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take for a render? I'm guessing you do draft renders before a final high-res render...

Each piece takes on it's own character, but I'd estimate an average of between 20 - 40 hours spent from concept to completion. I do several raw renders until I get the pose and lighting I like, then I need to build the backdrop (which often takes the longest to render). Finally, I spend a couple hours compositing and photoshopping the pieces together.

Sometimes, I need several drafts before I get to a good base, and other times they just come together.

I love your poser stuff.

I have another question. How much was done in poser and how much is done in photoshop for this piece?

Awesome as always. You sir are a king of your craft.

The girl was done in Poser, but as usual I didn't like the face or hair. I did extensive post-work on everything above the neck to bring the face to life, and the hair is a complete repaint. The cape is also entirely photoshopped. As for the body, all I did was correct some stray shadows.

Awesome work, Doug, this is one of my favorites!

Outstanding work!!!

You always amaze me how every piece is better than the last.

I always think to myself "this is the best piece ever!" and you prove me wrong every time with the next one.

I really love that one.

Beautiful, these just keep getting better and better. One of these days I'll have enough coinage flying about to get one done. Though I do have a couple questions about rendering when the time comes.

Huron: "...with Coffee primary / Attitude secondary"
Charnage: "Please. Think of the poor defenseless desks."

"The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. It failed... In the year of the Praetorian War, it became something greater... our last, best hope for victory."

Awesome. I love the detail shots. Makes me really grasp the level of work you put in these things. Excellent.

Awesome! I'm always amazed at how beautiful your cityscapes look.

Doug has a tuturial on his site that should be enlightening.

Really like this one DJ. It seems to kind of harken back to your earlier stuff (can I say Harken?). Which is a good thing I think. Very nice look to the face/hair. Also liked the energy glow on her hand.

whoa.

YUMMY.

The thing that strikes me about Doug's work is, he always manages to get great expressions into the faces. That to me is EXTREMELY tricky to do.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

Do you have a package with the CoH costumes, or did you have to make your own flared parts.

as usual, awsometastic work.

I've mentioned before that 3d renders don't strike me like good old pencils and inks, but I gotta say, I really like this one DJ.

Be well, people of CoH.
