Ryuu drew his blade and eyed the fight sternly, his voice little higher than a whisper,"So are we ready to throw ourselves into the fight again? I have no fear of death, because it is something one can only do once." He couldn't help but grin as his brow furrowed down, his free hand pulled his second blade. He now was holding each blade in each hand, ready for a full out attack, no holding back.

Shadow Pyre glanced over at Ryuu as he drew his second blade. He wasn't sure what he had planned, but his only intention was to foil the escape attempt. Then again, a bit of caution wouldn't hurt either.

"Alright then, stay close to me. Whoever reaches him first try to pull him free from the vortex without getting pulled in yourself." he said as he prepared to move.

They'd have to act fast, as near as he could tell whoever was summoning him was almost finished. He just hoped they didn't get pulled in themselves as there was no telling what was waiting for them on the other side and he really hated surprises.

"Ready? Let's go!" Pyre cried, dashing towards their target.

“Wait! What is it we’re trying to accomplish!?” Kanata shouted just as Pyre charged forward. Kanata didn’t hesitate and was speeding toward the assassin while holding his Kantetsu in his left. When he was in range, he reached for Hikaru’s leg.

((Alright, let’s get going with this. Would like to get to more character development eventually.))

The air pressure in the room had dropped substantially by the time Kana reached for Hikaru’s leg. The darkness swirled around his figures, leaving behind an eerie cold feeling behind. It seemed to follow Kanata’s body as well… Not only follow, but it seemed to try and swallow him whole.

But the darkness could only move so fast, and by the time Kanata had grasped Hikaru’s ankle, pulling him out wouldn’t be a problem. And I’m assuming that’s what he did.

Kanata pulled out the limp body, leaving the darkness behind. Other small portions of the shadows faded as soon as the light reached them, trying to flee back to the gloominess of the shadow, just under the tree.

Lesson #1: It is much easier to perform dark magic in the darkness or shadows of world.

--------------------------------

Darkness’ servant cursed as her target fled from the teleportation dome. She had to try to regain his position, but it would take time to find those engulfed within the light.

Words began to leave her unnaturally purple colored lips as she restarted her spell to find her target and repeat the ritual once more. While she was tired, the last thing she wanted to do was to go back to her master and state her failure.

Lesson #2: Darkness when angry = BAAAAD picture…

Toru's face lit up with anticipation as Ryuu drew his blades. She took a step forward so she was no longer behind him, but beside him. Tension coiled like springs in her limbs, eager to expend the adrenaline roaring through her veins like a raging river. Her deft fingers withdrew throwing daggers from within her Gi as she took up a fighting stance beside her brother.

Her gaze locked on their target as she took aim. "Are you ready brother?" she murmurred to him. With that, she let her daggers fly..........

"Lets show them why we were guard," he announced as he charged holding his blades back the points coming together in a wedge infront of him.

His feet flew across the floor lightly his exhaustion barely effecting his technique. His legs tensed as he prepaired to launch himself into the air.

Toru's fatigue faded a bit more with each surge of adrenaline. Her pulse raced but her mind was uncharacteristically calm as she charged after her brother

((OOC: Ok, now what are we waiting for? I already did my part. Kanata has succesfully grabbed Hikaru's ankle, and the demoness herself is trying to get a lock on Hikaru, even through the light of day. And I'm still wondering why you two are attacking my corpse.

*My plot twist sense is tingling!*

((Hm...I should probably interject then. ))

Just outside the grounds, at the dojo's entryway, two figures appeared in thin air. To any sort of sensor, whether technological, arcane, or any other working principle, their method of travel would have been identified as 'teleportation'.

"So this is it?" questioned the taller (indeed, very tall) person of the shorter one, covered in a heavy gray cloak and hood.

"Indeed." sighed that figure to the crimson-robed man, and though neither's eyes could be seen for respective reasons - the tall man's large bamboo coolie obscure his in the manner of a Tsoo sorcerer while the cloaked figure's hood didn't let enough light in to view the face - he could almost be seen rolling his eyes, "Why do you always have to question my sense of direction? You know very well this is statistically the safest method of travel."

The tall man shrugged, the fingerless wraps of black cloth on his arms shifting as he moved, "I can't help it. Still gives me the willies every time."

"You're hopeless." responded the cloaked figure with a shake of the head.

The two stepped ahead...

((So when is that interjection coming?))

Having pulled the assailant from the churning shadows, Kanata forced himself to back away. This ninjutsu….it seems familiar. Could it be him doing this? Kantetsu seems distant from me now. After finally experiencing it, he didn’t want anything to do with these dark powers when the darkness began flowing again. “…no……this sorcery will cling to anything that touches it,” Kanata muttered to himself.

Still unsure of these happenings, Kanata continued to back away, swinging his Kantetsu behind him and into the strap that was tied over his chest. “I am sorry but I shan’t put myself in that position again. I mustn’t tread into such magics for fear of tainting my family’s sacred weapon.” Bowing his head to the others, Kanata left their company to his quarters.

Upon reaching his room, the first thing he did was remove his weapon and lay if flat before a picture of a man who had similar features to his own, deep purple hair that flowed over his shoulders wildly, light violet eyes and a similar shaped jaw. “I should have readied the Datotsuichi level one before doing that,” he sighed and lit a few inscents near the framed picture. He said a quick prayer before finally removing some of the armor he was wearing under his keikogi and standing to move to one corner of his room. “I suppose I should eat something before some new stranger arrives to take over the dojo,” he said with a spark of sarcasm.

((Actually, that was it. I thought the place would have...you know, guards or something. Or at least some sort of basic security system. Guess not. ))

"That's odd." commented the figure in the gray cloak as the gates swung wide open at his touch, "Where is everyone?"

The two stepped through the entry gate, making their way down the path that lay just beyond, both rather puzzled as to what was going on here.

"You think...?" the tall man started to question, but the concealed figure shook his head, "Nah, there'd be a big mess everywhere. Still..."

A click could be heard from underneath the cloak, "Can't be too careful, I guess. Might just be my paranoia again, but a dojo with no students in sight isn’t something that falls under ‘completely not suspicious’ in my book."

The robed man nodded as they walked past the entry and into the central building...

((Well if there were guards, I wouldn't have any way to control them. I figure only two posters would know anything about it. Also, I'm sure the intruder/sleep spell would have made the place easier to infiltrate.))

((OOC: Yes, all the students and senseis are asleep except for Kanata, Jase, Pyre, Toru, Ryuu, and porbably one or two senseis. The spell IS wearing off. (Less then level one.) But it will still take a couple of hours before everyone wakes back up.

The spell will probably regain a lock on its target in about 20 more pages. Other then that, I am now officially useless in this RP 'till the Wolf stops attacking my corpse and enough time has past. 'Nuff said.

The daggers rang out, their song slipping quickly into the air and echoing down the hallway. Then they hit the floor in rapid succession, one after another simply clattering to the ground.

They had hit something.

Ryuu's wedge of blades hit the same thing - only this time, it showed itself. A previously invisible hemisphere flared up pale-blue over the unconscious Hikaru, forming a protective barrier of force over the man.

But only for a moment, then it faded into obscurity again. it hadn't resumed its unseen status; it was simply no longer there.

"So, this is the way the Dragon fights here, hm?" came a voice from behind the group, filled with the tone of disappointment, "I have to say, I expected better."

It was the tall man who spoke, the figure in the heavy gray cloak standing silently next to him. Who had been the cause of the force barrier wasn't sure, but one of them had to have been it...right?

"Now," the tall, robed man continued, "I'm not entirely expecting a positive response to this, but what is going on here? Why is everyone asleep on the job? And why are you trying to slice up someone who best i can tell is already K.O....?"

((OOC: Oh! Very nice comeback!

But still, you are going to have to do a VERY long conversation or fight with the Dojo before I can wake up Yuri, or think of some good plot twist.

Anyway.... Thanks for rezzing the RP!

In his room, the smell of beef, vegetables and potatoes consumed every corner of his organized apartment. At the moment, Kanata had been organizing the underarmor he was wearing on the armor stand with the rest of the set. The armor slightly resembled samurai armor but with a more sleek and attractive design specifically created for him when he was twelve. The problem though, was he had never actually worn it. It was specially built to be easily modified and repaired by the wearer but the material it was made of is something unique. The glossy black metallic sheen in some of the parts that shone strongly implied durability, strength and style but what might not be noticed is its extreme weight. Kanata sighed to himself as he stared at the mannequin dressed in his armor. “How will I ever accomplish what he has….”

The weight from the sleep spell, which he seemed to have no protection against, was taking its toll on him once again and his eyes fluttered with fatigue. “Oh no…I guess I will just take a little nap after I…..*YAAAWN!*…..finish cooking.” His mind went on auto-pilot as he pulled out a loose shirt to wear to sleep from his trunk of clothes and took off his keikogi. He would have continued to undress had his mind not be brought to attention by a faint noise at his window. He turned to see Jase reclining on the window sill. Kanata pulled his now folded keikogi up to his bare chest in an attempt to cover himself and grinned nervously. “Hello….what are you doing in my room?”

Jase stared at him for a moment more before smirking and turning his eyes outside the window. “I was hungry and I smelled food.”

Kanata blinked them smiled. “Oh, well I can share my meal with you, if you would like.” He unfolded his keikogi again and draped it over his shoulders. “I am not the best cook but it’s better than rice and water, right?”

With hesitation, Jase slid off the window and sat at the small square table near where Kanata was preparing the food. “I was actually planning to steal it while you weren’t looking but….”

“….but what?” Kanata queried.

“….but,” Jase continued, “you tried to stand up for me back there against that sword guy even when I didn’t ask you. I was having second doubts about taking your food which is when you found me out.”

“So that is why you dropped that pebble so I would realize you were there?” Kanata asked looking toward the window and at the small rock that rested on the wooden floor boards.

“Heh, well your head was out to lunch so I figured it would be too easy to take your food,” Jase added with a smirk.

“Yes….I feel unnaturally tired today….I usually just eat when I feel like this but I doubt it will help,” Kanata said with a nod and a yawn. “I thought if I moved away from the other students, I could wake myself up and revitalize myself so I could help but it is not working. I cannot perform any useful naginatajutsu in this state.”

Jase tried not to acknowledge the previous ordeal but his wrist was beginning to ache again so he would remain one handed for a while. “What did you mean when you said ‘how could you accomplish what he did’ before you noticed me?” Jase asked in an attempt to change the subject. “Who were you talkin’ about?”

“I was talking about my older brother. He was such a great fighter….he was many times stronger than me at my age and I just cannot see how I could ever match him….but I would rather not….*YAAAWN* talk about that now,” Kanata responded and rested a few more dishes on the table for his guest.

“….so back when you swore on your sister’s grave that you threw those rocks…..you don’t have a sister, do you?”

Kanata flashed a weary smile, “I guess you caught me.”

“But your brother is dead.”

Kanata didn’t reply and stared silently at the floor. He was sad, frustrated, annoyed and jealous all at the same time knowing that his brother had mastered all his family’s techniques and could wield the Kantetsu efficiently by his age while Kanata himself could only manage the Datotsuichi level two. Not to mention, Kanata still had to worry about the one who defeated his superior brother.

It wasn’t apparent how long he was lost in his own thoughts but Kanata was finally brought back to reality when the steaming hot food was placed before him by Jase. “Careful, you don’t want to overcook it,” Jase said with a smile. “Eat up before it gets cold.”

Yuri still lay on the bed... Sleeping...

Her chest rose and fell...

Rose and fell...

Rose and fell...

Rose...

And fell...

Fell...

Watching paint dry is better then this!

------------------

Hikaru still lay on the floor... Dead... Y'know, you would think someone would at least mop up the dead guy and flush him down a toilet.

Darkness Foretold stood up from the corner of his room... Then he walked to another corner and sat down. For a maniac, this guy is a boring mess.

Servant finally had a lock!

...

Ok, no she didn't. She sighed to herself before resuming the ritual. This was going to be harder then she thought.

Toru watched her daggers clatter to the floor, the finely crafted weapons glinting harmlessly in the mid afternoon sun. Her expression was one of confusion touched with a bit of amusement. She looked to the inert figure on the floor. The vortex of magic seemed to have dissipated, but she could still feel dark power crawling across her skin, nearly taste it.

"Well, aren't we the rude one?" the tall robed man retorted, crossing his arms, "I wasn't even addressing you. Why, I'd say..."

"Oh, come off it." sighed the figure in the heavy cloak, "His name's Ryuu Hotaka, and me they call Acid. Don't ask why, long story. But I gotta agree here, why're yalls trying to mangle up the KO'd guy? And why is just about everyone here asleep on the job? I mean, this is supposed to be a dojo, a school, right? If this happened while I'm teaching at the Academy, I know for a fact I'd break all hell loose..."
