Dojo of the Lurking Shadow (open RP)
Ryuu held his glare, his face remaining placid and emotionless, fear was something that didn't come easily to him and when it did he learned to twist it to his advantage long ago. He shook his head slowly not saying another word.
His actions and posture seemed meek and unintimidating as under the surface he was tense and ready to spring an attack, the thought of not holding back runing in the back of his mind as the obviously threatning vibe was spread throught the air.
He laughed to himself under his expressionless face, He did not intend to start a fight, but would preform his purpose if needed. In truth he had longed to kill again, in an honorable fashion of coarse, but constantly having to hold himself back began to take its toll on his will.
"There are things that come with being a twin, and there are things that come from looking into one's eyes," his tone remained unthreatening as he challenged Jase's smirk silently. He was ready to fight to the death everyday of his life, he lived the replacable life of an emperial guard.
Kanata thought seriously on Ryuus words for a moment before shaking his head to dismiss further debate in his mind. He laughed out loud in a mocking manner, although he didnt seem good at it. Haha, such superstitions have no holdings in facts. You have no proof that guy has done anyone any harm and without evidence any quarrels over it are meaningless.
Kanata now stepped around to put himself infront of Jase, his left arm stretched out as a barrier between the two and now facing Ryuu.
if you are not going to confront me, the one who started this whole mess, then I suggest you move along.
Jase stood silent, his gaze still unblinking. If Ryuu was still staring, then Kanatas voice would have sounded as if he was still standing behind him. The voices and breathing of the group of students would multiply and seem as if drawing closer, the smell of fire and blood, the sensation of falling. The senses of sight, sound, smell, touch and to a lesser degree, balance would become less and less reliable so long as Jase could find a connection and exploit it. Although there may be some resistant to his mutant power, he had never met anyone immune to it.
Yuri walked Toru out of the garden and into just outside the Dojos infirmary. My name is Yuri, She started. I am sorry about what had happened. I wish for you to accept my apology; I should have been the one to get hit.
Yuri spoke calmly, but quickly with her Chinese accent. She paused for a moment and bit her lip. I fear for your brothers safety. We must go back to the garden, but we cannot be revealed. Someone might get hurt.

((hehehe no law against short posts...i'm guilty of making a few myself in the shadow manor thread hehehe. still is great to have you here, no matter how long or short your addition may be ))
Toru followed the young girl out of the Garden, distracted by her thoughts so that she almost collided with her outside the infirmary. The young woman spoke in a calm quick tone, her accent heavily Chinese.

Toru offered Yuri a small but polite smile, some thing she rarely did for anyone. Unaccustomed to soothing other's concerns, she hesitated, placing an awkward hand on Yuri's shoulder.
"Do not blame yourself Yuri," she whispered so as not to draw attention from anyone that might be lurking nearby. "I knew what I was doing when I dropped from the tree. Better I be hit than my brother." her mouth formed a grim line of determination.
Yuri spoke once more.

Toru nodded, "I agree. I wish to know my brother hasn't gotten himself into trouble. That's my job..." she winked at Yuri, chuckling softly. Toru was one to keep to herself a majority of the time. But something about this soft-spoken girl made her feel as if they might actually become friends one day......
Yuri smiled slightly, moving a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Alright, be careful... Toru..." She smiled again before turning and running down the hall at a little over half of her full speed, which was still faster then a speed runner on the Olympic track team.
Yuri placed one foot in front of the other without making any noise, just as her master had taught her. She managed to get back to the entrance of the garden without being noticed, or atleast she thought so.
Around the corner stood Ryuu, Kanata and Jase, but something stopped her before she could move any further. A silver blade pressed lightly against her throat.

-A few minutes earlier

-------------------------------
Hikaru Katashi walked into the entrance of the Dojo; his hand lay motionless on the hilt of his sword. His body was covered in full black patent leather; silver chains wrapped around his arms, legs, shoulders, neck, waist and an X over his chest. He wore a black full mask with a grey slash pattern over his eyes.
Three 8-ball sized pouches hung around his waist, two on the left side, and the other on the right. In the two on the left were many Shuriken, Hira shuriken, needles and smaller versions of Bo-Shuriken. The last one of the right held small smoke pallets, explosive pallets and ninja throwing knifes. On his back was a large shuriken about one and a half feet, the ends of the blades as sharp, or possibly sharper then his blade.
His eyes pierced through even the toughest hearts with intent to kill. Anger filled his body; evil intentions crawled through the building as if death itself had come in the form of millions of deadly spiders traveling in a large group.
As he neared the front desk, he lifted his hands up to his chest. His hands shifted, creating a strange hand symbol resembling a Chinese character. Shortly after doing so, he was invisible.
This art was known as Genjutsu. In battle, he would shift stances from Kenjutsu, Battojutsu and Iaijutsu. Without his sword, he could protect himself very well with Taijutsu or Dakentaijutsu alone. But unlike Yuri, he studied Koppojutsu, and was much more advanced in Ninjutsu.
He walked along the the building without being seen or heard, walking from the entrance to the garden as if he were not there. He had very well seen the short battle, the yound boy who had thrown the pebbles, and the two girls as they walked off. He quickly noted Ryuu, Kanata and Pyre as possible threats. The others remained low priority.
Hikaru wasnt here to learn, but came for the promise of easy meat. He wasnt an animal that came for wild game, he considered killing a sport, especially if he was getting paid. So many contestants, so little time. He wondered who to choose first.
What had caught his eye was Yuri. He had seen her before, and he very well knew her as a threat. Just then, he saw he chance. The young asian girl who had posed a threat to him before, ran silently through the hall suspecting nothing. Hikaru, drew his sword, staying within the shadows.
She ran to the shadows, moving silently along the wall. Just as she was about to look around the corner, the blade rested on her throat, ready to kill.
Trust me, you dont want to go in there. Hikaru said in a deep voice, remaining silent enough for no one else to hear.
Yuris pulse raced, pumping faster and faster from the fear of what she knew may happen if she moved.
Our friends can, and will work this out without you. Hikaru said, letting out a low and gruesome chuckle. Yuri wincedas the blade pressed her throat. Luckily, the result was only the size of a small paper cut, which unfortunately stung.

To him, he was the second deadliest hero/villain, but to the world, he was only third deadliest. He had fought against the second (Which he thought was the first.), and lost, yet he didnt want revenge. No, what he wanted was far worse. (Plot twist! ...Ok, not really. )
Hikaru is considered to be the third most dangerous in the world. This has been proven by the Malta spies that have tracked most heroes around the world. Yuri, on the other hand, is only fifth most dangerous.
Im being modest! One of you might be the most dangerous!
Toru might have heard the words that Hikaru said, depending on how she posts.

Ryuu raised an eye looking at the man who now stood infront of him. "Why do you protect him so? I figure someone who has enough lack of honor to disrupt a duel has enough lack of honor to let someone take the blame for his actions."
He held his stance still unthreatening as his tone became gracefull and smooth, a faint underline of mocking.
Yuri stayed silent in the shadows; Hikaru's blade remained just under her chin. His gaze remained on Yuri; his eyes peered deep into her emotion. Yuri moved her hand toward one of Hikarus shuriken bags.
Hikaru instantly noticed her hand, pushing her against the wall. The blade sunk slightly deeper into her throat. The wound bled slightly, but was not enough for be dangerous or fatal.
Yuris voice was shaky, barely whispering through the pain of the blade. To

Toru watched Yuri take off running, impressed by her speed. She was a mystery, and Toru was glad she'd befriended the girl rather than made an enemy of her. The harmless-looking ones, were often the most dangerous.
Toru waited several moments so as not to create suspicion, then followed the path which Yuri had taken. As she grew nearer to where Yuri had vanished, she heard a low male voice.

Toru side-stepped behind a tree, using it as cover. Peering around the rough bark, she saw Yuri pressed against the wall, a blade at her throat. She sized up the male whom held the sword and winced as she saw the blade draw blood. Silently, Toru reached for the small dagger she kept hidden in the folds of her Gi. She almost never used a weapon, but Ryuu had taught her to use the dagger sufficiently in case of emergencies. Toru felt this qualified as an emergency.
She knew the rules pertaining to violence within the Dojo...but this guy didn't look like one of the students. So she prayed that if she did get caught....the headmaster would take that into consideration.
Moving swiftly, Toru was behind the stranger in a matter of seconds, the tip of her blade pressed firmly against the artery beneath the stranger's sword arm. She angled the blade so that the edge rested against the tendons as well.
"Unless you wish to lose the use of your arm and possibly bleed to death, I suggest you drop your sword." she whispered between her teeth.
Oh good, more players, Hikaru said, chuckling in his low, malicious tone. A menacing grin slipped under his mask. He let go of Yuri and twirled the sword behind him, still facing Yuri. The force hard enough to knock the dagger out of Toru's hand. A resounding -Ping- rang throughout the walls of the Dojo.
Hikaru instantly turned to rush Toru, sending the hilt of his sword aimed for her jaw. The speed was much faster then Yuris half speed, and he was only using under a half of his own! The force was enough to break her bone, and possibly sink deeper into her skull.
Yuri was thinking on her feet as soon as Hikaru let go of her. She dashed in front of Hikaru near her full speed; lifting up her arms to block the hilt. Her arms bruised heavily under the attack.
Hai! She threw an open right handed punch directed at Hikarus chest. He recovered quickly, throwing his katana up in a defensive stance. Yuri's hand made contact with the sword. The metal sunk in to her skin; her hand bled while she fought against the pressure. Blood dripped slowly along the side of the blade.
This all happened in under a seconds
Uhg, Kanata groaned, taking the left arm he was using the block Ryuu and using it to massage his right shoulder which held most of the weight of his naginata. He reached over his shoulder with his right hand, sluggishly and laboriously bringing his weapon over his head. He spun it, without much grace mind you, so the blade was facing to the ground then let it fall. The weapon shook the earth quite easily, and the blade sank into the ground, cracking the stone without much effort. That is much better, he sighed, still rubbing his shoulder and leaning on the weapon to keep it upright.
Jase raised an eyebrow at the seemingly heavy weapon. It wasnt an ordinary weapon but obviously was a disadvantage to the user. He returned his gaze back to Ryuu and Kanata who was now speaking.
I protect no one, not because I choose not to but because there is no one to protect but myself. Im not going to tell you again, it was I who interrupted your duel. On the grave of my deceased sister (let her soul know eternal peace), I say to you that I threw that stone and if you attempt to take out your misgivings on the innocent then you compromise your honor. While Ryuus voice may have grown less aggressive, Kanatas grew more stern and irritated.
Upon returning indoors Shadow Pyre slowed his pace to a walk feeling he had reached a safe distance. He had almost allowed the exhilaration of his battle with Ryuu to feed his annoyance with the boy who assailed his sister, a mistake that could have had dire consequences.
"You would allow your enemy to attack without reprisal?" the voice said, the sound cutting through his thoughts.
"He's just a kid and I would hardly call that an attack." he whispered, hoping that no one was within earshot to hear his seemingly one-sided conversation.
"Though only a child he did draw innocent blood, an act that should be repaid in kind." it sneered.
"I will not give you the boy's blood over an ill-conceived prank." Pyre replied, his voice rising louder than he intended.
He hated being bound to such a blood thirsty being, but it couldn't be helped now. The only solace he took from their symbioses was that its' powers allowed him to further his own ambitions.
"If you will not remit the child's essence, perhaps you would consent for me to partake in a new source of sustenance that has just presented itself? The scent is faint but it has an unequivocally feminine fragrance." the voice asked devilishly.
"Do you really think I'll let you "partake in" the blood of the girl who tried to protect me?" he retorted, no longer showing any concern for potential eavesdroppers.
"It is not her blood I detect, hers has a peculiar tinge to it that I can not readily discern, this aroma is more distinct." it said, speaking as if comparing fine wines.
"Damn it." Shadow Pyre muttered as he rushed back towards the garden.
As he sped down the hallway he silently cursed himself for being manipulated so easily, but what other choice did he have? No matter how deep he sank into the shadows he just couldn't standby as a woman suffered. He turned the corner leading to his destination just in time to see the young asian girl strike at a man he hadn't seen before. Rage coursed through his veins as the stranger used the sword in his hand to shield himself, the steel embedding itself in her skin as blood flowed forth.
"Ah, so it was her scent....heavenly." the voice hissed in his ear.
His katan was drawn and at the ready in an instant, his entire body aching to strike. The menacing orbs returned beneath his helm more intense than before and their gaze fixated upon the unknown assailant.
"I'm in a bad mood right now, so I would suggest that you withdraw your weapon and stand down. If you refuse I vow that my blade will taste YOUR blood." Pyre threatened, his calm voice masking the fury welling up within.
To those whose sight was keen enough to see, it appeared as if the dragon emblazoned upon his chest smiled at those words.
Ryuu narrowed his yes and turned his back walking to the dojo without a word. He would settle this later, it was impossible with the both of them in the same room.
His eyes caught Hikaru and Yuri's fight. He gripped his katana handle tightly as Yuri blocked Hikaru's attack for his sister. He charged without a second thought jumping into the air and spinning. As he spun his hakama pants twirled violently as the motion of his spin drew his katana. In mid air he thrust out his right leg, slaming the blocks of his shoe into Hikaru's face. He flipped back off and landed lightly on his feet, his katana glistening in the light.
Toru cried out as the stranger's sword pierced Yuri's flesh. "No!" she shouted without thinking. Others certainly heard the comotion. There would be no hiding this incident from the Dojo Administrators now.
Everything had happened so quickly. She was certain she'd gained the upper hand on the stranger, but then he'd spun on her and disarmed her faster than anything she'd ever seen before! Yuri had stepped between Toru and the blade in even less time.
As Toru moved to reach for Yuri, she caught a blur of crimson and grey from the corner of her eye. Her heart leapt in her throat, excitement and anticipation mixing with the adrenaline coursing through her veints - a potent mixture. She and Ryuu would fight as one again....of this she was certain. But first, she had to see to Yuri.......

Yuri continued to bleed as the sword continued to press into her palm, but she was determined. She had to protect everyone. She felt the weight of the Dojo was upon her shoulders, whether it was true or not.
Im in a bad mood right now, so I would suggest that you withdraw your weapon and stand down. If you refuse, I vow that my blade will taste your blood! Pyre threatened in an angry tone.
Hikaru grinned under his mask. Trust me, you wouldnt hit me if-
When Toru yelled No!, it was piercing, to say the least. It was almost as if someone was trying to shoot a gun by his ear. This, unfortunately, meant company within the next 5 minutes.
Hikaru cringed. Could you try to keep it down, Im trying to-
A blurred figure jumped forward to attack Hikaru with the intention of knocking him out. If he hadnt caught him in the corner of his eyes, he might have gotten away with it.
He stopped pressing against Yuri, and swung his sword back in the last moment. This forced Ryuus foot to bounce off the blade instead off the side of his head. Hikarus body remained in the same position. He didnt move an inch against the force that should have sent him flying into a wall.
He tried to start up once more. Now would be a great to stop-
All the while, Yuri saw her chance, swinging an open handed punch to Hikarus chest. He stepped back quickly, then countered, grabbing Yuris arm, squeezing it tight. He let go just as she tried to pull away, knocking her off balance.
He shot a punch into Yuris jaw, which sent her almost tumbling to the ground. Yuri quickly regained balance, but now her jaw looked bruised and slightly akward. She leaped forward into her next attack, swinging her arm horizontally. Hikaru ducked and rapidly preformed a flawless sweep kick.
Yuri back flipped to a defensive stance. She kept her eye on Hikaru, making sure he didnt move. He remained ready in his own defensive Battojutsu stance. What happened next, no one knew.
Hikaru disappeared from his position, leaving a slight after image. He appeared directly behind Yuri.
Teleportation-Jutsu.
Before she could react, she was hit with the blunt side of the blade. Yuris breath was knocked out of her, leaving her gasping for air on her knees. Her back was now heavily bruised, much like the rest of her body.
Hikaru looked in both directions; Senseis and students from both the Aikido and the swordsmanship class ran to the fight, forming a circle around them. He cursed, then spoke up.
If you wish to make this fair, He chuckled maliciously before continuing. Then how about a one on one spar? A rule less death match perhaps? An evil grin crossed his masked covered face.
This all happened under 18 seconds

Ryuu raised an eye his hand mande blade glistening flawlessly in the sunlight. He said nothing just gave a slight nod. He had no idea what had happened, all he knew was the masked man was after his sister. This was reason enough to kill him in Ryuu's mind.
Heh, scared him off, Jase snickered at Ryuu as he finally stood down. When his back was turned, Jase stuck out his tongue and made a silly mocking face as he walked away. He would have continued his teasing if Kanata hadnt nearly fell over. He had barely kept himself balanced by leaning harder on his long halberd.
Kanata looked quite distressed. He seemed to have broken into a slight sweat and his breathing seemed slightly heavier. He looked over his shoulder at Jase with nothing more than a piercing glance before his attention turned to Ryuu who had now turned to attack someone else. By the gods, does he pick a fight with everything with two legs? he sighed and stretched out his arm to pull his long weapon from the ground.
Although that last glance may have had a bit of anger to it, Jase couldnt help but be drawn in by the fellow. His pale purple hair, most of it drawn high into a ponytail, the several strands of hair that fell over his forehead, the strong arms under the loose sleeves of his keikogi, the faint sheen of his perfect skin that was ever so slightly dampened by perspiration. His intrigue was interrupted when he took notice of the new threat that everyone but himself had already acknowledged.

Jase began to scowl once more at the intruder as if to say How dare you believe youre stronger than me but knowing it was true. He was just about to mock the assassin who knew he was stuck in a corner but Kanata spoke up.
I will spar you man to man, Kanata called out confidently. but perhaps you can tell us why you are here. What do you want, really? In his mind, Kanata was uneasy with the thought of a full out death match. It just wasnt his style.
"If you wish to make this fair, then how about a one on one spar? A rule less death match perhaps?"
Shadow Pyre's blood boiled at the opportunity to battle this arrogant fool without restraint, but then there would be no challenge. The only thing preventing him from ending this contest now was his desire to see him pay for what he'd done to the girl.
"I will spar you man to man, but perhaps you can tell us why you are here. What do you want, really?"
He looked over at the young man who had accepted the challenge. The first thing he noticed about him was the over-sized naginata he was leaning on, second was his seemingly unnatural purple hair. Whoever he was he definitely had guts.
"I take it from your hesitation that you are not going to involve yourself in this conflict then?" the voice asked, seemingly disappointed.
"Not unless I have to. I won't allow your wanton bloodlust to cloud my judgment." he replied, desperately trying to resist the overwhelming urge to satiate its' thirst.
His decision made he covered the distance between himself and the injured girl in the blink of an eye. Purposely positioning himself between the unknown assailant and the two young women he took a defensive stance, determined to intercept any further attempts to do them harm.
"Miss, you are Ryuu's sister are you not? This situation has escalated to the point that I am unable to aide your friend directly, I need you to attend to her for now. Can you do that?" Pyre whispered to her, never taking his eyes off the enemy.
Toru placed her arm around Yuri's shoulders and guided her further behind Pyre as his whispered words reached her ears.
"Yes." was her short answer. She knew he'd understand. She had no wish to distract him, or Ryuu, by drawing Yuri's assailant's attention to herself again. She'd managed to keep him from slitting Yuri's throat, but he'd still inflicted significant damage upon the girl.
Part of Toru wanted to stay with Ryuu in case a battle ensued...her entire body thrummed with adrenaline at the prospect of fighting by his side again...in true battle, not just some sparring match. But Yuri needed medical attention fast.
Guiding the girl down the hall, past several Sensei and students, Toru led Yuri toward the infirmary. Her voice was a whisper near Yuri's ear when she spoke.
"If only this were a false trip like mine was...." her tone was apologetic as her arm rested protectively around her shoulders. "We'll get you fixed up, then you'll rest in mine and Ryuu's apartment where you will be safe.
When Ryuu and Toru had arrived at the Dojo, they'd been staying where they could find shelter, often a different place each night. Being brought back from the grave after 200 years, with no known relatives in the vicinity, made leading a "normal" life difficult. So far they'd managed to keep their secret. But Toru's increasingly frequent episodes were making it a difficult task. And they were still learning things about this new world they'd been brought back to.
Fortunately, the dojo had been looking for help maintaining the equipment and gardens after the students had cleared out at the end of each day. Ryuu and Toru agreed to do so and in exchange they received a small apartment to the rear of the gardens. Trusting no one but eachother, they'd taken great pains to fortify it. The only way anyone was getting in, was if they were invited. Unwelcomed intruders would find themselves needing the infirmary's services in a bad way otherwise......
Yuri walked with Toru, staying as close to her as she could as she continued guided her down the hall. Something made Yuri want to turn around. By the time they were down the hall, she walked (almost) normally with Torus help. She was no longer breathing heavily, and the world seemed to finally have stopped spinning before her eyes.

Thankyou. She said weakly to Toru, hoping that she at least sounded grateful.
Yuri stopped walking, bit her lip and waited a few seconds before whispering to Toru, Stay. She brought herself up to standing position, almost as if she wasnt hurt. I cant

Hikaru stood tall. Very well, He started. I might accept. But there is no need to tell you why Im here. Is it not obvious everyone here is meant to die this day? He grinned and let the last words hang in the air.
Hikaru let out a short laugh. Besides, He said calmly. You havent heard the exact requirements in order to join.
He sheathed his sword; then walked in a small circle, his palm resting on the hilt. He waited a few seconds, walking around, just to make sure everyones eyesight was on him. I have already chosen a few possible contestants.
First is a girl named
Turu? He stopped; then looked at Ryuu. The young Asian girl whispered her name. Besides, I admire the way she snuck behind me. The way she was ready to kill me.
And the second is Ryuu. Im guessing you are Turus brother, since you look so much like her. He looked over to Pyre, then back to Ryuu. I over heard your name from Dragon Man, Noting Pyres large red dragon on his chest.
The man with that large halberd intrigues me. He continued, nodding over to Kanata. He is definitely much stronger then most of you here. He said with a sinister chuckle.
Hikaru swiftly pulled out his sword, holding it three inches from Pyres face. I dont know if I would call you an opponent; due to your lack in training. He said. No matter how fast you are, you have probably the least control over your sword.
Hikaru put his sword back in his sheath. I have thought about you though, you might have hidden potential under that dragon of yours. He turned then walked back to the center of the circle; then looked back at Pyre. On the other hand, defeating easy opponents are my specialty.
Hikaru looked up to the ceiling. Then there is the Asian girl. He became serious, making his voice echo an even deeper evil. Yuri, Im not finished with you.

((OOC: I just forgot what I was going to say out of character.
OOC EDIT: Oh , now I remember!
Teleportation-Jutsu.
Teleportation-jutsu is not really the art of teleportation. Actually, it is the act of moving quickly without having your feet touch the ground. Earlier trainers start out with a 'Hover-Jutsu' type thing. They are able to move while hovering. Eventually, some people are able to master the art, making them move at incredible speeds. This requires a very high skill in Genjutsu.
The creators of the 'hover-jutsu' evetually renamed it to 'teleportation-jutsu.' This name was ment to fool others to think that ninjas have mastered the way of teleportation. While in paragon city, some ninja have managed to teleport by other unusual practices, this version is a lot less stressful on the body. Plus it adds the ability to attack with your feet without stopping or losing speed.
Unfortuanately, 'Teleportation-jutsu' is known for not being easy to control, but those who master it are, by then, powerful enough to control the world.
Also, the Malta have a slight flaw in their 'recon' on the worlds heroes. Since Ryuu and Toru have pretty much been 'summoned' from the dead, the Malta might not have a file on them. Thus, resulting that Ryuu could be more powerful then Hikaru. Could... ))
((OOC: *cough* Your move. *cough*
OOC EDIT: I misspelled her name - on purpose - and you went along? @.o *Snapshot!* ))
Ryuu kept his constant placid expression, "Turu and I fight as one, yin and yang." His hand lay uneasy on his sword, he liked his new home, and was begining to have second thoughts about what he was going to do.
((Just as a reminder, Kanata is a teenager, around 15-16 years old. His build is rather average to thin, more on the muscular side, and kind of tall.))
So you know who you will be fighting, my name is Kanata of the Datotsuichi clan, masters of naginatajutsu. With the aid of my familys ancestral glaive, I will not be an easy opponent. Kanata leaned forward and rested his weapon, with a bit of effort, long-ways before him.
but if you do not mind, I need a moment to prepare myself mentally.
As he said that, he kneeled down and rested on his knees with his hands in his lap and closed his eyes. Are you watching, brother? I will not disgrace our familys name. This is my chance to show the depths of my skill
.I will surpass you. After about 30 seconds, his breathing became steady and he kowtowed before his weapon. Kanata straightened his posture and rested a hand on his weapon. Alright, Im ready now.
You are incorrect in your evaluation of the situation, Kanata said in a stern yet polite manner. I was not behind your sister when she took the blows, I was infront of her. The rocks that were directed at you originated from my direction but your sister got in the path of the attack before it could get far.
Jase nodded to himself. That was exactly what he had planned in the first place. He made sure to calculate the force and angle of the rocks so they would bounce off of a tree first and ricochet at the sparring pair, giving the illusion that the origin of the projectiles was elsewhere among the crowd of spectators. It was only coincidence that the one leaning against the tree he used decided to take the blame.
Besides, I am the one with the pebbles of the same general size. Kanata strengthened his argument by rolling the little rock he had caught between his fingers then flicking it toward Ryuu but passing two shoulder lengths away from his head and embedding itself in the bark of the tree just behind Jase.
As Ryuu stared into Jases eyes, Jase just smirked slightly. Jase leered at the boy before a strange Youd better watch what you glare at vibe came from all directions, at least to Ryuu. It may have been slightly hypnotizing but it would definitely seem strange to most. Jases light brown eyes remained unblinking as he returned Ryuus gaze, like a warning.
