Hello heroes!

Like many of you I really enjoy my characters concepts. Here is my newest hero.

The Godbreaker!

Just felt like sharing. Thanks for looking!

Oh now that's a cool concept!

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

It's a cool concept, good story and wonderful use of costume pieces!
If only the kilt moved like linen...
Good job Powerforge

I love using the battle kilt as "not a kilt" male sashs/skirts :-D

Cool concept.

Ill be honest with you, the concept itself deserves a rating somewhere above A+.. I dunno what.. A$ or A! perhaps. Awesome stuff.

The costume however...just doesnt do it for me.

Oh My God. A year ago I made (and still play, he's my main) a character just like him except he's a Titan (Mr. Titan) with MA/Regen and on Infinity too. I hope this doesn't become the new cat girls or robots, cause the rarity gives it more finesse.

Hey thanks for all the great replies guys!

As for the costume,I am curious how everyone else feels. I am very happy with it myself. I really wanted to tie his look to the Egyptian theme yet go for something a bit different. Creating a mystical Egyptian statue was a bit tough though. I admit that I usually favor simplicity in design. It sometimes isn't really necesarry to add every option. However, maybe it's too simple?

Certainly the color scheme is a bit unusual but again, I really dig it. A living sculpture of sand that can rebuild itself after damage (regen). I initially did this in gold and turqouis to reflect the theme along with the Sinister pants and shin guards as they sort of represented scarabs but dropped that in favor of this, again just for simplicity.
What do the rest of ya think? If anyone would like to take a stab at recreating the design please do (I'm looking at you Crown ) I'd love to see what you all might create.
Again thanks for all the great comments!

I'm with TheCrown...Awesome concept, but costume doesn't seem right to me.

The costume IS a bit low-impact compared to the bio, but nonetheless YAY for kiltage!

As the grandson of an amatuer Egyptologist I offer one chunk of advice: As a god of the dead Anubis was more a "Alright, welcome to Limbo... sign here, here, and here, we'll get your soul weighed, and get your afterlife set up for you" than a pseudo-Satanic dark god of EEEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIILLLLL. That's actually the department of the god Set, who by the rise of Islam in Egypt had been retconned into the role. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set_%28mythology%29

Or you could go with Apophis, the old kingdom snake-demon of darkness and personal nemesis of Richard Dean Anderson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apophis

That's the truth. I read the Egyptian Book of the Dead awhile back, and I remember thinking that it read very much like a travel guide.

Ugh. Stargate. Great concept, the movie was so wrong on so many levels.

Great concept, however. I think the main problem with the costume is the kilt-purse thing. It just doesn't fit, but you probably can't remove it. That's what is killing the look. I don't know if it's this laptop, but to my eye at the moment (tell me I'm wrong) but the "blue" looks a little too purplish. Maybe a bluer blue, to more match the color of lapis.

Funny, this concept is similar to Kheprera's, only she is a goddess. She was found by an archaeologist and "revived." I left off the mummy wrappings because, once revived, she was no longer "dead."

Yeah that damn purse. I couldn't agree more there, unfortunately there's really nothing I can do about it except ditch the kilt altogether. If I do that I might as well rebuild the whole costume as it's pretty much the focal point for the look.

I'll give it some more thought tonight but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I still really like it at the moment hehe. Your also correct about the purple. it most definately is not blue. That was the previous incarnation of this toon which I already abandoned. You laptop is rendering the color correctly.

Thanks for your comments though.

To ditch the "purse" go with the battle form of the kilt. Wraps a bunch of belts around the waist instead and the kilt itself is a little ragged.

That might work. I don't have access to the kilt pieces, yet.

I've been begging for more Egyptian parts. As it is, with Kheps costume I did the best I could and I'm constantly tweaking it. I explain the differences as her trying to fit into more modern times.

For more information and screenshots of Khep, check out the scraps in my Deviant Page. A rough of her bio is there, too.

Here is a look at my own artistic rendition of The Godbreaker (using the battle kilt).

Powerforge, you said you like your current costume and that is all that matters ..long as you like looking at it, its good imo.

But here is what I threw together . Im not sure I like this one a whole helluvalot either to be honest. I think the COH character generator just doesnt give the options that id like to have to make a really cool looking egyptian statue turned god killing golem.

A very Fresh From the Grave look, there, Crown. Not bad. The kilt is better. Not perfect, though.

The CoH creator is so good in so many ways, yet fails me on many critical parts. The only character I've been somewhat happy with is Blood Masque. Even Omen's costume is lacking in places. I guess that's what you get, though, when you bring in characters from old tabletop games that already have a set image in your mind.

Well thanks to everyone for all your advice. I did in fact try out the battle kilt design myself when I first created this character, however the purse isn't actually gone. If you look it is just moved around to the side. In the end I stayed with the normal kilt, just to get a more regal feel.
It is just tough to create what I wanted with these parts. Like you said Kheprera, the pieces I need just aren't in the game at the moment.
My costumes do tend to evolve as I climb upwards in level so I am sure this one will change and hopefully improve as time goes on.
Thanks again for all your input folks.
