Attacks on Developers and Moderators
[ QUOTE ]
I have 2 machines. It happens once in a while on one, never on the other.
Dismissing people's real problems like this makes them angrier.
Read Lighthouse's post before dismissing reality based on your perception.
Be glad you haven't had it but don't dismiss those who do get it.

I am not dismissing those who do get it, what I am asking for is a little more understanding and the realization that it may not be just the game. There are bugs in every game which is why there are patches for every game, no game is perfect. However I think that the extremely vocal minority of people who have these frequent problems should take a moment and look at what they are running it on rather than immedietly running to the forum and screaming about how crappy the game is and how they are going to leave. It gets real tiresome real quick.
I dont dismiss reality based on my perception, I don't doubt that there are a few disconnects and crashes that are due to the game and how it performs on certain peoples computers, however I dont think that a lot of the crashes that we hear about here are really just the game being buggy because the devs put out a crap product. All I am saying is that its not as bad as the vocal minority states it is, it doesn't crash "all of the time" and it is far from "unplayable" there are some issues yet but it is well within the Developers and the Studios best interests to keep the game running smoothly for as many people as they can and for the most part they are doing a darn fine job of it.
again I am not saying that some crashes that happen are not the fault of the game alone, I am sure that a few are, just not as many as people claim.

It's not vocal minority. People always like to say whatever is being complained about on the forum are the "minority" of players. In game, on teams, in the broadcasts, it becomes a majority. When 6-8 people on a team crash in a mission, in the zones(all of them), you refill with the team with new players because the ones that crashed are just sick of it and log and then the same thing happens to the new teammates, it's not a minority. Then you hear everyone in broadcasts complaining about the crashing, people in your SG, computer tech people who know how to keep their machine running clean and have awesome machines, all saying they never crashed like this before I8 was released it's THE GAME. Having a few people not crash on the forums is the minority this time around. We're talking tons of people complaining IN game and on the forums. Just because you're not crashing doesn't mean it's not happening to a lot of people. All you need to do is check the forums and more importantly ask around while playing the game and you'll see how big a problem it is. Cryptic is just in denial to the extent of the problem. Lighthouse adding a little blurb I think it was yesterday about "an increase" it crashing was a first step, but it's a little late. Increase in crashing is truthful statement, but it should have been more realistic like "alot of people have been crashing since I8 was released and it a problem on our side more so then the player's computer." I've been playing this game for almost 3 years and the quality of the updates has decreased since the begining. I remember how everyone was like "what a smooth launch". Since CoV it's been a mess. We also used to compliment the devs for interaction with players and how problems were quickly fixed. Gone are those days... It's sad because I love CoX. If I didn't I wouldn't still be here. However, as someone who's been here from the start, I have to say the quality of the game and support behind it have degraded.

Thanks for the support!
To be honest, criticism comes with the job. I'm not fond of personal attacks, but I understand that people are passionate. Heck, I worked in a comic book store (yep, I was comic book guy), so I understand the vagaries of working with the customer. One thing is tantamount, however - you guys are the PAYING subscribers. I might not like the feedback, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Admittedly, honey is usually more effective than vinegar, but I always try to look beyond that...

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

Take the game as it comes and instead of complaining about what you don't have enjoy what you do.

You know what I do when I'm REALLY pissed off about the crappy performance, the bugs, the constant whining of crashes (that I never see,) the inability to exit buildings, the random 50% drops in performance exiting missions when teamed, the incompatibilities with ATI's drivers, the base kick bug, the COMPLETE lack of communication from Cryptic regarding all of the above, etc, etc, etc?
I log in, turn on hide and ghide, turn off showfps and netgraph, and solo my scrappers and brutes.
The cause of my stress is also my escape from said stress.
Now THAT'S ironic.

If it wasn't a fun and engaging game, none of us would be playing it.
Yeah, it needs work. It's not up to WoW's quality standards.
But it's a fun game.
Which is probably why we're all so passionate about it. States included.
