Interesting backstory. I like the hint that both Dr. October and Psilocin are manifestations of his nightmares.

Spelling note: "There psyche burnt to ash," should be, "Their psyches burnt to ash."

Thanks brutha. Spelling corrected.

OK, this is a very slight tweak. I felt that the detail of the cathedral in the background was pretty much lost in the spiral blur. I lowered the transparency of that layer to allow a little more of the cathedral to show though as well as lowering the transparency of the skeleton. This also had the effect of allowing a bit more color into the image as well.

I think I like this version better but would welcome any critiques. Which one do you folks like better?

Psilocin 1.2

The difference may be too marginal to notice much anyway. Lemme know and thanks for looking.

Hard to say. The cathedral does stand out in the second one, but you lose the ghost. You should do a layer mask and fade out the area around the cathedral only. That way you keep both.

I can do both definitely. I was thinking that the skeleton was competing for attention with the main figure so I dropped it's opacity a bit. Here it is brought back up.

Psilocin 1.3

Hello Heroes!

It's been awhile! I decided to roll up a Claws/SR scrapper and he totally got the best of me. Concept is important to me and I really fell for the idea of a speedster. Actually it's a concept I have wanted to explore from the very start of my trips to Paragon City but CoH really doesn't let you just roll up "the Flash". I settled for Claws/SR because of Claws fast recharge and SR obvious potential to fit a speedster mold.

I had no idea my end result was gonna be so powerful! I love this guy! Having so much fun testing and challenging him that I just haven't gotten to any Photoshop shenanegins. Until today.

This started as a bit of a ripoff of an older paper I did featuring my blaster of the same name. It completely took on a mind of it's own though and I have had a great time with it. I'll most likely tweak it some more but it feels done enough to post!

Excelerate!

Thanks for looking!

Neat, like the effects there.

Oh Jeez, Here I go messin'.

Small change to increase the contrast on the foreground and background.

Thanks for looking.

I love the costume more than anything. But I suc, so.. yeah.

Weeellll,

Here's another take.

Not sure I like the lightning. It definitely adds more "pop" to the picture but it may be overshadowing the character too much. Then again maybe that's ok?

Hello heroes!

Not too much to add to this one really. This might be my favorite screenshot ever. I really don't think it would benefit much from any additional effects.

But I bet I don't leave this one alone either.

Excelerate vs. Infernal!

Thanks for looking.

Haha Thanks Mr. A!

I have tweaked it a tiny bit.The unaltered screen capture has abit too much lemony yellow for my taste. I sorta see Infernal's fire blast a tad more orange. I changed the outer edges of his fire to a slightly darker shade. Not really worth the update to the thread I guess but anyway...

Tweak

Also a slight de-saturation of the colors so they are not so overwhelming.

Awesome work, Powerforge! I'd like to see more!

Here's another one that's not too flashy. I tend to do the radial blur too much I know but there really isn't a lot I want to add to this one either. I got lucky with another strong screenshot and it just doesn't need much.

Excelerate vs. Marauder

Thanks for looking.

The interesting thing about that shot is it looks like he is lifting Marauder's leg up so he can punch him in the junk.

LMAO! I saw that, but didn't know how to say it, so I was going to say this instead..."Oh myyyy, I didn't know they could lift their legs up that high!"

It's been awhile since I tried anything complex really.

I've been enjoying the game itself for awhile now and haven't really tried to put together a wallpaper that was much more than a lucky screenshot with some text. I decided to change that with this next one. The results have pleased me but, like always, I am thinking there will be some modifications to this.

I really like Scirocco. I just think he's the coolest looking villain ever. Great costume and theme too. The only place I can remember ever seeing him in game though is in the Oroborus TF. I really wanted to try to set this wallpaper in Egypt or at least a desert. This means trying to do a composite from different pictures. That's not easy for me. I always feel like the end result looks odd. Like things don't exactly flow or match up, particularly if I am trying to blend shots from a game with pictures from real life. This wallpaper suffers from that to a small extent but not too badly. I thought I would share all the shots I used in the finsished product.

Finished Product!

Lots of tweaks in the finished product. It really ends up being Scirocco's wallpaper but that's ok. He's my favorite anyway.

Thanks for looking!

Very well pieced together wallpaper. The elements you chose just meshed so perfectly with each other.

Awesome work as always, Powerforge!

Glad you guys like it!

All done in a tired old copy of Photshop 7 VexXxa. I do have a Wacom tablet that I bought of a guy who works at Staples in town for a hundred bucks. Best money I ever spent. Great tool.

Humph!

I said this turned out to be Scirocco's wallpaper didn't I?

Well, I wondered what would happen if I just let him have the whole thing.

Scirocco

I have to say I like it better. The composition just feels tidier to me. I'm miffed that my hero's wallpaper doesn't even have a hero IN it now though.
