Well. Inverting Scirocco's form on the solo paper got me wondering what it would look like to include Ex again but invert both of them.

One last try!

This is an improvement to me also. Perhaps not better than Scirocco alone but it DOES have a hero in it again.

This one is coming along well! It's much more complex than what I have been doing for awhile and it's definitely not done yet. I am posting to get some feedback from you folks. There is still clean up to do so don't sweat stuff like a small blip of aura over here that shouldn't be or specks here and there. I'll get to that stuff when I think the composition is good.

So that's what I am really after here. Is the design too busy? Are the colors competing with each other? Don't hesitate to speak your mind please. Thanks for the help.

Work in progress.

Very Cool!!!

Very slight update to this that has a large effect. I felt that because of all the multiple images inside Ex's form he seemed overwhelming. The many different colors all competing for the viewer's attention. I copied the AV layer and desaturated it. The I colored the gray layer to match the border and aura. Finally I took the opacity of the new layer down to allow the original colored layer to peek through. The overall effect is to mute the colors of the AVs hopefully reducing some of the visual confusion I was afraid was happening. I'll still be working on this one for a bit though.

Thanks for looking.

Update.

WOW! That is awesome! Great reflection type in the body. Excelerate has an ridiculously sic costume anyway, plus the reflection/ window thing happening is rockin! Great job.

Thanks Snow!

This feels pretty close to done now. I felt the building behind Ex's head was a distraction so I removed that but that's about it I think.

Excelerate!

Thanks for looking.

This is my 50 DM/SD

Saint October!

I'll most likely tweak this on some more but I'm pretty pleased with it so far.

Thanks for looking!

My very first villain to 50!

This came together pretty fast. Pretty basic design but the pose is so strong I didn't feel the need to complicate the design much. It feels pretty finished but if I know me there's probably three of four revisions coming.

Technogeist!

Thanks for looking.

Well I was right. You guys know how fond I am of the lightning effect.

I'd like your input on this. Part of me really likes the effect, part of me thinks it might actually detract from the overall look. There's a lot to look at already on that side of the paper. The costume itself is complex and so is the background.

Is it too much? Which do you prefer?

Version 1
Version 2

Thanks for looking.

Okay, here is my take. I opened up both of the images and placed one exactly in front of the other and then clicked back and forth between the two numerous times. I found that on Version 1, my eyes looked at the entire body and then the rest of the picture. On Version 2, I found that my eyes only looked at the green electricity on the arm and wasn't drawn to look any where else. So I would say for me, that I prefer Version 1.

However, I may change my mind if there was a Version 3 where there was a touch of electricity emitting around the fist.

I agree! In fact tried for about an hour to find a meeting point between no electricity and too much. The problem I ran into was that just a little electricity looks kinda...well, wimpy. I know exactly what you mean. The electricity distracts a bit, and yet, I like it too. It fits the theme well, but is it really adding anything?

Here's the weak electricity version.

I like this version better than 1 & 2. I find that my eyes start at the name, then are drawn to the arm, then to the face and body. So it seems to be more balanced to me. Nicely done!

[b]Do what I did, stack the images on top of one another and click to each one. The only thing that moves when you do that is the electricity. And then consider this, what do you want the viewer to be most drawn to? The electricity, the character or the overall fluidity of the picture? All three are really good, so I guess it depends on what you want the viewer to see.
