Only "whale guy" I could see would be the mostly-black reptilian-looking guy on the otherside of the rock-dude from BAS.

That's what I thought too. I don't know about it but Bas's arms are the same colour as the background so they are done.
The lizard guy's stomach might be the same as well.
Not saying they are not done. IN fact, with BAS apparently having robotic arms, the grey background would match his arms - after everything else I wouldn't expect alex to go shade them or anything like that.
Ditto for the other guy - very common to have a lighter shade of a color on the underside, and grey would be it for black.

BAS's arm does indeed appear to be colored in, but in just a slightly different grey. Reptilectric's chest would be a dark grey (almost a black) from looking at the screenshot I have of him. It does appear that it hasn't been colored in, grey or otherwise.
Hehe, yah, my arms are s'posed to be about the same color as the background

Yeah BAS's arms and Reptilectric's chest are definitely a different shade of gray. Trust me I eye-droppered it in Photoshop.
BTW It looks great Alex. When's round 2?

Round 2 will get started soon, I figure I'll just wait til that's actually done before posting any more updates, it was fun watching the pic fill up, but now it's just gonna be less dramatic changes probably not as interesting watching me put in shadows and highlights!
I do have to confess, it's sitting as my desktop now and i'm digging it again, after working on it for so long it was starting to get to me.
