How to do Mayhem Missions with throwing up

Mayhem Missions are just bundles of fun with so much to do and not enough time to do it all. Here's a handy guide on how to self-elect yourself the king of mayhem missions on your selected server!

1a) Send out blind invites to everyone who appears on the /search list. The more invites you send out and the faster you send them the higher chance of filling your team out right away! Seriously though, blind invites aren't always a good thing. Make sure you send a tell to every corruptor and make sure they're a pure healer before you invite them. More heals is good heals!

1b) Don't invite Dominators, but do send them a tell saying how your AT and power set choice is better. Even if your power set choice isn't better, I'm sure you'll have no trouble making something up.

1c) Spam-invite anyone with a name in ALL CAPS, AlTeRnAtInG cApS, or that has "Dark" "Evil" "Shadow" "Kitten" "Thug" in it. Do not take no for an answer. You absolutely MUST have these players in your team.

2) Set the mission and hop inside immediately. No one likes a rusty team, so you should make them hop into action! Nothing makes you hop like a little bunny than seeing a little timer in your compass window!

3) There's only fifteen minutes to accomplish your goal! Run straight to the bank! But first wait for the team to assemble. Start with a fart joke. Then go to the bank.

4) Go for the cars, not the guys with the guns. They explode! Awesome! The cars, I mean. The silly men with the guns don't explode. Let your boring teammates take care of the guys with the boring guns.

5) Make sure you fly really high when going to the bank. The higher off the ground you are the safer you are! The skies are a friendly place filled with many colorful characters to meet and interact with! (Colorful meaning mostly red and white)

6a) Fight all ambushes in the lobby of the bank. You were there first! Arachnos has a strict no-cutsies policy. This is the most boring part of the mission so now take this chance to go on a potty break. You may also silently excuse yourself from the keyboard to get a really complicated beverage that takes a few measly minutes to make. If you come back and your team is still fighting the same group then they must be very bored. It's common courtsey to explain everything you did while you were AFK unannounced in excruciating detail before you help them with the fight. Especially if you went on a potty break.

6b) Bank lobbies are sexy. Hit on every female villain in your group.

7) If anyone dies, don't give them your only awaken. You might need it yourself in a few seconds. Use it immediately after your death instead of waiting for the group your team is currently fighting to be finished.

8) If you're a stalker make sure to run to the vault room and poke the vault with your katana. This somehow induces explosive effects within the vault and opens the way for more loot. Loot is good. I like loot. And you should too.

9) If you died and ran out of the police station don't go back to the bank. You've already died there once and you might die again. Instead you should go around trying to solo the side missions to help your group get more things done faster.

10) If you die again promptly blame the healer in the group (or any other support characters, maybe even blame a stalker or two) and leave in a huff.

11) /ignore everyone who was in the group. They're noobs. Don't play with noobs. You have loot. Because you're not a noob. Those noobs don't have loot. Because you took it. The loot that is, not the noobs. You don't take noobs. You take loot.

(Size 0.002 font small print)*You might actually have better luck doing the exact opposite of everything in this guide.

That's some funny stuff there. I've been in many a "mayham" as the tactically challenged call them.

I was on one of my lesser alts a while ago (Grav/Fire Dominator) helping some of my friends from my hero main's SG, including the group's leader, get started with CoV in their first mayhem missions. Even with a group where the members knew each other like us, in many of them we were quickly overwhelmed. It was somewhat understandable since most of their expecience was on the heroes' side, but still, it wasn't pretty. The next time I signed on, I got a global tell from the SG leader apologizing for losing his temper after the fiasco.

So, I feel your pain. Even with experienced players (though not experienced villains), these can be tough. Taking a PuG to a mayhem mission is like herding cats.

Amusing! Brought a grin to my face. Especially since I was accidentally guilty of #5 once

Doom.

Yep.

This is really doom.

On the serious side, it is actually a really good idea to do the opposite of 1b.

Inviting Dominators to a mayhem gives the team some good advantages. Depending on their powersets, they get some fast charging AoEs, great for taking out swaths of objects quickly. Also, the PPD and Longbow aren't known for being particularly mezz resistant. Holds, Confuses, or sleeps thrown down on the most annoying mob types makes the trip much smoother (hate those glop grenades like I do? they gain a whole new perspective when they're effecting the other guys ).

Yup, I know the guide was totally tongue in cheek, but I've found my Dominator to be my most effective Mayhem guy, and I wanted to say so.

question, one of my alts tried to solo his first mayhem mish (the one where you get the flight pack). I failed, (hero killed me repeatedly and took too long to get out of jail.

Is there a way I can still get the flight pack?

do Paper missions until you get another mayhem mission, if you outleveled that particular mission, find a lower level player that does have it. They may want you to malfactor though so you don't kill the XP.

Sure. You can run newspaper missions until your broker offers you the Atlas Park mayhem again, and then succeed this time. You just need to successfully complete it once to get the pack.

Hilarious!

First time I joined a team that ended up doing a Mayhem mission (levels 12-13 or so) was a disaster. The team leader insisted on just fighting our way to the bank. So off we went. When an ambush came, the leader would run behind us all and blow up fire hydrants, phone booths and cardboard boxes. He soon decided the best way would be just to run as fast as we could to the bank because we were running low on time. About 2 seconds after that brilliant decision was made, he died.

Leader: "I'm going to run to the hospital"
Me: "Noo! I have an awaken and you don't go to the hos.."
Leader: "Where am I? There is a door in front of me and I can't get out"
Me: *sigh* "You're in jail, must break out now"
Leader: "I think we're going to run out of time"

*Mission Failed*

That is the only time I've ever teamed up while doing a Mayhem Mission and I'm pretty sure that will be the only time.

so it's everytime you do it, you get a chance to get the item (flight for AP, SJ for KR, ect...) but you only get it the first time you COMPLETE the mish. If you fail 5 times, and get it on the 6th, you still get it.

Somewhere, hidden on the streets of each mayhem mission, is a badge. But I think there is just one. Don't think the other villains will let you have it, you have to take it, and quick. If you are a superspeeder or stalker or flyer or teleporter or superjumper, or any kind of real villain, run around and dont stop till the badge message comes up. BLAM! You got a SHINY!

Correct. Theres no real need to do the Mayhem over and over once you get the special item unless you want the badge for completing x arsons, x cars and trucks destroyed, x vault doors destroyed, etc, etc.

Two other reasons:
1. Getting contacts (Although you can fail the mission and get said contacts)
2. You actually enjoy Mayhems.

Deamus the Fallen - 50 DM/EA Brute - Lib
Dragos Bahtiam - 50 Fire/Ice Blaster - Lib

Not quite.

Side missions can give temp powers as well. I know I have a rock, a shotgun, cryo bracers and something else from them on one character.

LOL...that guide is HILARIOUS. I'm guilty of a good bit of them. I send blind invites. I fly really high. I hit on villain females in the lobby. I take potty breaks during mayhem missions. I go for cars before bad guys (IT ROCKS!). Yup,thats me. Everyone on every server has probably gotten a blind invite from me. Even though I only play on liberty. I got a abdge for blind inviting people and am now able to spread my awesome blind invitie..ing...ness...across all the servers.
