Rosalind just grunted and waved her hand dismissively at Combat Toy. "I say you crank down the testosterone on that one, Toy. But I do like the color-coding system. I used to not be able to tell the li'l uns apart aside from when Mini opened his mouth."

Essex shyly nodded to Solid and Hal. "Well... I can't swim, but I brought a swimsuit. And I can keep myself afloat at least."

At Experiment's proclimation, she gasped for a moment, and then ran off, giggling. "Nooooooo!!" she squeaked. "Let me at least go change!"

"CANNON BALL!" Mini Bot shouted as it ran at the water and jumped in, curling itself up to hit the water with maximum splashage.

The drone immidiately sank to the bottom but seemed to be having the time of its life regardless.

Combat Toy merely shrugged and stomped off to stand by the wall near the patio door, just watching everyone come and go.

"Boys will be boys," Toy said to Rosie. "Especially if they're big boys with plasma cannons."

Hal watched Essex run off, smiling to himself vaguely. . .

"Ah yes, I am quite fond of this one," said Moonscribe, and began playing "Gladiolus Rag", hardly seeming to tire.

This time, Experiment stepped behind Hallucinogen, but instead of threatening to throw him into the water, smacked the back of his head.

"Earth to Hal, do you read? This is Stop-Staring station, preparing for landing..."

"Yeh, this is gonna be a fun evening." Acid commeted, whisking the steaks from the grill with his bare hands. The flames didn't even seem to bother him.

"Feedin' time!" he yelled across the patio, making off with two steaks of his own, the first one already disappearing in his jaws...

". . .Ah! I'm sorry!" Hal exclaimed, jumping and rubbing the back of his head. He turned to Experiment.

"I'm sorry, heh. . . She's just so. . . well, you know."

"I can't eat for a half hour after swimming," Kefetasura pouted as he climbed out of the pool, "I might get a cramp."

He stopped walking with a puzzled look on his handsome purple face.

"Or is that the other way around?"

"I see I have returned just in time," Helper said as he returned from the kitchen, plate of steaming cheesey-taters in foil held in one hand, a five gallon jug of fruit punch in the other. Under his arm was a sleeve of disposable plastic cups.

Experiment rolled his eyes, smirking slightly at the mention of food. "I guess I could eat... The last thing I ate, I believe, was covered in all types of minerals and body parts. Granted, I didn't MEAN to eat it, but still..."

Experiment walked quickly to the grill and grabbed two food-stuffs in his armoured hands, nibbling on the edges the second he had it.

((Pyrria, that is definitely the best way of going about it, thank you. Uhm.. how does tomorrow (the 29th) at 6PM eastern sound? That'll give us plenty of time to RP the first night out, then our own friday night to get day 2 up and running.))

"Yay, I'm just in time!" Kaloaten, with that fresh out of the shower look, nearly bumped into Combat Toy on his way back out onto the patio. He was only in his belt and navy blue shorts- his hood had been pulled off and was dangling behind him, his hair the same silky white as Tomanton's- though much shorter. Notcing how effortly Acid had lifted the steaks off the barbecue, he attempted the same, giving a yelp as his hands were inevitably met by the sizzling meat. Still, he managed to land it on a plate- then for the second one, he used the tongs. With two plates in hand he stepped back to the benches, setting a plate infront of Tomanton. "Maybe I'll hop in the pool after.."

Tomanton bowed his head in thanks. "Mm. If you want to avoid cramping up, you will wait 45 minutes..." But it was no use- Kaloa was already digging in. It was like talking to a brick wall.

Lyden continued to watch Moonscribe play, nodding lightly.

"Moonscribe's co-ordinination level: Excellent." He looked to the piano, seeing if it was being played off sheets or merely memory.. either way, it was the mechanical perfection Lyden himself strived for- which was why he was drawn to it.

((Eh, sorry, but I'm gonna have to speak out against that idea. I really don't like the idea of an RP moving at a fixed pace - as Final Fight shows, 10 minutes of thread time can take several days and a whole day can take only a few hours. I'd like to see this thread kept dynamic, not the least reason being that I will be very busy tomorrow if I want to make the Pocket D party. ))

Acid laughed and almost choked as Kaloaten learned that not everyone could pull burning hot steaks off a grill -and he himself learne that luahging while swallowing wasn;t such a good idea either.

Wolfing down his first slab of meat, he started munching on a potato, clearly enjoying the meal.

Yeah, he'd never enjoyed the concept of eat only what you kill - there were just a few things about Morsko he'd never understood.

"To each his own, I suppose." he mumbled, biting into his second steak...

((Blarg! XD Well, let's see what everyone else has to say..))

((Well, I actually have school. I would rather have some fun social time with allies because, honestly, when do we ever do that anymore?))

((Well, I think a reasonable way to go about things would be to just sorta gauge people's interest in the 'current' event, and apply the GM-Poke(tm) to keep things moving at a good pace.

For example -- People have shown interest in a round of room-mate swapping and an impromptu barbeque, so let it run. I imagine the next thing to happen will be some settling in for the first night. Pretty much all you'd expect from a situation where there's a whole bunch of folks in a 'getting to know you' type situation. After that, though, it's perfectly ok to say... skip forward to the next day. Just after lunch when the host announces that days activity, perhaps.

I guess I mean to say that keeping the pace is a fluid thing. You just have to rely on your instincts and your sense of dramatic timing.))

((I really can't form an opinion about this, it seems. . . I'm too conflicted. But regardless, don't end the day Friday night, because the Pocket D party will probably make everyone miss the cutoff.))

((EDIT: And now I agree with Mechagogue. ))

((Yay! *hugs* Don't worry, Tom. We'll all help you. X3))

Rosalind shook her head. Everyone was taking two steaks. [censored], she didn't know where they put them! Taking one slab of meat - one of the less well-done ones, at that - and a potato, she nodded to Helper.

"Hey, not bad, Coppertop!" she grinned, tearing ferally into the steak with an enthusiasm befitting her canine persuasion.

Essex trotted through the hallways shyly. She'd just moved her things into Solid's room, and was now in her swimsuit - a cute little teal-blue one piece with some shorts and a pair of Seawing's goggles. She also had a pair of what looked like waterwings.

Pausing, she heard...piano music? The little android trotted down to Moonscribe's room, listening appreciatively.

"Wow, sir..." she murmured. "You're really goo- aah!"

She stumbled, a little startled at the presence of Lyden, who she didn't notice standing just inside the door until she was through it. "Oh, sir Lyden! Ah....Acid and Helper made a very nice dinner, if the two of you would like to join us out on the patio."

"Ah, hello, Priestess," Moonscribe said, looking up calmly at Essex as though she were a portrait he found mildly interesting. "Yes, I dabble a little in the performance arts. I am not really very good, but I enjoy it. But I would be happy to accompany you to dinner, Priestess."

He got up from his piano, and it vanished instantly, returning the room to normal, although it still looked vaguely stretched. "Shall we then?" he said calmly, stepping out into the hall.

((And since I never managed to fit it in. . . he's playing from memory.))

WHACK! CRACK! THUD! WHAM!
Blows echoed throughout Morgant's room as his fists continued to drive into the leather of the punching bag, echoing down the hallway as well as his strikes became more and more forceful. Sweat poured down his brow as he finally stopped, rubbing his now-sore knuckles with a grimace, staring at all the dents and duct-taped cuts in the leather that he had made across time.
Heh. All this time, and all this training...and he still failed as a hero. Pathetic.
He threw his trenchcoat off and put on a tanktop, still sweating, changing into a pair of swimming boxers and stomping out with a towel over his shoulder. Screw training for now. He was hot and sweaty--a pool swim would clear his thoughts. Letting his hair down from it's ponytail, he swung the door open and marched over to the pool, unceremoniously jumping in without any further thoughts or words.

Creating a large splash, in fact, which had given Kairaishi some water all over his body. He squealed and spun around, trying to shield his five gigantic slabs of steak and six potatoes with his body, succeeding...but the steaks and potatoes quickly tumbled out.
With a flash of movement, the kabuki were already there, each of the steaks skewered on their blade and potatoes in their hand, clinging to it easily. Kairaishi simply nonchalantly picked them back up, put them on his plate, and began eating ever-so-happily again.

"...Ah." Lyden, stepping out into the hall, shook his head stiffly.

"Offer declined. Unit Lyden ordered against moderate/heavy contestant socialization levels. Prolonged deviation from GSR nutrition plan also not permitted- and Unit Lyden consumed a full bag of potato chips in the morning to aleviate pre-contest anxiety, so.."

Just then, his stomach growled rather loudly. He looked down at it as if hunger was some sort of crime, unsure of what to do.

"Oh..." Essex nodded a little in understanding. "Well, then...I know."

Quietly sneaking back to the kitchen, she grabbed a cheesy potato from the stack that had just come out of the oven. "Gah, ow, ow..." she quietly whined as the hot foil caused her thermal sensors to spike. Wrapping it up in enough paper towels to pad the heat, she trotted back to Lyden.

"Your stomach is calling out for food. If you don't eat properly, then you won't have enough energy to properly referee the contest, right? Starch for energy, protein for strength, and ...uh....whatever's in onions has to be good for you too. You don't have to come eat with us, but at least have something."

With that, and a little smile, she trotted out to the pool.

"....Banzai!!" she squealed, taking a little jump into the shallow end and flailing about happily.

Lyden held the wrapped potato, blinking in a bit of confusion, then he gave a light nod. After watching Essex go he went back to his room, setting the potato down beside his laptop as he began typing again.

Kaloaten was still viciously tearing apart his steak- Tomanton, after finishing only one, gently slid his remaining steak onto Kaloa's plate and stood, going over to the plate of potatoes to get some more for himself. He loaded up his plate and walked back, perhaps a bit too close to the pool..

Hal appeared out of nowhere in the water several feet away from her. He looked exactly the same as always.

"I really have to stop doing that," he said. "But I just feel safer when I'm invisible. . . yeah, I changed while you were gone, but you can't really tell, honestly. . ."

Kefetasura was sitting at a wooden picnic table near the grill, fork and knife tearing into the steak. Another hand had appeared on his right side and was absently juggling three potatoes telekinetically.

The purple skinned man, towel wrapped round his shoulders, paused as he was about to take the first bite of his steak.

"Hey... is this cow?"

"Looks like beef to me," Solid said as he glanced at the demon.

Mentally frowning, Solid shifted his feet and went back to making sure Mini Bot didn't do anything to the pool. Which was pretty easy, as the drone was just stomping around on the pool bottom and waving its arms.
