Bad Company (Limited Open RP)
Experiment had spent this whole argument trying to figure out how the hell HE had been paired with a villain.
"I mean, come on! I am, like, the most anti-villain person here! I don't even like Lassie over there, and according to her, she isn't even a villain!" he moaned, sighing in distress.
"Aw, cheer up, shiny! We're gonna have lotsa fun!" came Pyro's reply, a slight flame curling up his arm.
Experiment raised his eyebrow, sighing again.
"Hey, if anyone wants a living lamp, you can take my 'roomie' with you."
Tomanton blinked. "Con..cile? Heh.. seems I've much to learn. Perhaps I can be more direct with people during my stay here than spend my time with.. my.. nose.. buried.. in my reference books?" That line had been spat out particularly awkwardly- Tomanton wasn't quite used to the common slang and sayings of the English language. "But... as for your 'stroll'.. perhaps we can garner the layout of this place together?"
The house itself was fairly straightforward. It was linear in shape- aside from the T-shaped main room, it was divided into an east wing (which was utilities like the garage and a gym room on the lower floor, library and games room on the upper) and the west (which was pretty much exclusively sleeping accomodations. The northwest wing was a bit of an exaggeration, as it only extended maybe ten meters north out over the backyard patio- the rooms muscled out there to accomodate a stairwell/art gallery in the southwest corner of the mansion. There were three bathrooms- one on the lower floor of the east wing, and one on each of the west wing floors amongst the rooms- the western ones quite spacious, the eastern one looking sort of.. tucked in.
Out back, the yard seemed like it could be easily converted into a partying area- beneath the northwest bedrooms, patio lanterns for the roofed-off outdoor eating area swayed lightly in the breeze- beside the swimming pool, steam rose up from the edges of the lid of the hot tub. Off to the side of all this was a co-ed bathhouse and shower, and of course the pathway down to the ocean.
Out of place, though, was a large black metal crate with the letters 'GSR' engraved on the side- just sitting there, on the lawn. A container for whatever was to be used in the challenges, perhaps?
((I'll get a visual aid for this place when I get home from class. >_>)
"Ah, Pharaoh," Moonscribe said as he passed Hal, who was having trouble finding anything. "You know. You could simply go on the tour, rather then sulk for the remainder of the day. . ."
"Shut up," Hal muttered. "Why aren't you going on the tour then?"
"It would bore me," Moonscribe returned. "You see, I already. . ."
"You already KNOW EVERYTHING. I KNOW," Hal grumbled. "Look, anything to get away from you. Fine."
". . .Where are they, anyway?"
"Oh, I'll just teleport you to their location," said Moonscribe calmly, beginning to type.
". . .Wait, no!" Hal exclaimed. "I can walk, dangit, I. . ."
* * * * * *
Green smoke burst into view directly in front of Acid, as Hallucinogen appeared in front of him, and promptly fell to the ground, as Moonscribe had placed him slightly off the ground.
". . .I HATE that guy," Hal muttered to himself. "Hello, Acid. . . I guess I'm coming on the tour. Heh."
((I'anno, Hal, at the rate Rosie's making friends....XD;; ))
"Oh! I'm sorry..." Essex said, letting go of Acid's leg sheepishly. When Hallucinogen quickly poofed into existance in front of them, she caught her breath, startled.
"Gosh, are you okay?" she asked, leaning down to help him up. "I'm sorry you and Moonscribe aren't getting along. Maybe I should have roomed with you after all."
Leaning close in to his ear as she helped him up, she giggled.
"Besides." she whispered. "Think of how much he would annoy poor Miss Rosalind."
"HEY, red guy, I'm strictly neutral!" the aforementioned Miss Rosalind was busy protesting to Experiment. "Shees! Not everything's black and white, ya know. ...Well, my hair is, but you know what I mean."
She perked up when she saw the outdoors, though.
"Wow!!" she exclaimed, tail wagging. "This place is bonzo cool!"
Japancakes.

Experiment rolled his eyes at Rosalind, sighing once again. "Ugh. 'Neutrals'... Pfft. They are worse than those 'heroes' who murder, maim, kill and steal while having horns growing out of their head. Neutrals are practically villains." he muttered to himself quietly, following the others around the area.
"...Does this place have a lab?" he said out loud, seeing if perhaps they were being monitered, "I need to make stuff. I am getting bored."
"Heh, nice to see you too." Acid officially greeted Hal as he appeared - although it was a little awkward. The guy tended to appear from invisibility, not teleport. Had he learned something new?
"Okay, I'm with blue boy here." Acid announced, thumbing at Experiment, "Let's go check out the backyard..."

CelticCross watched the roommate-swapping and sighed. She was still stuck with Lily. When a tour of the grounds was proposed though, she perked up.
"C'mon, let's tag along! We gotta see where we're spending the next week, right?" Tightening her ponytail, she headed outside with the rest of the group.
"I guess..." Lily ambled along after them. "Do you guys mind if we tag along? Seeing as how you all know each other already...I hate to intrude on a happy family..."
CC seemed to have no such qualms, already dashing out the doors and across the lawn. "Look! A pool!"

Kefetasura sulked a little when he didn't get Essex. She was so little that she'd hardly take up any space in the room, leaving that much more for him. Unlike Helper, who was huge.
"Giddie-yap, butler-bot!" he instructed, and spurred Helper forward to carry him on the rest of the tour. Helper shuffled along obediently without the slightest inkling of protest.
Kefetasura mostly ignored everything being said while he began scheming -- Who to get kicked out first? So many choices, so many alliances needed to be made....
((Bloody inferno, people, I take off a few hours to do some college work...do you people EVER rest?!))
Morgant turned to scowl over at Kairaishi once again when Lyden declared that the two would be roommates.
I severely debated that Experiment was, in fact, the most anti-villain person here.
Oh, this'll be fun. He mentally moaned.
Kairaishi, in the meantime, had once again fallen asleep on his feet once the introductions were done.
((...Just...assume they generally came along for the tour))
Stell sighed and looked at Experiment with a raised eyebrow. While she wasn't overly fond of the idea of rooming with a guy, so the options seemed Experiment or CC, so....
"Yo, anyone want to trade me? I've got one mentally unbalenced pyro inhabited room."
<I 'heard' that!> Cortianna's mental voice sounded out from the hall.

"Oh, uh. . .thanks, heh," Hal said, embarassed.
"And yeah, he'd drive her nuts," he whispered back, grinning. "That idea cheered me up a lot. Thanks."
"Nice place this is," Hal said, admiring the backyard.

Back in his room, Moonscribe had somehow managed to procure a baby grand piano. Somehow it even fit, although looking at the hulking instrument in the middle of the room, it was fairly obvious that numerous laws of physics had been rewritten in order to do so. The hero sat at the keyboard, playing scales and arpeggios. It was not clear why he needed the practice, however, as he did not make a single mistake or even slow or pause. But then again, such standards had to be maintained.
Morgant quickly slung his hand into the sky, his voice hurried and his eyes narrowed behind his sunglasses. "I dost NAY want to room with a knave. Leave them to their own kind, says I, aye?"
Kairaishi, of course, was too asleep to object.
It was a bit chilly outside, with the sea breeze carrying up against the back of the house. As it was, though, the covered patio was nice and warm- energetic Kaloaten had somehow gotten up to his room, came down and outside, and figured out how to pull down the screens around it. With the layout of the house it would have been impossible, unless he jumped out of the second story balcony. Come to think of it, he WAS a bit dirty... Nonetheless, the soft glow of the lanterns made a nice backdrop against the dusk.

Lyden was in his room- he had one all to himself on the second floor. The next door room to his would have housed both Hal and Moonscribe- but now it housed Moonscribe and a big-[censored] piano, and he would have heard the playing first. Lyden stopped the report he was filing, confused at precisely how that noise could be- it was too high a quality for speakers. Leaving his room and the door slightly ajar, he went to knock on the door to Moonscribe's room.
"..."
((Oh, and, considering this is about a lull in the action, I'll clearly mark when the next day begins. I'll give a warning, so since it'll obviously cut things off and it's easier just to post how your character spent the night after the fact, just try to avoid being in the midst of OMG DRAMA at the time. Warned! ))
Helper, having reached his destination, gently removed Kefetasura and placed him on the ground. There was little fuss other than a slight pout.
"I imagine that for the moment we are, from this point, left to our own devices," the robot observed. "I have noted that it is often helpful, when strangers meet for the first time, to play an ice-breaking game. Would anyone care to participate?"
"I hate those games," Hal sighed.
* * * * * *
"Ah yes, Pharaoh," Moonscribe said from inside, his playing not stopping or slowing in the slightest as he played Scott Joplin's "Wall Street Rag", perfectly, as might be expected. "Do come in if you like."
"Cool! I love breaking ice!" yelled Pyro loudly at Helper's suggestion, "It cracks and breaks and melts... It feels awesome!"
"He means as in to 'break the ice', or stop the situation being awkward and get to know the people." sighed the armoured hero.
"...Oh... Well, I don't like socializing..."
"Too bad for you. Now shut up."
"I'd prefer to fire this here up." Acid grinned, placing both hands on the oversized grill as he overlooked it with a promising glimmer in his eyes.
"Hey Rosie, do me a favor and raid the fridge if ya would. There's gotta be some steaks in there..."

The kitchen's massive, state of the art refridgerator was PACKED. While it looked like it may have been neatly arranged at one point, there was simply too much food to cram inside- stacks were abandoned in favor of a jumbled mass of just about every food possible- reaching into the mass and pulling something out would likely have no effect on the overall structure of the thing. The only open areas of the fridge had been relegated to two things- a half-dozen or so black lunchboxes that were all engraved with the GSR emblem with sticky notes on them that said 'For Lyden', and.. cartons of eggs. Steaks, along with other meaty delicacies, had a whole shelf to themselves.
---------------
"...Ah.. um.. affirmative. Unit Lyden merely confirming musical source." It was confusing for the super-soldier how a piano ever got into the room- but whatever, it wasn't harming anyone. He stepped inside the room and pulled the door to, standing stiffly at attention while he watched Moonscribe play.
((aww... no one want to switch rooms with Stell? ;_; ))

"An ice breaker?" Lily made a face. "If we have to. I'm sure she won't mind." Glancing over at Stellarmare, Lily shrugged. "You can swap with me. Or whatisname." She indicated Morgant with a jerk of her thumb.
Meanwhile, CC was happily exploring the outside. She'd tested the temperature of the pool and the hot tub, poked around in the bushes, and peered down the path to the beach. Her ears perked up when Acid mentioned grilling.
"Hey, can I help? I help my dad all the time. You don't want to ask Lily though. She gets all pouty when you ask her to a controlled burn." CC grinned at her roommate. "'Course, she's probably trying to swap me with someone else...you don't wanna switch rooms, do you?" she asked Acid, looking up at him.

((Morgant offered. Speaking of Morgant...))
Morgant shook his head at the group. As much as he enjoyed breaking the ice, he had things to unpack and things to do, as well as a room to familiarize himself with.
He trailed back over to his room, unlocking the room and swinging open the door, peering at the inside. With his duffel bag slung over his shoulder, he casually strolled inside and slung it down upon the ground, opening it up and starting to unpack, pulling out what few belongings and things were inside.
Just a few minutes later, his punching back was out, inflated, stuffed, and hung onto the ceiling, getting whacked away by Morgant's electrically-charged fists.
Kairaishi, however, had long since awoken and was raiding the kitchen in a typical comic style. The door was swung wide open and Kairaishi's head stuck in, legs dangling in mid-air as he greedily helped himself to whatever food he could get his hands on.
Once again, the Kabuki stood impassively behind him, arms crossed, their only other movement being their heads looking left and right, all around the room, scanning so that they could alert their master in case somebody popped in.
"Well..." Essex mused thoughtfully, "Maybe let's just tell each other a little bit more about ourselves? We'll all be living here together for a little while after all."
Taking the initiative, she looked around. There were only a handful of people she didn't know.
"Um...Well, for one thing, my hobbies include music and baking. I'm not very good at cooking because I can't taste savory things - only sweet things, and you have to taste test things in cooking a lot to make sure they come out okay. Baking I can manage better because it's all mathematical measures and precise times."
"I gotta admit..." Rosalind said, returning with an armful of steaks and a wildly wagging tail, "She does make [censored] awesome cookies."
Turning to Acid and handing off the steaks, Rosie's eyes sparkled.
"You should have seen the FRIDGE! It was all full of stuff and like by full I mean FULL and there was a WHOLE SHELF of meat and I am gonna gain so much weight if I don't have someone to scrap with this whole time!!"
Glancing around at the others, she shrugged. "We talking hobbies? Uh...I like to draw. And someday I wanna be a rock star. I'm trying to start a band, 'cause my voice is pretty good, but I guess I just haven't had the time to practice."
Heading back to the refrigerator for some steak sauce, she paused at the sight of Kairaishi half in the fridge.
"...<_< Yo, Oni dude, you wanna pass me the A-1?"
Japancakes.

((It was also full of a puppeteer. :P))
"Yes, an excellent choice," Moonscribe said, bowing to her. "It seems Hallucinogen is unhappy with his room anyway, and would prefer to sleep on the couch. So then, I will be off to our. . . wait, my room. Yes, I suppose it is just my room now. Good day, Priestess."
He walked off to his room, looking very pleased with himself.
((He is gonna get voted off FAST, isn't he? ))
