The water wings kept Essex up as she paddled around in the water looking incredibly pleased with herself as she splashed and kicked about.
Rosalind was watching her dimly. She didn't like admitting it, but the were-human did feel a sense of responsibility for Essex.
After all. She smelled a hell of a lot like ghost.
Her eyes drifted over to Solid. What the hell kinda connection did he have with her, anyway?
Rosalind kicked back. This was gonna be a long couple of weeks.

"So, uh. . ." Hal stammered, trying to find something to say. "Um, come to think of it, I haven't asked you how you've been doing lately. . ."
". . .How have you been doing lately?" he finished feebly.
Experiment chuckled at Essex's liveliness, sitting at the edge of the shallow end. He curled his knees up to his head and layed it down lazily on his legs, overlooking the pool in an 'I feel lazy' kind of way.
Seeing that most everyone seemed to be fin ishing up their food, Helper shuffled around the yard and began tidying things up. He collected all the used cups and potato wrappers in a trash bag, then gathered the dishes and flatware. The robot took the trash and dishes back towards the house, headed to the kitchen to wash them.

The purple demon smiled a little reluctantly as he watched Essex enjoy herself in the pool. Nobody seemed to be watching him at the moment, so it would be ok. She was just such a sweet, innocent kid. Absolutely perfect for corruption....
Kefetasura shrugged off the idea. He was, after all, on vacation.
Casually grabbing a steak and lifting to toward her, Corti looked over the pool with a slight smirk. Even as she cut a peice of stake off, she sent a strong telekinetic force down on Hal, dunking him in the water.

"Thanks, man." Acid waved to Helper, very appreciative of the mechanoid taking care of the inevitable mess.
Wolfing down his last steak, he threw his clothes into an agglomerated pile on a bench, then dove into the pool in Mini-bot fashion, loudly yelling, "BANZAI...!"

Before Acid had even finished thanking Helper, 2.0 had turned away and covered his eyes in a split second.
"Someone look at Lizardman. If he is wearing swim-wear, I will open my eyes. If he is in his 'swim-suit', I will not open my eyes until he leaves the area."
(('Swimsuit' and wearing swim-wear are completely different, in Acid's case...))
"I'm doing good, Hal!" Essex laughed, continuing to splash about in the water happily. "Gosh, if AJ and Seawing were here, you wouldn't be able to get them out of the pool..."
Just then, Acid cannonballed in, causing the little android to squeal in surprise as the resulting wave lifted her up by the waterwings and promptly deposited her back in the water with a splash.
Rosie started laughing, at that. "Ey, I wanna go skinny-dipping too!!" With that, she stood...and transformed into her border collie form, galloping into the pool with a happy bark, and beginning to snuffle and sneeze as she tried to continue barking with her mouth full of water.

At the mention of 'skinny dipping', 2.0 was rather sure covering his eyes was a good idea.
"...Messenger has it lucky. All he needs to do is put a flashlight near his eyes, and he doesn't need to be tortured by Acid's fetish about swimming naked..."
"Bah, leave him alone. He is having fun, much like the pathetic little girl in the shallow end." came the slightly annoyingly raspy voice of Pyro-Technis from behind Experiment.
"She has said before she can't swim. Leave HER alone."
"You are just being nice so you don't get splashed with water..."
"Mhm. I am not the one with Pyro in my name."
At that comment, the fire-loving villain took a rather large step back from the pool, mainly out of reach of any splashes that would come his way.
((Haha, so you can FIGHT a draconian swordsman wearing nothing but a belt, but...you know what, I'm just going to drop it with you.

CC shook her head vigorously. "Oh no, Lily's the one that burns stuff. But I've helped Dad barbeque lots!" She nodded mostly politely as Helper joined them, and then trundled off again.

Lily just shrugged. "Same to you. At least I won't have to worry about being kept up all night by football talk." She barely suppressed a shudder. Wandering over to the entrance to the beach, she stared almost longingly at the beautiful white sands.
"LIIIIIILLLLLLYYYYYY!!!!!"
CC nearly bowled Lily over.
"Indoor voices, CC. Indoor voices."
"But....we're outside...." CC looked confused.
Lily facepalmed. "Nevermind. Look, I'm switching rooms with that floaty girl...Stella-something."
CC shrugged. "That's fine. I'm gonna room with that big lizard guy...Acid Naught or something?" She pointed over towards the grill. "He says he and his...um...friend? Mostly stay outdoors and stuff. So I've got a single room, mostly!" CC bounced on her toes. "Isn't that great?"
"Yeah...sure...hmm...maybe I should stay with Stella. Two fire newts in one room is probably a bad idea..." Lily brushed a lock of hair out of her eyes. "Eh, I can always switch back."
CC wasn't paying attention. She'd just glanced over towards the pool and everyone jumping in. Her eyes positively lit up. "Yeah...whatever...sure..." She grinned. "I'm going swimming!" She headed for the pool at a sprint, shedding her hat, shoulder pads, gloves, boots, socks, belt, shirt and shorts as she went.
"Whee!" CC dived into the deep end and swam down to touch the bottom of the pool. Waving to Mini-Bot, she kicked back up the surface and wiped water out of her eyes. "This is going to be fun!"

"Whoa!" Hal exclaimed as water splashed all over him. "Haha. I suppose I needed to get wet some--ACID FOR GOD'S SAKE PUT SOMETHING ON!!!"
". . . I don't really get to go swimming much," he said, treading water easily. Even the shallow end was a little deep for him. "Agh! Not you too! Well, at least you're a dog right now. . ."
". . . Ah! W, Why are there so many dang WOMEN here?!?" he exclaimed, as CC dived in on the other end.
"Keep your aesthetics to yourself, Mr. Ilusionist." Acid returned to Hallucinogen as he broke the surface, "Where I come from, this is normal, and you're not gonna get through with your human ways to me, bud."
Come to think of it, maybe I should've blown up World 12 as well. Humanity ruling the galaxy...brrr, scary thought.
With that, he went under again, wanting to see how long he could still hold his breath...

"What's wrong with women?" Kefetasura asked in a confused tone, "They made it into the top two genders!"
The short purple demon ran to the diving board, bounced at the end of it and somersaulted into the pool again.
"Are you like... shy, or something?" he asked Hal. Then he glanced slyly from side to side, leaned close to Hallucinogens ear and whispered. "Think I should teleport that Experiment guy out of his armor and into the pool?"
Essex was enjoying herself thoughrally. Acid's nudity didn't bother her in the least for the moment - no different from any other lizard she had seen, he just walked on two legs. Paddling to the edge, she decided to try her hand at the diving board, pulling herself up on it with a little difficulty and shaking the water out of her hair. She lowered her glasses and frowned in preparation.
"Ah..."
Essex inched towards the very end of the diving board, peering down into the water. She shifted her footing anxiously, shuffling forward inch after inch.
"T_T H-how deep is this end, exactly?"
Rosalind, on the other hand, was having a great time roughhousing. She had that flattened, sleek look that only a completely soaked dog could have, and her tongue lolled out of her mouth happily. Every once in a while she'd sneeze, and she loitered by the end of the pool, as though begging someone to throw something.

Experiment turned toward Essex, his right eye closed so he was only looking at the side of the pool. "Does it matter, Ess? After all, do you even need to breath? Besides, if you go in and fall down, I will just come in and get you. What is there to lose?"
"Come on, Essex!" said Hal encouragingly. "You can do it! And NO!" he muttered to Kefetasura.
The purple demon sulked for a moment. He pondered using his first vote on Hal, but with his attitude he was pretty much going to get himself canned.
He perked right up when he saw the happy dog at the edge of the pool. Kefetasura paddled himself to the edge, hopped out and sat, his feet still making lazy circles in the water. He summoned up the empty foil wrapper fom his potatoes, wadded them up into a tight little ball and waved it in Rosie's general direction.
"Puppy wanna play?" he asked in his most enthusiastic 'talkin-to-the-doggie' voice.
Morgant surfaced with a gigantic SPLASH, having swum so hard that he flung into the air, curled up into a ball spinning and then cannonballing right back down into the surface. He, like Acid, had decided to see how long he could hold his breath. Lowering down to the bottom of the deepest end of the pool, he sat down in a crossed-legged position, crossing his arms as well and sitting there, holding his breath, waiting, thinking.
Mental and physical preparation was the best.
Kairaishi grinned as he watched little Essex teeter on the edge of the diving board. "Oh, not too deep. Just twenty feet or so!" He called out at her.
CC grinned up at Essex on the driving board. "It's not that bad! Besides there are plenty of us in here to help you." She held up her arms to the little android. "Want me to catch you?"
Lily ambled over towards the pool, ignoring the trail of clothes CC had left behind. She stood a few feet back, out of the range of any more possible cannonballs, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Well, she jumps in with both feet, I'll give her that." Glancing over at Pyro-Technis, she smirked. "Not fond of water either, I take it?"

Having waved its arms wildly at anyone that could see it, Mini Bot gave up on hoping for some help out of the pool and sat down dejectedly.
"It's not that deep," Solid told Essex. "I'm sure you'll be fine."
Toy Dispenser, meanwhile, was gesturing Combat Toy over and whispering something into its ear, pointing emphatically at Pyro and Lily every now and then.

"Ahh, drat. I can't eat cow," Kefetasura said, dropping the forkful of meat onto his plate. He pushed it to the center of the table, turning his attention to the potatoes and chompin on them with restrained enjoyment.
