I am really doing an overhual with my creyindustries.com profile, and I wanna start editing the screenshots, my question is, can it be done in MSP? I would also like to hear what you guys use.

depending on which system I'm on...either my older version of photoshope/image ready or the ole venerable paint....~

Using MSP is a bit like trying to retouch a photo with a Sharpie marker.

Yeah it can be done, but it's a pain in the tuckus.

I use an older copy of Macromedia Fireworks (version 4), because I'm too freakin' cheap to drop cash on Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, and too lazy to learn GIMP.

If you don't have access to Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (probably a reality as both cost a bundle), GIMP is a free alternative and Photoshop Elements is a cheap (if feature lite) version of Photoshop.

Oooh, what is this GIMP? Sounds like hard work, but intresting enough to try out....
Oh yeah, and Crits or comments about my crey profile is well appreciated, link is in my sig.

Photoshop CS2. Which I was lucky enough to score for 'quasi free' as it was part of the tutition for a class I took last year. (ok, so it wasn't really free, but it was greatly discounted for us starving students)

Well, I would use Paint.Net if I were ever to touch one up. I mostly touch up demos, though, then dump a ton of screenshots and pick out the best. So far all I've ever needed was very minor touchups which Irfanview can do quite nicely.

P.S. Zomg! They still have Windy's profile! That's from beta for pity's sake! I guess that website isn't just a flash in the pan, eh?

PS cs2

I use PSP 8. You can find it online for about 40 bucks shipping included, and it's the best of the PSP bunch (because it was before JASC was bought by *cough choke gag* Corel). It's pretty easy to use and it works *great* for web based graphics. It's got a lot of features similar to PhotoShop but without (IMO) all the difficult to understand user interface. ((I couldn't draw a circle in photoshop. I'm positive that there was a way to do it, but if there was, I tried for 40 minutes to find it and didn't. I deleted Photoshop off my computer and went right back to PSP.))

It comes with Animation Shop, which if you need to do animated banners or other graphics is *excellent* and very easy to use. I highly recommend PSP.

I'm the negative of ya Zek. I tried PSP for an hour and came running home to photoshop and haven't looked back.

I've been using photoshop since the put it on my High school Macs for helping with Year Book layouts. (yes, I was in yearbook, no I am not gonna say how long ago it was, but I think it was PS 3 or 4. ) I've managed to have a copy of Photoshop on my PC ever since, never had 5, but from 6 up I've used every major version. Cs2 is by far the best out there imo. For what I use it for anyway. Maybe its just cause I know where everything is.

come to think of it, that was also my first foray into photo manips! (making my principal look like an alien. Ah, those were the days)

You had it easy. On my yearbook staff, we had to resort to cutting photos up with scissors and then rearranging them.

Some of the 'scenes' we came up with would be cause for a civil suit or two, these days....

LOL! Back in my day, we had to send our newspaper copy out to be typeset!

Uphill! Both ways!

GET OFF MY LAWN!!

Actually while I was working at the comic store, I made a 'shoplifters will be killed and eaten' sign out of a few creatively cut up comics.

Smurfs comics. And Lynch from Gen 13. With guns. The Atomic Weenie version. hee. I think I still have that somewhere...

What is this Scissors program? You say it works on images that have already been printed out!? WOW! That's just totally amazing! Do you need special paper?
