Completely OOC... Odd things you notice here!
Lessee. . .
Hal: No parents. He was created, however, by. . .*slams mouth shut*
Schizo: Hal and Schizo are the same person. Thus, see Hal. Schizo was also created by Hal in a sense, though.
Moonscribe: His parents were nice but somewhat distant. Moonscribe never really formed a close bond with them, and although they are out there somewhere they don't know where he is, and aren't all that worried.
Brightflame: He came from a typical family, who were, in typical fashion, shocked and nervous when they realized he was a mutant. But they also weren't too bright. . . as they didn't ever get that he WASN'T a mutant. Of course, Brightflame didn't either.
Sunswallower: His parents were jerks. Probably why he is too.
Steel Eclipse: Parents were mystics. He killed them when he was a teenager, and took their knowledge for himself.
Super Roby/Pyewacket: Their parents were cats. Who cares.
Reginald: His parents were neglectful and fought endlessly. It wasn't long before he ran away from home to become the serious, somewhat cliche bounty hunter he is today.
Asuka has no parents. Well, she was born to a mother but she's an Arachnos secret project.
El Guapo Grande has a mother, father, little cousin Paco, a goat, grandma, grandpa, grandma, grandpa, seven uncles, three aunts, and a guy named Chavez who came to visit one day and just never left.
Nicholas Sarder got his job because of his dad's connections to the secret service. His mom is dead.
Reishi never met her dad, but her mom has been a major source of support for her her entire life
O.K. I've got to put my two cents in here. As far as sticking to ATs on the rare occasions i step into an RP thread, I generally do as it makes things a little easier to work with and, as I don't care if someone else writes for my characters it gives people a general idea of what they can do. For example Marshall Stack is a Sonic/devices blaster, he has superspeed that is based on him "riding" a sound wave generated by his powers( also a good rationalization for travel power suppression in-game ). On the devices side he is limited by whatever he is wearing or can fit in his ever present duffel bag, which usually contains various types of grenades and other such things obtainable by someone with a shady military connection. I just try to use his powers creatively. Claws and Effect is a Claws/Regen scrapper,I don't stickto the powersets exclusively moveswise and his regen stems from nano bots, his limbs can be temporarily shorted out by a large enough electrical charge or an EMP, they don't stop altogether, but they behave erratically for a while.
Parents? Claws's parents died in a car accident when he was in college so they're out of the picture. Marshall's parents are extremely supportive of his decision to become a hero as it's really the only career path open to him, as it is hard to interview for a job when introducing yourself shatters the windows. That's all I've got on the subjects I skimmed through, maybe when I have more time to post I can get involved in an RP thread and everyone can get to know me and my characters better. As it stands now I pop up, post once or twice and when I get back to the thread a week or so later it either has stalled out or left me far behind.
Til later, Claws

Burning and Danica both lost their parents. Burning lost his when the Reichsman came to Paragon City, Danica lost hers in a fire (interesting seeing as who she's married to >.> ).
Pstorm and Void, duh
Blightlord really doesn't have parents, though the previous owner of the body he's in came from a fairly disfunctional family.
Ruby Blade, parents murdered.
Pokin' Prodder, lived with his mom til he was 23.
Do Nicti even have parents like humans? >.>
And yeah, by erased memories, I meant a bit of a blur. There'd be a 'Hey, I know that guy!' and you'd trust them because you were allied on Battle Planet, but you won't remember that he was trying to kill you for a while before you were allies.
Should have explained more but I was tired >.< Sorry.

Huh, something just struck me that I find extremely weird and disturbing!
Alright, so I've just read The Catcher in the Rye for my american studies honors seminar class, and I absolutely hated it. The main character, I think, is a psycopathic maniac who needs to be shot. He's the most unlikeable character IN THE WHOLE WORLD, and I really can't stand reading the stupid book. It made me so mad the whole time I was reading it, because he constantly criticized everyone and did really, really dumb things.
But now that I think about it....
Billyboy is, in a way, very similar to Holden Caufield! He's annoying, loud, and has these wild impulses that come out of nowhere. He's unlikable a lot of the time, and he gets mad at people easily and can be a huge jerk. Now that I think about it, maybe I'm angry at The Catcher in the Rye for stealing my hero....
[/ QUOTE ]
you just described everyone's reaction that ever read the book.
Everyone has a little holden caulfield in them, which is why the book can be a little hard to swallow for people, or appear as a shining paragon of good writing to others.
Me? I loved it.
Since no one is posting and I'm really bored with my broken foot. Ima gonna post....since nobody realy knows my characters I'll start with some you might know...
Osmos---from SV101 had a dad that beat him mother ran off with poolguy or something
Chris "Cool Mint" Coffey, AKA Cross Guard: has loving middle class parents...dad is a Mill Worker and Mom runs the local pta and school booster
Cross Fire: Had parents they died...he raised his twin brother and little sister...........more to come on that
What about Autumn? What was her name? Cross Wind? Or is she someone else's character?
Anyways,
Ian has both of his parents but in Live by the Sword this whole....nevermind, I'll give away the story.
Jing Lei, I'm not sure. I haven't developed her full character yet so not sure if something goes on there.
Hyun-ki, well his mother is this really.....never mind. I'll give away some story I might tell in the furute.
Jase....yeah, he was an orphan. His parents gave him up when they found out he was a mutant telepath. It's just another thing that keeps him in the profession of killing people for money/fun/because he wants to see their insides.
Oh yeah....well Autumn Rayne was technically a character made by a friend of mine.......but Cross Wind is my creation....and Cross Wind is basically like billyboy spoiled and everything with great parents...................
BUT ISN"T PYSCHO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya know she's a good girl
Well, since everyone else is talking about the families...
Experiment has a father, mother, and a sister, all living in a normal apartment in Kings Row. Every single member of his family has powers.
His father is telekinetic and telepathic, his mother can use healing powers and use her empathetic feelings to create force fields, and his sister can use different forms of dark powers. However, none of them are heroes.
His father retired with his mother after they grew old, and his sister, Jenny Ballard, is only 17, and wishes to finish college before going anywhere, either in her heroing or educational careers.
You should stick Jenny in SH101....just a suggestion....
Here is an odd tidbit---
Anyone ever been published or does anyone write besides on forums. I have never been pusblished but I love writing.
I work two jobs both of them having somewhat a hero taste to them...
Private invistagator and Loss Prevention District manager for a large retail store....
PS. Anyone a doctor and do u amke house calls??
Oh yes, I write. I write essays, reports, research papers--
Oh, you mean leisurely?
Oh yes, I write. I have written stories about plenty of random things, most of which my family has shared, and am currently in the first ten pages of what I hope to be a novel. Granted, it probably won't be great as I have hardly even finished writing the ENTRANCE yet, but still...
Several of my characters come from stories I have already written. So yes, I write off the forums. I have only one finished story worth much of anything at present, though.
Well...Reishi and Nicholas are both characters i've used a lot in my own writing. Someone actually DREW Reishi once, but I lost it.
She's such a fun character. So emotional and expressive.
Animal planet!
A bizarre aspect of Toman and Kaloa's race, the Kosunn, is that they're cathemeral- if I spelled that right, it means that day and night have zero influence on their behavior. Their home planet adopted the 24 hour clock, but not time zones- one Kosunn's 8am may be a sunrise, another's might be halfway through the night. You get the idea. This ease to fit any sleeping schedule makes the warrior race all-the-more sought-after as guards and sentries here and there around the universe.
Since coming to Earth, Tomanton's favourite sport is boxing- he sees no better way to prove one's might than a consentual fight under strict, pre-agreed limitations. Kaloaten's favourite sport is miniature golf.
I've been known to write a webcomic or two in my day...though I haven't updated in like a year. -_-;
The whole comic is actually done in huge-freaking-binder form...but it was so non-sequiteur due to me working on it every day a little on the fly, I decided to try and condense the plot well in a webcomic.
It's actually where Pariku comes from originally. XD
But yeah, I like to write. I like to draw AND write together so I can show people my mental images better, though.

Lucky! I can barely draw stick figures >_<
Nothing published here, but working on a couple personal books. First is 180+ pages, 2nd in progress 14 chaps not compiled a size yet. It's not easy sometimes, you can have an entire scene to the last detail in your head for weeks and it still takes hours to write a page of it down. So just keep at it and don't give up.

Or worse yet you spend all that time writing it down and someone else interprets it completely different
Me and a friend of mine are collaborating on a huge epic fantasy novel which will most likely never see the light of day, but it's fun and when it's finished(probably around 2015, taking into account our current rate of progress)it'll give me something to look at and say "I created this"
Other than that I've got a couple short stories laying around half finished and the first chapter or two of several novels I'll probably never finish(yup, you guessed it, ADD). I tend to focus more on music as it seems to be more immediately rewarding. No band yet but I'm working on it. Which brings up another question. Are there any other musicians in the house?(as it were)
Edit: I apologize if I derailed the thread in any way

Oh yes indeed. Essex is probably going to say something now, and I play piano and write music as well as fiction. I'm no performer, but I may want to try to write professionally someday.
Well fine then I won't. D:<
But don't worry about derailing the thread. <_< That happens enough on its own.

I have a big folder full of the beginnings of stories that I wrote during class in high school. And I've also got a couple posted on a website.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Bah! Me and my big mouth!
Parents:
Shane: Orphan, though does have an uncle. His mother died at birth and he was raised by his father and uncle. His father passed away much more recently.
Ella Parents? hmmmm hard question. If you ask her, she will say that technically she has DNA harvest from 173 different people, 37 or which are still alive, and 13 of those actually donated the DNA rather than having it stolen or approriated. Damn Crey <shakes fist>
Agent Immolate - Orphan
Shooter - Father unknown, mother deceased, sister deceased
Lotus - Parents deceased a long long long long time ago (She's old)
Rax - far too complicated
Sienna - Both parents living, but their fairies so what do they matter, figure they are more communal in the child raising
Midnight Dragonfly: Mother died, father unknown, step-father can go to hell and die sob sob...
As for some was in the past D&D characters.
Had two Elf brothers, one was very egotistical and arrogant (Sort of like Billyboy) the other was dark moody and sour (sort of like Ian) mostly due to sibling rivary. Both parents alive and well.
HaloInc
Triumph:
Heroes: Lady Halifax, Miss Kia, WhiteLotus, Agent Immolate, Lady Empathy, Sylence Fyredancer, Maiden of Fire
Villains: Innocent-Ella, Aegis-Sprite, Midnight Dragonfly
