The Meeting of the Minds [Semi-Open/Closed RP]
"Aw come on, quit teasing her," said Hal, beginning to feel bad about doing so himself.
Kevin stood, wiping a tear from his eye. "Oh... Hehe... Priceless... But I know how to find her! PDA, scan for any tablecloths in the base, and vaporize it and anything it is cove-"
*TRCH*
A spine was directly through Kevin, from his stomach to his back. He sighed, pulling it out. The hole healed up entirely, as he fell to the ground, snoring.
"Forget that command." muttered Experiment, going back to work... Which finished rather quickly. The FF Generator started hovering around the room slowly, a slightly large force-field emanating from it, covering the entire room, and everyone in it.
"I have ordered it to let your biosignatures inside, as well as mine. It should protect you from most ranged attacks, and a few types of melee."
Shinji went over to where essex was and said, "Don't trip, everyone has faults...well yours isn't a fault, but still, don't worry about it. *Takes a bite of the toast he snagged from Ginstar* Not bad." Shinji said, smiling at Essex. ((I figured out what an S6 is, when I got my retainer on thursday thats what the ortho told me it was, its a clear plastic retainer made like invisalign. Sorry, had to share that.))
((Oh so now the secret comes out!))
Workout Man nodded at Essex. "It ain't that bad being able to make toast. Mmmmm toast.... Anyway, I seriously doubt he can do anything you can't.
"Dangit! Quit TALKING about the freakin' TOAST!" yelled Hal, beginning to burst into purple flame. "Haven't you done enough already?"
Experiment's right arm held a spine again. "Hal, don't make me put you to sleep like I did to the water-fountain back there."
Hal reverted to green smoke. "Dangit. . . now I'm not even allowed to defend her, I see, it's always the same, he wants to do everything, just wants her for himself, I actually try to think about what she wants, I. . ." His muttering faded away.
A small device lowered itself from the roof, closing in on Hal slowly. As it inched closer and closer, 2.0 frowned at it. "PDA, return your shocky-stick to its panel before Hal blows it up."
It, just as slowly, took itself back up into the roof.
2.0 cleared his throat, walking past the group. He exited the armory, motioning for the others to follow. "Fine, Hal. Since you seem to think you can control yourself... You go ahead and defend Essex. You damage ANYTHING in this place, and I swear, I will gladly put you to sleep, and let PDA poke you with the shock-stick 'till we get back from Island Von-Doom or whatever."
Another door that looked just like a wall slid open, revealing what seemed to be a hanger. It had a jet, a boat, a car, a bike, and a few other, uncommon forms of transportation. However, at the end sat an empty path out of the base through a tunnel.
"From what I can tell," 2.0 called to the group, "This SHOULD be facing the island already. All we need is for us to get to the island through the field, and there should be no problems. Villains ain't that hard to beat."
2.0 smirked back at the group. "No offense."

The drone flew out, right at the boat, a whirring sound emitting before a robotic voice. "Explain your reason for entering restricted zone Alpha-Zero. If you do not comply with this command in the next five seconds, this drone will be forced to send a call in for reinforcements."
Allen smiled devilishly as the drone approached, demanding an explanation. His troopers kept their weapons primed, but concealed for now as they stopped the 'raft'.
"Yeah, I got a reason." he retorted, "Does your boss have insurance or is he gonna pay in cash...?"

"That is not a satisfactory answer. Unknown query detected. Please resta-"
The drone convulses in mid-air, before hovering in place once again. However, this time, a human voice spoke. "What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are you attempting something that resembles humor?" came a dark reply, "Because I honestly find it hard to even find a trace of it."
"Dangit!" Hal muttered. "I wasn't going to attack anyone, why does everyone always assume I'm so out of control? Around Essex, anyway. . ."
He thought back to the cosmic chess game, when he had attempted to get Experiment to kill him over Essex's death. . .
". . .Eh. I suppose that's why."
"...Okay, well then we have our path." Essex murmured from near the back of the crowd, the tablecloth still draped over her head and making her look like some kind of very tiny pink nun.
Ginstar shrugged. "I can go real fast, so I can carry Essex an' a couple other hombres if it's what you want. I wonder if that field can stop things goin' the speed of sound."
Essex glared at her older brother. "Don't...that's RECKLESS. Especially with me and potentially others hanging onto you."
"Then don't let go." he replied with a toothy grin.

Toy Dispenser looked curiously at Ginstar and cocked his head.
"What's this you're going on about?" he asked, moments before Mini Bot snuck up behind Essex.
"YOINK!" the little drone shouted as it grabbed Essex's tablecloth and ran off laughing.
"Damn it, Mini Bot..." Toy sighed, putting his face in his palm.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
"Nope." Shinji snagged the tablecloth from Minibot then flew to Essex and gave it back to her. Leaning up against the wall, still munching on the toast, Shinji said, "I told you guys about 5 minutes ago that I could teleport you guys through. Oh yeah, I can make clones of myself too..."
". . . You know what?" said Hal, still sounding a little irritable. "Let's just WALK THROUGH. Because somehow, with all of us teleporting, superspeeding, jumping, and otherwise cavorting through the barrier in different ways, I don't think there will be very much teamwork."
"I agree with Hal..." Essex murmured softly with a grateful look at Shinji, gathering the tablecloth around herself once again. "We should all go together for safety's sake. After all, someone with access to that sort of technology probably will be able to use some heavy firepower."
Ginstar looked over at Toy with a slight nod. "The Doc gave me the heavy duty version of the sonic defenses that Ess has. Included in that package is the ability to run faster than the speed of sound. It's why I'm lighter 'n most of the other replicants my size - a lot of my material is hollow an' streamlined."
Glancing down to Essex, the purple and green bot shook his head. "An' I'm against going as a group. It may be safer in numbers, but we're pretty much guaranteeing detection."

Hal sighed yet again. "Ginstar," he said, "why on EARTH do you think it is at all realistic for us to avoid detection? That sort of thing just doesn't happen. When we're all in different parts of this base or whatever it is, getting killed by various defenses because we're split up, I think we will wish we had stuck together, rather than used the strategy most commonly employed by Scooby-Doo."
"Wo-ah..." Ginstar said with a laugh. "Calm down, calm down, kiddo. I'm just sayin' that if we got a chance we might as well take it, but it ain' up to me. I wasn't really plannin' on coming in the firs' place, but I can't let Essex get in more trouble without one of the sibs around."
He looked around at Expiriment, Hal, Reikoff, Prikker, Toy, Shinji, and the others before shrugging. "Though it looks like we'll be pretty well covered."
Kneeling, he began undoing the clasps on the large box that he'd been sitting on that he'd brought for Expiriment.
"Lissen, Ex..." he called to the hero. "If we're gonna do this, we may wanna do it soon. Let's get going to this island. If we're all going to go together, though, can I at least suggest sending a couple of us ahead as scouts?"

"I agree with him." Static stood up. If Workout Man or I can get through the shield, we'd be more than wliling to scout for you." He turned to Essex. "As for keeping her safe, you will be covered. All of us would die to save her, and by die I mean die." He managed to wink under the visor he wore. "Besides I'm sure you'd heal us just in time kiddo." he whispered to Essex. He turned to Hall. If there was someone he could trust, Hallucinogen was on his list. Hall would die for a teammate....
Then there was Experiment. A good fighter, Static didn't know what to think about the armor hero. Workout Man assured him that Experiment was a good man, but something was off...
Static had no idea what to think of everyone else.
"If we're gonna go lets do it now. If this baddie is as tough as you say we may have a small window of tmie to get in if you know what I mean..."
Dr. Kaos smiled. It was not in his nature to do so. A cunning and vile scientist Kaos only smiled to intimidate. His henchmen had brought him a letter from a Mr. Experiment. Kaos knew Experiment, but did not dare go to Paragon City. Too risky for him to be seen in public. That said he quickly had assembled his troops aboard his Osprey Helicopter as planned before. He would not meet Experiment for any reason, except to kill him.
"The energy signature was last seen here." Kaos pointed to the island Experiment had pointed out to the assembled troops in his base. "We will fly by, and deploy troops in by teleport. Keep you heads up men, we go in 20 minutes understood?"
Essex let out a heavy sigh, rubbing the bridge of her nose as if she had a migrane.
"For heavens' sakes." she murmured. "Would you please...please... not say that? When are you people going to realize that I'm an android. A robot. Whether or not I have sentience, a spirit, a soul, whatnot - Dr. West can rebuild me. It's not that big of a deal. As long as my chip is OK, it's not any sort of problem. I am artificial, and can be reproduced. You can not. At least not nearly as easily; and I'd rather not have it come to that. Are we at an understanding?"
Prikker could feel her grip tighten. Though she still was far from being able to hurt the troll, it was still a significantly vicelike grip.
"Now can we please focus on what's important here? Getting to this island? And not me?"
The tablecloth draped forward over her face again.
"If you haven't noticed, I don't like attention."

". . . I'm sorry, Essex," Hal said. "Yeah. . . okay, the island."
"As I said, I think we should go as a group. Many of us have abilities that can heal and protect many allies at once, and we would be wasting them if we went seperately, so. . ."
"We should really leave as soon as possible. I am ready any time . . . if anyone needs to know."
((Hey, dark...how does Kaos even know about the island? ))
Allen and his troopers snickered amongst themselves. This was going well.
So there was someone there after all, and the island wasn;t just run by an automaton. This was good to know, but bad for their situation - if that 'someone' had noticed his cloaked fly-a-ma-bob colliding with the even-more-so hidden dropship, they'd need to step into the next phase of the plan.
"That just means you're slow." Allen chuckled as he replied, "Which might be a good thing. 'Cause if we got no business here, we'd like to go home. Now, I'm assuming you're your general island-sitting-villain with the plans of Doomsday 2.0. All fine and good, we just need to know if anything unusual has popped up recently..."
((And no, that's not a relation to Experiment 2.0 - but if you-know-who doesn't know any better, he could probably take it that way. ))

((Grrr, I'm lost.))
Mini Bot grumbled and tossed Shinji a dirty look which involved looking at the hero and then rotating its face all the way around, like it was trying to tilt its head but got carried away. Mini Bot also made its eyes pulse red, but that was just for effect.
"I think I agree with Ginstar," Toy said as he looked around at the group. "Splitting into small groups to get inside the shield is probably a good idea and will use our abilities to the fullest. I think I speak for most of us when I say that we prefer working alone. All we need is a sure fire way to get a couple of people through the shield at a time rather than all of us at once."
"Lessen the load, lessen the strain, lessen the time we're standing around jawing," Large Toy said sagely with one finger held up in the air as it nodded to itself.
"And quickening the monetary reward," Toy Bot added.
Meanwhile, Small Toy had edged over to Essex. The drone peeked under her tablecloth and then stood in front of her with its back to the reploid.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Shinji tried to hold back a laugh, then whispered to Toy, "Essex is sort of a toaster...."
