The Meeting of the Minds [Semi-Open/Closed RP]
Experiment 2.0 cordially invites to join....(unreadable). "Ok....well, I usually never turn down anything free." About a half an hour later *ding dong* "Pssh, I hope im not late....like I always am..."
The receptionist quirked her brow.
She walked slowly to the door, having seen some VERY odd stuff so far...
She opened the door, looking directly at the new arrival. She then looked around the doorway.
"...H... How? When the heck did John install a doorbell onto the PCT?"
She simply started walking back to her desk, muttering to herself in a confused way.
Meanwhile, in the gaming room, a door opened widely. Out stepped Experiment 2.0, red armour and all.
He yawned sleepily, and scratched his head...
Then raised his eyebrows at the sudden appearence of people in his base. It took him a second to click.
"Oh... Right... The 9:00 thing... So, my newest creation DOES work! Good thing too... Do you know how much it costs to genetically clone a new brain, with all of this damn information going through my head?"
Upstairs, however, 'John Ballard' fell back into his chair, spinning around. "Wheeee!!!"
"Although..." muttered 2.0 downstairs, "By now, his main cortex is malfunctioning... He keeps turning into my childish self..."
Shinji just leaned up against the wall waiting for 2.0 to finish talking.
((so workout man was blown up yes?))
((Well, in essence, none of 2.0's explosives, unless he uses them in battle, are really deadly. Otherwise, he would have died plenty of times. Think of his explosives, unless it is either a story point or a weapon, as just a lot of pyrotechnics.))
((?))
((In other words, his accidently made explosives are harmless, while his weaponry kinda hurts.))
((I understood it after you posted but before he just said "workout man was blown up..." so I was kinda lost.))
((Ah, gotcha...))
OOC: I'd suggest reading the previous posts, Shinji, to learn what happened to Workout Man. Tanker + explosive chairs = Funny.
BIC: "A very...interesting place you have here, Mr. Ballard," the lead inspector said before reaching up to adjust his tie.
With that motion, the holographic disguise fell away, revealing the Toy Dispenser in all his multi-colored, caped, red electric glowing glory. Snapping one wirst, which still had an image of a black glove on it, to get rid of said black glove, Toy looked down at himself and flicked away a bit of dust.
"Damn good to get out of that thing. Black just isn't much my style."
"Nothing's your style, boss," Combat Toy said as it deactivated its own hologram. "You don't wear clothes."
"Point," Toy said and then looked over at Experiment. "So then, Red, what potentially earth-shattering problem requires you to ask for the aid of the best mercenary ever."
"I thought the number one merc was that guy with the glowing eyes and the bl-" Mini Bot began before Toy Bot stuck its hand over the other drone's mouth.
"What the boss said," Large Toy filled in, bonking the battle drone on the head for good measure.
Frustrated, Mini Bot pulled off Toy Bot's hand and waved at Essex. She wouldn't bonk him. Hopefully.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Workout Man coughed again and sat up on the bean bag next to the exploding one. "What kind of idiot puts explosives in a bean bag. Then he saw Essex. Not exactly her closest friend he did manage a smile. "Well at least we have someone here who can heal burns, laser cuts, and all the other stuff E puts in here." Then he looked at his costume. It was red with a giant star on the front. He quickly put on his mask and smiled. "At least my costume is almost as explosive resistant as me.."
Essex slid down into the base, her eyes wide.
"Woooow..." she murmured. "This is really impressive."
She didn't seem to notice much that was going on around her, until Hal greeted her.
"Hi Hal-chan!" she said with a smile, nodding to her head to him. "How have you been?"
She had to turn back to see Mini-Bot, laughing as she saw him lofting his brother's arm into the air. "Hi Mini-Bot!! It's good to see you again!"
Taking Hal's hand in her right and Mini-Bot's mace hand in her left, she began walking farther in. "Come on, everybody's moving on without us."
"Oh, by the way." Ginstar said, scooping up the box and following. "J-dog, the Doc sent along somethin' for you that he can't figure out. Wants you to have a look at it for him."
Japancakes.

"Oh, yeah!" said Hal, letting her lead him in, glad that no one could actually see how much he was blushing thanks to the smoke. "So, uh, Essex, any idea what this is about?"
Reikoff looked at Essex as she entered, but as he was currently orchestrating the takeover of a Crey Lab by radio, he could say nothing except, "There's a door to your left, okay? Blow it up."
Snikker looked over to the android and socked his brother hard in the jaw, which managed to barely get his attention. Dropping the controller, Prikker charged over and swept Essex up in a Troll-hug
"Ug!!"
Experiment scratched his head confusedly. "Dr. West could not figure something out? You are totally joking, right?"
2.0 was still a total fanboy of the doctor, seeing as how his base was more advanced than 2.0's. He could not believe that the doctor needed his help on something technical!
However, when Toy spoke about why he had called them there, he decided to get to the point.
"Just put the package over..." He gazed around, spotting his cubicle in the corner, next to one of his teleporters. "There."
He coughed to clear his throat. "Welcome, friends... Uh, and villains. Sorry about the abrupt message, but I think I am getting closer in my research."
2.0 took two steps back, right onto one of his walls. He grabbed a small handle, pulled on it twice, and bashed it thrice.
It pushed out, then seeming to expand and transform into a computer the size of most houses.
A keyboard shot out, Experiment tapping keys rapidly. A photograph of some kind of robot, different from nearly every other type of A.I. that most people had seen, usually.
He tapped two more keys, circles and lines indicating weapon and device ports.
He turned to the group. "This was sent to me by someone I don't know, who apparently knows me. He said he called it the 'Mark II Alpha Assault Drone Prototype'. So far, I have seen it call down drone reinforcements, and use several weapons and devices."
He turned back around, hitting some more keys. This time, it seemed to show a clear sky over Paragon City's Steel Canyon. In the picture stood the Paragon City Times building, and the edges of a few other skyscrapers.
"Now, this looks completely normal... Right?" He hit another button.
The computer zoomed the picture to a seemingly empty spot in the sky.
"Again, it looks completely clear... Right...?"
However, if people were a little more observant than the usual glance, they may notice an uncommon repeated pattern in the clouds. If someone had seen something like it before, they may notice the very chameleon-like Camoflauge.
"Yep." Reikoff toned in, command having passed to Marcus.
"Chameleon effect. Looks pretty well made. So I'm guessing we're taking this thing down? Or are you going to do the smart thing and use it yourself?"
Experiment shook his head. "I have not even thought of the camoed thing itself. I was more concerned about what PDA picked up."
"Yeah, and he says he is concerned about my A.I. being messed up when I save him from destroying this base about five times a day." came a female reply through the base's speakers.
"Oh... Right. People, that voice you just heard is my PDA. Or, more accurately, P.D.A. She is--"
"Patricia Diane Alexus." finished the voice, "2.0 comes up with the worst names."
Workout Man just stared at the screen. "I don't get it." Static smiled, watching the screen. He'd seen something like this before... but could he trust them? No, he thought, it's not important, at least not yet anyway.
"So then . . . What is it that your, ah, friend there picked up?" said Hal. He was a little surprised that Experiment's PDA was sentient, but he hardly had any grounds to call Experiment's behavior towards such a machine unusual, he thought, glancing at Essex.
Experiment chuckled. "Pfft, hardly a friend. She is more of an annoyance. But, she managed to pick up an entire outline of the field."
*Tap*
The screen changed, showing the same picture, but a huge, red outline of some kind of ship covered most of the skyline.
"THAT was behind the chameleon camo. Right afterward, the whole sky seemed to move. She took another picture, and it was gone."
"It appeared to have caught the energy my outliner let off when used," spoke the voice, "I don't know how. My technology is some of the most sophisticated available to the heroes of Paragon City."
"Courtesy of me." muttered 2.0, coolly.
"Hm?" the android turned to Hal with a puzzled blink before she suddenly hit the ground in a flash of green. Essex laughed as Prikker tackled her in a hug.
"Ug der, Prikka!" she squealed in clumsy Trollish. "Bubhosh to see lat!" Returning his hug as tightly as she could (Which wasn't very) she lapsed back into her normal speech. "How have you been?"
As Expiriment started the explanation, she and Ginstar listened attentively. The larger android had set the box down and was sitting on it, nodding every once in a while.
"Oh dear..." Essex murmured at the observations. "This doesn't sound good at all."
Japancakes.

"No, it doesn't. . ." said Hal. "I suppose, then, that this is why we are here? To try to find that ship, or whatever it is? Or is there more to this?"
Experiment's face turned grim, as did his voice.
"I am afraid that this is not even the problem. After all, countless organizations have ships like this, as well as threaten Paragon on a daily basis. Hell, usually, I stop things like this alone. However, I recieved a tape along with the picture."
2.0 walked past everyone, doors sliding open as he neared them. He approached his desk, picking up a tape recorder, and hitting play.
[ QUOTE ]
"This message and photograph is to inform you of my presence. Now, I will not be like the fools such as Faultline, Vandal, or even the old Fifth Coloumn leader, now a leader of the Council, Requiem, and reveal my position, my identity, or even have this message trackable. Try, and I will send the device in the photograph toward Paragon City, and destroy you.
"I know, from hacking into your records, that you have contact with the hero Experiment 2.0. Call him in, and make sure he plays this recording. If he does not, I will make sure to make your lives living hells. Make sure that, when he plays the recording, it is the first time he hears it also. No need for him to be special over everyone else except for my vengeance.
"Now, I will send my message to both 2.0 and Paragon City as a whole... Your hero knows me. Or at least, he did. He knew me, and I knew him. Now, however, he has most likely forgotten. It matters not. Let it simply be known that I created the imbecile... Or, not so much an imbecile anymore, eh Experiment?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Experiment put the tape recorder into a drawer on his desk, sighing. "That was from Hero Corps., when I was asked to write a review on this guy. I do not know the man who sent the photo, or the tape, but according to him, he 'created' me. Seeing as how I have blood, organs, and..." Experiment glanced over Essex, remembering how crazy he had become when he had heard of her destruction before, "Emotions. Meaning, he most likely gave me the spines, and according to him, intelligence."
2.0 walked back to his computer briskly, continuing to talk. "That would mean that he was part of the Crey Paragon Protector program as it was beginning its production phase. I could have sworn I killed everyone, but I guess I was wrong..."
"You were created, too. . ." Hal felt a surge of sympathy for Experiment. He knew what it must be like, to be thrust into the world without any family to call your own, or even a full understanding of who you were. . .
((Oh, and by the way. . . is this before or after Crown of Thorns? Might be important. . . and. . . spoiler, I guess. . . the world DOES go back to normal after CoT, if you were wondering. . .))
"Oh!" said Hal, in a tone that everyone knew fairly well by now. "H, Hi, Essex! Nice to see you again. . . Experiment invited you too, then?" He realized little hearts were forming from his smoke, and fanned himself furiously.
