Poser is a tough nut to crack. Iv'e tried my hand at it a few times.
Work on paper and then bring it into Photoshop maybe.

Why digital art? Why not a pen and paper? It's the drawing tools of champeens!!!
I do use Paint Shop Pro if I must, but I know a lot of people prefer Photoshop for digital art.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did drawrrrings in paper once. It was very hard and I kept passing out.
Then I got a pencil and things went better. So that's my tip for the day. Use a pencil or pen and not blood for ink.

How messy -is- drawing with blood anyway? I mean, did you use just the finger and a pin, or was there some kind of device involved (like a quill)?
>> Not that I'm planning on doing any blood work anytime soon. But I was always curious!
I have a friend who addressed all of her wedding invitations in blood. She got those tubes that doctors use with coagulant already inside and just drew blood into vials, then used a calligraphy pen.
She was....an interesting person.... >_>
Sounds kinda neat, actually. I mean, what better way to make someone feel special then writing an invitation in your own blood?
Not something I'd do, but I can appreciate it all the same... I prefer my blood in my skin, where it belongs!

Poser has problems with anatomy. If you don't know how the body works then you really shouldn't depend on poser to do that for you. People who know the body and how it works can use poser and work things around to where it is correct. Working straight from it without that knowledge enforces bad habits and later on down the road makes it harder to fined problems within a specific piece.
I use poser sort of as a manequin at times. If I have an idea in my head but not a specific pose then I will open up poser and play around. It's also nice for playing with lighting. I haven't really done much else with it.

I got that story beat. My friend has a friend who wants to kill him to make their friendship forever.
I wish I was kidding. When I heard that, I was kind of at a loss for words... and suggested he needed new friends, badly. And possibly police protection.

I just had an awesome Idea for a drawing of my toon. It will be a drawing of him emerging from his grave. About half of his body will be showing, his masked and costume slightly ripped, and in his hand a broken sword riddled with blood. Of course in the back drop there would be a cemetary and a tombstone with his man on it,.
Man, I wish was still able to draw.
It's rare that someone "lose the ability to draw". More likely, you just need to practice to get your skills back.
Practice is not the word for what I need to do. I went from drawing protrait to struggle to draw a stick figure. Not to mention I never been the type of artist that could draw something from my mind. I always needed a model or some type of reference.
That's what screenies and porn is for! (Hey, where else are you going to find nekkid models in almost every position imaginable? )
I know it's frustrating when comparing how good you *used* to be with how you are now, but after you warm up you might be surprised how fast it comes back
"No Mom, it's not porn! It's reference material! For drawing! Don't you believe me???"

Despite having many graphic design/art programs. I find I like doing most of my preliminary stuff, and basic line work on paper, then scanning for inks and rarely colors.
