Mrs Hill's first costume

Mrs Hill: Illusion Control/Force Field Controller, level 42, will have Stone Mastery Ancillary.

I have not delved deeply into her backstory, I wrote her short backstory after level 20 to match her powersets. Thusly, she uses light to attack and defend her foes.

But here's the thing. I have a second account that I'm rolling a Stone/Fire tank called Mr Hill. For reasons beyond my comprehension, Mr Hill is sticking to the outfit I created for Mr Hill 1.5 years ago (he was a AR/Dev blaster, deleted ), that being a cowboy. Cowboy hat, Vandyke beard, open jacket, rolled sleeves, dress shirt, blue levis, and brownish boots.

I can't seem to find an outfit for Mrs Hill that matches Mr Hill, while still keeping most of Mrs Hill's features, the cowboy hat and flaming eyes looks funky to me. And I can't find the right colors if I give her a plaid skirt. Oh sure, I can give her an identical outfit to Mr Hill, ... but I don't want to.

*blithering idiot* help me */blithering idiot*

I repsectfully request matching/complimentary outfits for a cowboy tank and his cowgirl companion

I made it a bit subdued while keeping the "mystical" and "fire" flairs to it. If you want any other ideas, I'll probably need that screenshot.

Here's three concepts I think fit the bill for a golden age-ish costume. In rectrospect, I'm a little wary of the first one, it looks a little too much like one of Cyclops' costumes.

Marvel_Maiden:

http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5...rvelgalgr2.png

The first one came out a bit muddled, and then I made the second one ironically with a color scheme that was basically want you didn't want, but I thought the ceramic white with subdued blue, red, and yellow looked so nice.

Capt_Solar:

I think this looks good. The colors might need some tweaking, possibly.

MCG_Warface:

Well, I'm kinda stumped. I'm just not getting any inspiration. I like all of your costumes as-is. Any hints on what direction I should head in? And could I get some clearer screenshots?

Konoko:

http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/154...yguygalao0.png

Well, I had a little trouble coordinating, so the colors are a bit blah, but I think the designs are pretty solid overall. If you want me to tweak them some more, I'll need a screenshot of both the Mr. and Mrs.

Wow, I must say even though I didn't provide you with a picture I feel like you really hit the theme of what I like to have with Fira!

Thanks for the most excellent costume!

Heh, I actually love the second one. I probably would change the shoulder pads but, wow, I like it. Thank you!

Whoa! Those look great. Now I just have to pick one... Thanks Ian!

Hi, I'm relatively new to CoV (especially this forum), and I still have a while till I get a 2nd costume, but I was wondering if you could help me out on this guy...

His name is Sir Maggot (I picked the name when I was particularly out of it), he is an ss/inv brute, so he's gotta look like he can pack a punch...I did it all as I went along so theres no storyline or anything...but even while I made it I wanted an alternate costume that is slightly less bulky.

I would like it if he could keep his knight-like appearance in general, but any soldier-ish thing (from the past, present, or future) would be fine as well, just not some generic super-hero spandex. Colors dont matter to me, I just like what looks good

Other than that I trust you to make the decisions, I saw the previous costumes you made, many of which are fantastic. Also I am not pressed for time or anything, so theres no rush

So here is his current costume: http://xs204.xs.to/xs204/06312/SirMaggotCoV.PNG

Alright, I'm looking for a new direction for my main. He's a kind-of-classic genre power-armor hero, and I AM very fond of his original and second costumes. However, his third slot has always been a "goofing off" look, and his fourth served no particular purpose (and currently still looks suspiciously like Dr. Strange from the Silver Age party at the second Anniversary...I haven't actually used it since, but it's still locked in that way). I'm not really sure how to classify his current look, but I was going for a "modernistic Silver Age" outfit (i.e. a look using Silver Age theories of design in a more modern and less bulky looking armor). I'd really like to get his third and fourth slot converted to one Golden/Atomic age look, and one "truely Modern" (but not ala Ultimates) look. He is an Energy/Energy (Force) Blaster who is partly cybernetic (arm and legs) after a lab accident caused injury. The suit itself allows flight, he's a natural leader (has the leadership toggles), and he traditionally wears no helmet (although he would wear a half-helm or non-face obscuring one). Here's his current look (colors are now black instead of red and gold instead of white, but otherwise the same):

Star Scout MK-4 rear

Star Scout MK-4 hovering front

Star Scout MK-4 doing what he loves best!

The only consideration is that I would like one of the two to have neither cape nor aura, and the other can be mix/match (both, one or the other, or neither). Any help would be appreciated, and I can certainly wait. If you need other inspiration (personality based, etc.), just ask

Maggot:

I came up with this costume:

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/3...ightguylt3.png

The trick is to scale down the chest and waist so that the armor isn't as bulky. Then, by removing the shoulder pads, the whole thing slims down nicely without sacrificing strength.

Onibi:

Take a look back on the first page or two. I actually made three different costumes based on that exact design scheme for someone else.

Nemo_Utopia:

A little tricky (your screenshots weren't the clearest), but I think these two designs are good starting points. Since I don't have the ability to do capes or auras normally, I'll just say that the second one would have the cape and probably an electricity aura. I also didn't scale down the physique on the first one, so it looks a little weird. >>

For sake of time, I just kept the default head.

I can get cleaner screenshots later tonight, but those two do look like very good starting points! I'll play with them as options and see what I come up with. I'll post screens of the results, and see if they can't be improved

Ok, I need another costume idea for my villain, Y2K Bug:
Y2K Bug (hard to tell from the pic, but he's as tiny as you can get... all scales are set to minimum, except his head I believe)

He's a Robotics/FF Mastermind with Flight and Leadership. He has Scirocco as a patron so that he'll be getting those electricity powers once he's 41 (he's 40 right now), so I MIGHT change him over to a black/red scheme just so that the red lightning doesn't look out-of-place (though I prefer the blue/green scheme he has now).

His backstory goes like this: all the angst over the year 2000 created a massive surge of psychic energy that ended up lingering across the globe well after Y2K had come and gone. It eventually collected all in one place and manifested as the Y2K Bug. Though he is technically psychic energy, his power comes from technology, as he has an inherent control over it, but he also has an inherent hatred of technology. He seeks to eliminate all technology everywhere and to plunge mankind back into the dark ages. So while he's not the ACTUAL Y2K bug, which turned out to be harmless anyway, he's the physical manifestation of the fears surrounding it, becoming everything the Y2K bug could have been.

Anyway, I DO like his costume right now, but it could use a facelift.

Hey, i have a lvl 18 toon and I was trying to come up with a cool Black and Gold look for when he turns 20. I posted a topic yesterday and someone told me to try here, so here I am. My toon is an Energy/Energy brute named Super It. I didnt make a background story(yet). The only thing im specifically looking for in the costume is black and gold. Think you could come up with something nice? ty

I would like to request a costume for a woman. I lost the request to someone else I did a long time ago, and I would like to see what you can do for it.
I'd like to see how she looks in a golden-or-silver-age-ish costume, but I'm primarily interested in seeing your interpretation of her, so go wild.

Meet Virelai. Virelai Meliah Rage. You familiar with spaghetti westerns? "A Fistful of Dollars", "Death Rides a Horse", and "Duck, You Sucker"? Virelai comes from Luca Turilli, a town (some rumors say dimension) that's built and themed entirely around spaghetti westerns, born of a naiad and a gunslinging-master sheriff.
Much like the iconic Man With No Name himself, she's quiet (preferring to either say nothing or speak with as very few words as possible), cold (very pissy, bitter, and sarcastic towards other people), and independant. At first glance, one may dismiss her as a total and complete [female dog], but she only acts as such because she knows absolutely nothing about kindness, empathy, and tact, having been raised on combat for all the years of her young life. She is actually deeply compassionate and caring (though her mannerism, simply put, does NOT show it) and would do absolutely anything to make sure people are safe.

She uses Scarred Face 3, a left eyepatch (dur), Elf Ears, and has Shy hair color lighter than her skin. Well, supposedly, but I can't get the two-tone hair or Shy hair in the duster-hat-wearing costume. Sigh.
Her powersets are Assault Rifle and Ice Manipulation, though, thanks to her spaghetti-western roots, I'm currently waiting out for Pistol Blasters. Then she'll be rerolled to a Pistols/Ice Blaster.

Here's a completely, totally random costume I made up for her, in case it helps. It shows her icy side, as well as still being gunner-esque, but nothing of her western side. Oh well.

I played up the bug aspects a little more (I love the second head design) and balanced out the colors and patterns. Hope you like!

You didn't give me a lot to go on, so I came up with this very simplistic costume.

Beethoven:

These are all essentially my train of thought as I went through the motions. I tinkered with the casual and tactical aspects. A bit of a challenge, really. (I swear, the female model proportions always make things that would normally work well on a male model look weird. )

Of course, during all of that, I completely forgot to make a golden-age-esque costume. Still want me to go for it? Though all you'd have to do is change one of the tops to tights and find an appropriate pattern.

Oooh, very nice. I like the last one. I'll have to change the boots if I use it, though, since it's otherwise too similar to her icy-gunner costume.
And nah, you don't have to do a golden-age costume now--I like that last costume too much to try anything else.

I know I didnt give much to go on. I honestly never took the time to make up a background for this toon. But I did eventually come up with something. When i get around to it i guess ill post it.

I have a character Id like a costume made by. So far I like your work. I'll post a SS of my char in a bit, but for now its good you dont know what he looks like, so you can make something alot diffrent. Anyways, his name is Cpt. Alpha, a mercs/traps MM. His current costume looks a lot like a Navy SEAL/spec ops uniform. His second costume is the same thing with no mask. (He looks very Sam Fisher-ish). His build is athletic male. I want a costume (preferably military themed) that is in no way like this. (The spec ops cosutme I mean). If you don't understand what I mean, ill post pics in a bit.

I really like those two Thanks! Hmm, I wonder how the 2nd one's head would look on the 1st one's body...

Ok...I have a hero Back Alley Scrapper (Plz don't shoot me!)...His first costume I have to keep (Its the one that looks like BAB) and I REALLY like his third...So, think you could design a couple looks for him?

Back Alley Scrapper - Broad Sword/Invulnerability/Super Jump/Fighting/Fitness/Body Mastery Scrapper

Went all around the world, training with different masters of different fighting techniques...yah...Now he is back in PC to fight crime his way and to thwart all vile schemes.

P.S. Don't do a knight costume please and at least 1 or 2 Golden Age costumes would be cool! Thanks!

Ok, here is an unusual request:

My brother and I are making 2 male duo'd characters (they will always be played together), so we'd like them to look like they belong together. One will be a Mind/Psy Dominator and the other will be an Energy/Energy Stalker. The Dom is science origin and ideally would look like an intellectual, while the stalker is tech origin and should look at least somewhat stealthy. In general, we both tend to prefer realistic costumes to "cartoonish" looking ones. Since neither character has been created yet, you are certainly free to play around with their dimensions, face shapes etc. Sorry I haven't given you too much to work with, but I'm sure you'll do fine regardless.

Thanks!

I got a Fire/Therm Corruptor that I've been struggling to make a second costume with, he's approaching his 3rd and have put off making anything, I just draw a blank. So here's the deal, he's a mutant with exceptional control over fire and heat, but he's got the delusion that his body is inhabited by an Efreet and a Hellfire demon, both vying for control of his powers. Also suffers from extreme bouts of hysteria (laughs ALOT at times) and lots to cause alot of just general havoc and mayhem. I'd like do a general 'fire' theme, but thats just a loose basis, feel free to go nuts with whatever you think would look good, and if you could maybe do 2 costumes so I dont hafta make a new one at 30 >.>

Thanks!

Hi Ian.

I must say I've been rather impressed with your designs thus far, and I was wondering if I could hire you as well.

I am in need of a costume for a new Mastermind, Ninjas/Dark Miasma, probably Magic Origin. (Leaning towards Super Speed as a travel power if that helps.) Honestly I don't have a background concept b/c I tend to base that around the costume (lame excuse, I know), but that's just how I've always done it.

Basically though...I want to look like a guy who would be in charge of a pack of Ninjas. I tried defying stereotypes once and hated it. I want to embrace stereotypes! Stereotypes ftw! All my male characters need to be major badasses, and this one should be no exception. Possibly incorporating some of the more "ninja-like" costume pieces, like the wrapped gloves and boots (pretty fond of those). And definitely some kind of mask, covering at least mouth and hair. Not saying I want to be "all decked out in black" or anything, but I'm leaning towards something not too flashy, but intricate.

Help me out here?
