Sorry, but anything involving rubber-banding the mask back to Italy where it can be lost in time for Vanessa DeVore to find it again is just lame.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you're missing the point that the whole Azuria thing is an in-joke that explains the mask turning up later. It's not supposed to be a credible explanation. It's just another case of somebody leaving the M.A.G.I. vault unlocked again.

Whether it's "lame" or not is of no consequence. What is important is the explanation's viability. Punch holes in how credible it is, but don't BS that it's just a "lame" possibility and not how you'd like the story to go.

so... are we going to see Dr. Null in game?

and personally i'm surprised that they didn't try to use the arachnos patrons in the book rather than this Alliance of tyrrany. would have make a HECK of alot more sense.

By the catapillars hooka you WILL smile!

I dunno, I kind of saw it at Lord Recluse exemplifying something that actually occurs in-game. My main hero was certainly part of his share of SGs that sucked and didn't cut it before getting fed up and making his own.

I don't know that the patrons would have risen to any appreciable rank in Arachnos twenty years ago. Was Widow even DEAD then?

Now I'm wondering when we'll find out since the next book seems like it'll be another 20 year jump into the future.

[/ QUOTE ]

Next novel? This leads to the biggest spoiler in the book. There is no mention of the next book at all. No release date given, and no excerpt in the back. Prior to the title page of The Web of Arachnos there was a listing of the series giving tentative release dates for The Freedom Phalanx and The Rikti War, this one had no mention of The Rikti War in the same place.

I'm just assuming the The Rikti War is still in the works. I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyhow. I am a little leary that it wasn't mentioned at all in this one. I'm doing some digging to see if I can find anything out though.

Well, since Lord Recluse is apparently Tartarus Incarnate, and States is Zeus Incarnate...

Heroic Incarnates = Greek Pantheon

Villainous Incarnates = Titans.

Makes sense. Even Prometheus.

[/ QUOTE ] You know that some Titains are good? Even prometheus became friends with Zeus again.

And this all depends greatly on which book is correct about an Incarnates power.

If the new book is gospel your statement is true. If Web of Arachnos is canon the explanation is incorrect...maybe.

I'd love to see him and Revenant show up in missions. Perhaps we can team up with Positron and Synapse to take them on!
