Breaking the Zig - Open RP
ooc no prob
Rugg drew his fists back as soon as they connected, and he stood ready and flaming some feet away. He laughed rather cruelly at Kairaishi's words, his amusement evident in his response.
"Sounds like less of an interest and more of a fetish. To each his own, I suppose."
Rugg's eyes darted to the side, away from the strange hat he had been eying with a smirk of slight disbelief. The sound of breaking glass had directed his attention to the crumpling ningyo, and he was slightly alarmed to see another doll some sliding down from heaven. Or climbing up from hell, whatever the case be.
"For ten bucks? Hell, I'd turn your skin inside out and steal your heart for money like that. " The sarcasm was heavy, but Rugg was still dealing with the reluctance that came with the thrashing of relatively innocent men.
The plan had been to just knock the guy unconscious, toss him to the side to either be teleported to a base somewhere, or wake up with a screaming headache a few hours later.
But things had to be complicated by the arrival of Archlich.
Ruggaso scowled deeply at the skeleton. The undead were a pain in the as' to deal with. Either you broke them or they broke you sometimes numerous times. And, of course, some didn't die if you simply /broke/ them into little bits. You had to do some crazy spells, make some sacrifices, curse their grave.
It could drive a man crazy.
Rugg, not really wanting to deal with ancient rituals and animated bones, cursed the walking bag of bones and, in so many words, told him to get lost. This wasn't his fight.
He eyed the icy armour from under knitted brows. Fight fire with fire? Or fire with water?
How about both?
Rugg turned up the heat that swirled around his body, and the flames moved up his body. His skin began to blister again, then to burn. He grunted in mute agony as the fire shield burnt away all his flesh and revealed the stone underneath. Now that there was no flesh to feel the pain, he could keep the battle going until he literally fell apart.
Anything constructed of ice would melt as soon as it reached the flames. Wood stood no chance. ((Going a bit beyond the game here, tell me if you object.)) Fire was useless it would only aid his aura. He flicked his wrist and the staligmite- tipped mace constrocted itself in his hands.
"Move it, bonehead. I don't have the patience to deal with the likes of you. My beef is with the doll-obsessed guy and his puppets."
((Clearing some things up. Sorry, Blarg, I didn't do the explanation very well IC. Here's an overview:
It was just a half-formed plot/idea/thing I kinda liked, just to connect the Chars a bit more. You see, since Physic was so impressed well, at least a bit respectful of iron Fist, she tired to help him the best she could. When she heard of his capture, she pulled a lot of strings and called in a few favours to keep him from being executed
Instead she got him a blank- long prison term. He did help save Paragon, after all. But if that conflicts with anything you had said, or anything about iron Fist's past, just tell me and I'll go back and edit it out.
And, a small theory of mine: When someone falls in battle, the do not actually die. The medi-porters activate and zip them back to the hospital where they're returned to full health. (If they are unconscious, without a chance of waking up within a short period of time, they'd be TP'd, Or, if they were on the brink of death. Healers can also help them in this point.)
But, if they receive no help, or the medi-porter is overloaded with traffic, the hero may not be revived in time and will actually perish. No chance of coming back. Kaput.
Anyways, what do yas think?))
((Oh, forgot to tack this on:
Before I post again... I just want to be absolutly sure of the circumstances. All the Arachnos troops are gone, except for the SV Wolf Spider Warrior. Iron Fist and Vim are gone, too.
And... you're gonna tag all the Villians with teleporters, and then evacuate from right under the heroe's noses? (Don't worry, none of the heroes will find out unless someone lets somethign slip IC. I'm not a lamer. :P)
Just checking. If there's somehting I missed, please tell me.))
OOC: Warrior is still around, yes, but so are his men. They are waiting for his signal to escape. Once the other villains have all been given teleport bugs then they will all escape. As for the teleporter issue, I think that it only really works if you are mortally wounded. If you are hit by, say, a sniper bullet to the head that scrambles your brains I don't think you're coming back unless someone uses an actual rezz on you. Anything less then complete and sudden death can be handled by the medi-porter. Of course, like you said, it can be overloaded at times or be hijacked by enterprising villains.
BIC: Archlich nodded in respect of the tanker's powers and tolerance for pain.
"From what I have heard of you Ruggaso you would make a fine villain. But allas, I cannot aquies to your demand. Despite evidence to the contrary, we who are labeled evil do stand together when worse comes to worse and this happens to be one of those times. Now, shall we fight or discuss the issues of morality a bit more?"
Archlich's eyes burned fiercely as he raised his blue energy shrouded fists. Off to the side, an Arachnos soldier popped his head over a chunk of rubble and saw the two villains facing off against the freakish flaming rock thing. Unable to figure out if they were all villains or not the soldier tossed a teleport bug to each of them and shouted.
"Hey! When you're done with whatever, grab one of those! When the captain gives the word we'll all teleport over to Mercy Island!" the soldier turned to leave to escape being the center of attention and then stopped and turned back, "Uhhh...You might want to hurry up 'cause the heroes are hitting us pretty hard."
Duty discharged, the soldier charged back into the fray.

((OK, that makes sense. Now we can say Fist just didn't know about that. Of course, the executioner would have a heck of a time trying to slice Fist's head off. Or electrocute him. Or pretty much anything really. ))
Iron Fist was now over the ocean. The soothing sounds of waves went into all of his senses. He loved the ocean. ut nobody, not even the mind-reader Psy, would ever know that. Suddenly, he noticed a very very small object on the back of Vim's shoulder. His practically microscopic vision picked up the sight of a tracker. He snarled and said, "Vim, hold still." The girl looked like she would argue, but the frosty glare from Fist told her not to. Fist went up to her, and gingerly removed the beacon with a small 'twick' sound. He scowled at it and called over to one of his troops. "Jenkins! Come here!"
((Couldn't resist.))
A tall, thin, nervous looking man came over. It seemed that one of his eyes kept twitching, while the other one darted about and kept straying from any particular target. "Yes m'liege? You wanted me?" Fist nodded and passed the tracking device to him. Fist said, "I'm sorry soldier." Jenkin's face looked puzzeled until he realized that Fist was pulling him towards the door. When Fist opened the door, his face turned into fright. And when Fist pushed him out of the vehical, 500 miles above the ocean, it turned into pure terror, but the only thing that could be heard from his lips were: "Bloody Hell."
Fist closed the door, turned to Vim and said, "I am sorry you had to witness that. Jenkins was a horrible soldier anyway." He went back to his seat and sat down. As soon as they got to Atlantis, things were going to get interesting for the people at the Zig...
OOC: Yeah I know get to tpying...what a battle though....
BIC: From his vantage point in the guards watch tower he could see the utter destruction caused by this breakout. There were heroes and villains strewn across the courtyard. The medcenters must be backed up something fierce he thought to himself. He never really considered himself a coward but being holed up this tower gave him that feeling. The tower shook again as a strange craft came into view. More villains must be escaping he thought.
" Get ready to use the teleporters," a voice in his head said. He quickly took off his helmet looking for where that strange voice had imanated from. He found the communication device and thanked his luck as he rifled through the uniforms pocket to find the telporter device. He held it in his hands wondering how he used it or if it just worked. Anyways he had his escape route now. All he had to was wait.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
They arrived exzactly at the loaction Cross Draw had told them they would. Immediatly they all activated thier travel powers and headed straight for the zig.
Cross Beam arrived there first. He quickly surveid the scene, using his analytical abilites he figured that within the hour the prison break would be quenched. He then surmassed who was leading the hero forces and teleported over to her to get a quick sitrep. As he matarialized a bolt of electricty hit him square in the back sending his circuits into shut down.
Cross Wind flew over the battle scene sending down bolts of lightning where ever they were needed. She was just a controller after all. She caught a hero falling out of the air and quickly activated his hospital telporter, but removed his headset and piped into the Hero frequancy. Cross Beam would need this info.
Cross Puch landed with a gaint thud, spilling arachnos soldiers with the force of his impact. " Time to hurt!", he yelled hoping it would scare some soldiers. He continued puching and slamming as many arachnos soldiers as he could. His foremost mission completely lost in his tiny little head.
Cross Draw arrived last and the battle was in full fever. Unfortunatly for the villains in the zig it looked as though they were losing. He concentrated his focus on a small rune tatooed on his brothers back and discerned his laction to be the eastern watchtower. His brother had never been a coward so why was he holed up now. He quickly called the arcane energies on his suit runes and ran for his brothers location.
(OOC....hopefully i kept it pretty much where it was..will right more but boss is coming back lol.

Keeping one eye on Ruggaso, Archlich bent down and picked up the two teleporter bugs, handing one of them to Kairaishi. Archlich attachted his onto the side of his skull and he was instantly tapped into the Arachnos comm. channels.
"Holy crap! Another one just came out of the sky! Hit it with the web grenades!"
"-is Sniper Nest 5, another hero do-"
"-need some help over here! There's a pair of-!"
"Aaugghhh!!!!"
Archlich winced from all the noise and tried to find some button to turn down the volume but as he tried another voice came on and overrode the other signals.
"This is Captain Sullivan. All forces will begin -*explosion*- three minutes -*cracking sound*- peat, evacuation in three -*static*"
Archlich looked over at Kairaishi and the oni-posessed human nodded that he too had heard.
"Three minutes can be a long time in battle." muttered Archlich.

Vim smiled, why would she care for the life of a weakling? No, she was impressed with Iron Fists display of mercilessness. She liked watching people get hurt, though most of the time she was the one doing the hurting. Watching people fall miles into the ocean was just as good, and twice as funny. She looked to Silver Skull and wished he had pushed him off instead, he was useless. Maybe she would do it herself.
She giggled and rubbed up against Iron Fist dreamily, she had never thought anyone could make her this happy, before only her solitude and money could do that. No, that had never come close to this. She vaguely wondered if she was falling in love, contemplated if that was a weakness, and came to the decision that Iron Fist would make a wonderful husband to a goddess such as herself.
Name. she said.
Whats that? Iron Fist asked.
Whats the name. Of the goddess. My new name.
Kairaishi smiled, lowering his shotgun and twirling the bug around in his hand, then hooking it over onto the front of his robe. "Those're the types of fights I really love. Long, drawn-out fights. Especially when you've got the upperhand." He reached into his robe and pulled out a few wires, quickly cracking open the bug's shell and feeding the wires inside--he hooked up the bug to his entire suit, and then fed up one wire behind his head, hooking it into a spare port underneath his hat. He instantly winced as static loudly sounded inside of his ears, and he clutched his ears with both hands, grunting softly. He slowly reached up with one hand, adjusting a few wires, and smiled when the static softened as a result. There was really only one channel on this thing, but that didn't mean he had to hear absolutely everything. He let go of his ear with his other hand, starting to mess with the bug even further, changing the locations of a few wires and pushing one deeper inside, while pulling one up. He smiled once more, apparently satisfied with the result that it gave him, and then leaned over, picking up his shotgun again. He gave the shuck a quick pump, ejecting the spent shell that he never replaced earlier, and fed a new shell into the tube.
He then holstered the shotgun over his shoulder, lifting up both hands and standing stiffly, pounding a fist into a palm, narrowing his eyes. "Hey, Tanker...how good are your senses? After all, you've got to have something to back up your eyes when they fail." He quickly turned over to Archlich, thrusting his hand out, black energy seeping out from his armor and crawling off the ground, quickly slithering up the skeleton's form with a sensation of what could only be described as "really freakin' cold". For a minute, his vision would be shot, as the light spectrum started to bend around him, changing...but soon, his vision would be fine again, though he would definately notice that he appeared to be staring at the world as if he was surrounded by water. If he peered down at himself, he would notice that he was...invisible.
Kairaishi chuckled a bit, starting to prepare the same thing for his own minions. Unless Rugasso acted quickly, he would not only have to deal with an invisible Archlich, but invisible puppets as well.
The Vehicle that belonged to the Grigori stopped a few feet above ocean. Bounty looked at the tracking device. He then looked out and saw Jenkins dead body. Damnit. Bounty Killa said in frustration. Marco looked at him. Dont worry Kade, we will find her." Marco smiled at Bounty. They headed toward Marco's new base.
Iron Fist smiled. "Your new name is Jord. The goddess of Earth, wilderness, and hunting. I thought a huntress would befit you perfectly." Fist looked out the window. They were almost there. "And if you're thinking of killing Skull, don't. Unfortunately, we must keep him alive. But his fate will be much worse than death..." He briefly looked down at Vim's state of admiration. "But enough of that talk. We are here. Welcome... to Atlantis."
OOC: Waiting on Bagle. Iron Fist sure is getting deep (pun intended) isn't he? I wonder what his little 'surprise' is.

(OOC: Hope I remember Atlantis accurately, send me a PM if you want me to edit anything about it!)
Jord, formerly known as Vim, stared out her window with almost child-like wonderment. The city was beautiful, it shined like the sun, with spires and elegant structures dotting every bit of it. The vehicle closed in and she could only watch.
"Atlantis?" she finally gasped. "We live here? Amazing. King and Queen."
((OOC- Perfect Billyboy. I was actually hoping you'd add to it! ))
"Indeed. Eventually, we shall gather one man or woman for every god or goddess, only then will we start the new world order." The ship landed on a pad similar to a helicopter pad. The new king and queen walked out of the craft, the soldiers making a line to salute them. Vim, or Jord as she was now called, looked very impressed. But there was more. As they went on, they saw tropical trees with gigantic colorful birds in them. She saw humongous fish in the rivers and streams crossing the streets... over AND under.
They finally got to a large dome, as tall as the Empire State Building, and about 500 times as thick. They entered and appeared in a large 'office.' "This is the--for what a better word I wouldn't give--the 'waiting room.' We will be arriving at your quarters soon." The pair went through the building, sometimes seeing soldiers who saluted immidiately as they saw them. They went through hallways and rooms, Iron Fist-- or Ares as he was known to the immortals--explaining each room as they went along. After exploring the whole place thoughrly, ((?)) the two entered a gigantic room, the ceiling actually just as tall as the building itself. Somehow, there was water floating above them, holding exotic fish.
"And here is your room." he said, motioning towards a large rectangular door, intrically carved with the symbol of a tree. As Ares opened the door, Jord--or Vim to tthe mortals--gasped. The entire room was filled with trees. There was a small pond with crystal stepping stones so somebody could get to the middle; for at center, there was slightly large island that matched the stepping stones. Circling the island, there was a white fish with a black spot on its head, and a black fish with a white spot on its head. In the trees, there were were small birds in strange colors. "Does this please you?" inquired Ares.
OOC: Someone's been watching The Last Avatar. Or is it just The Avatar? Or The Last Airbender? Something like that. I recognize those fish.

Yes. Jord whispered as she walked forward, examining the room from every angle with more than a passing interest. Shed never dreamed of living in such a wonderous place. It sure beat her old apartment, which she had never liked. In fact, this room seemed a hundred times more beautiful now that she looked back at the homes in Paragon. She never wanted to leave again, she wanted to stay here with Ares for the rest of her life. Of course, they were immortal, so that would be a very long time. She could be unopposed forever.
The vision of the hated hero, Billyboy, floated to the forefront of her mind. She growled ferally, causing Iron Fist to look at her inquisitively. Jord wanted revenge for the embarrassment heroes had caused her. Revenge for the villains who used her. Revenge for all of Paragon City and their stupid Ziggersky!
Clothes. Jord said angrily. We'll go back to Paragon and take over. First, fitting clothes.
((OOC- Yeah, ok so I ripped off the Airbender. I'm pretty sure that the show isn't going to sue CoH cause I did that lol.))
Fist looked at Jord. "Yes. You must have a fitting outfit. Come with me." The two of them left the magnificent room. It seemed that there was a door for every god or goddess. "Eventually, every one of these rooms will be filled. But that is off the subject. I will introduce you to Hermes." Jord and Ares went towards a door with a neptune carved into the side. Fist knocked and the door opened. What Jord saw took her breath away. Every single one of the planets, including some that Jord didn't realize existed, were floating around a floating man that appeared to be meditating. "My liege? Do you require me?" Ares motioned towards Jord. "This is Jord. She is our newest member of--excuse me for using Lord Recluse's term--Destined One. She requires a new set of clothing. Call in Artise." "Yes, m'liege." replied Hermes--who to mortals was commonly known as Psy.
Hermes touched his hand to his forhead, and the results were immidiate. A tall, skinny man with a gaunt face and pale complexion appeared before them. "M'liege? You called me?" Artise spoke with a very slow and wavery voice, as if he was extremely old. But his face made him look like he was in his thirties yet strangely ageless. His atire was black and grey, with bone going across his body. "Artise. I need you to find this girl's measurements. You will adress her as ma'am, or sire. DO you understand?" His mouth hardly even moved as he said "Of course my liege." A measuring tape seemingly appeared at his hands he got them from his pockets so fast. He went to work. Up, down, left, right. He was moving faster than it seemed possible. In a flash, he was done. "What will it look like?" he asked in his slow, raspy voice of his. Iron Fist gave him a sheet of paper that Jord had not noticed before. Artise's eybrows went up for a moment, but he said nothing. He teleported away, but came back almost as fast. In his hands was possibly the most astonishing thing Jord had ever seen. It was a dark green in color, with red, gold, and yellow highlights. It appeared to be made of bark and leaves, yet when she touched the outside it felt like metal. The insides felt like the smoothest and most comfortable cloth she could ever imagine. Ares smiled. "From the look on your face, I am guessing it pleases you. Go to your room and put it on. Then our little surprise for those at the Zig begins."
OOC: Vim and Fist sitting in a tree, .k...i...s..s..i.. you know the rest.
BIC:
All he had to do was wait. Waiting had become his pastime, his hobby and his friend. He counted down the 180 seconds it would take before he would find out if his teleporter just worked or if he had to press a button. He looked out of the window on the tower to see how the battle was going, after all he was worried he didn't have 180 seconds to spare. In his vision he could see a hero streaking straight for his little cubbyhole. Who the hell was this hero that was coming for him and why did he ignore the rest of the battle. He tensed backed into a corner of a room and prepared for a battle. He knew he could hold out for 57 more seconds, he had that much power.
Nineteen seconds away from freedom, thrity-eight seconds of waiting for this mystery hero to appear the door burst open in a gouge of flame and smoke. The cluttler making it impossible to see who had come through the door, and who was hiding in a corner. When the debree settled both hero and villain stared at each other, one with utter confusion in his eyes, and one with utter hatred laid on his face.
"Your dead?", Cross Fire simply said.
"I know, you killed me", Cross Draw said with contempt.
"Your dead.", Cross Fire said again. Tears weeling up in his eyes remembering the last time he saw his brother, he was a charred lump of flesh 20 stories below him.
" I know brother, you killed me, you killed your twin." Cross Draw said as his eyes narrowed in anger. Cross Draw leapt for his brother trying to return the favor his brother bestowed on him two years ago.
As Cross Draw came across the room his face full with fury, Cross Fire recalled his count had ended one second ago. The room faded, his stomach turned the stench of sweat, decay, death, and battle faded from his nostrils to be replaced with the smell of the ocean. He stood up and looked around at his surroundings. His brother was still alive, he waisted two years of his life rotting in the zig for a crime he didn't commit. His brother would pay.
His brother vanished before his eyes. Cross Draw had come close to locking his brother up again. His brother had taken his life in cold blood. His brother would be brought to justice.
Jord smiled and walked back to her quarters, feeling the wonderous material that made her armor the whole way. She was amazed, she'd never imagined her life would lead her to such greatness. Before she had lived for money, now she lived for power. And so much power she had!
The goddess entered her room and stripped off the prison garb, happy to be rid of the disgusting thing. She leapt into the lake and washed herself of the Ziggursky's rancid stench. She got out and let the air dry her, she was in no hurry at the moment, she was contemplating too many things. Her mind was buzzing with new notions and ideas the former mercenary had never brought to mind when she was an ignorant mortal.
She walked out in her armor, letting her hair fall to her shoulders instead of her usual ponytail. Nothing was the same with her anymore, it was like she wasn't even the same person. And she really didn't mind, Vim had been a fool. Jord was strong. She wouldn't be beaten by a foolish young man with an undeserved sense of self appreciation.
"Let the plan begin." she smiled to Iron Fist. "I'd like to hurt them."
"You look stunning. Let us go." He motioned for Hermes to follow. They walked out of the room with the god's and goddess' dorms and went through a hidden door. The door closed behind them and the three entered a room that's only light was a dark red one. There was a holographic prjector in the very middle of the high-tech room. There were small flashing beacons all over it. Ares walked up to the see-through globe and touched one of the blinking dots. As soon as he did so, the Earth dissapeared and a new image apeared. It was as if there was live camera feed coming dirrectly from the island prison. The Zig was there, every detail in amazing accuracy, everything could be seen from right there. Strangely, Hermes got out a chess board and set it up on a small table in front of the floating picture. He waved his hand and three seats floated over to them. Fist motioned to sit, and they all did, Ares pushing in Jord's chair for her. ((He's a gentleman. )) "Let the game begin."
Fist moved a piece on the board. Immidiately, the scene in the holographic projector changed. A few of Longbow and Arachnos seemingly lost their minds and shot at their own troops. Even a few heroes attacked their fellows. "Spys." explained Fist to the slightly confused Jord. "But this is only the beginning." said Ares ominously.
Captain Sullivan rolled to one side, dodging the fire ball that had been whizzing toward him. Paying no attention to the screams that came from behind him, Sullivan lifted up his arm and fired a concentrated blast of radiation at the offending hero. The blaster dodged as well, jumping over the blast, and gave Sullivan the finger. Glaring, the Wolf Spider Warrior charged up for another blast when a hammer slammed into his back. Stumbling forward, Sullivan righted himself and spun to face his atacker. His rad blast was out and flying before he even noticed that it was one of his men that had attacked him.
Damn pyschic heroes. Sullivan thought as the former Arachnos soldier went tumbling through the air.
But then he noticed that several other soldiers of his were attacking their own. The odd thing was that they were very spread out so it couldn't have been a mass confusion. Sullivan got a bad feeling and looked over his shoulder to find the heroes in equal straits. As he watched, the blaster that had thrown the fireball at him rocked back from a punch that a smaller woman had delivered.
Even the remaining Longbow troops were affected. A Longbow agent with a hulking minigun opened fire on a group of dueling heroes and villains. Some managed to escape but a few went down and disappeared into bright flashes. Trying to extricate himself from the battle Sullivan activated his comm. link.
"That's it men, we're done here. Time to port home and clean things up. And to those who have betrayed us, I can activate all teleport bugs with the push of a button. You won't be surviving this one." he growled.
Pulling a device from his belt, Sullivan pressed the recessed red button and...

Jord watched the chaos with interest. She wondered how he had gotten double agents on both sides, it was like he had been planning for the breakout. It didnt look like it would really mean anything, however.
The spiders are about to scuttle away. She said angrily. Theyll take the Arachnos loyal men and yours, youve wasted your time.
Iron Fist smiled knowingly and opened the door to his ancient 'jet.' "More you shall get young one. More you shall get." The three of them climbed in with the rest of the troops, Silver Skull getting ugly glances from the soldiers. The troops that had been sent down with Fist to help out got in as well. Fist took his customary place next to the pilot and made sure that Vim got a good seat to see through the windows. Her breath would be taken away when she saw her new base of operations. Fist motioned for them to set off and they went on their way. But Fist still had some surprises for Longbow and Arachnos...
((Stay tuned, more is coming up!))
((Much better Gideon. Thanks a bunch.))
