A Guide to the Paladin
Be fantastic if you could provide screenshots from the 3 sights (well the other 2), or map locations for them.
Excellent information! You beat me to the guide i was putting together.
On a side note, while on test Thursday, i was testing the Paladin spawn myself, verifying things i'd read or heard, and came across the spawn at the northeastern spawn point. So he does spawn at the other locations. Keep in mind this was on test though.

Editing time went ploop. Well, I'm not going to recopy the whole thing with only 2 replies.
There are 3 spawn points.
- One is in the southwest corner, around an electrical tower just bordering a warehouse. (513.0 -42.0 2787.9)
- One is towards the middle of KR, and is in the large electrical complex. (-1639.7 -42.0 1729)
- The final one is in the northeast, just south of Royal Refinery, near the spherical silos. (-2865.3 -42.0 -506.9)
And thanks for the info on the spawn points.

great info dude... thanks very much =D
Is there a 'how often does he spawn and what times' post somewheres?

There is no real timing for it, it's random. However, how often in general is something I would love to figure out.

I've heard elsewhere it has a "build up" period, where you get more and more clocks and eventualy it just spawns him.
Or something.
To the OP, thanks! Exactly what I was looking for! I'm about to outlevel the Eden Trial and am waiting for a friend to become available to do it. Hence, I've been having to find things to do that generate little to no xp. I've spent HOURS recently haunting KR trying to find this SOB, the last Monster that I need to get. Oddly enough, it turns out I found at least two of the spawn points on my own - I'll have to verify the third using the coordinates in this thread.
Again, thanks all! Now I'll just have to keep camping...<sigh>
Fantastic! Thanks, I'll be hunting Paladin soon.
If anyone else has more info, it'd be appreciated too.
So the clockwork building him are con purple as well? That'd make it awful difficult if you couldn't withstand the assault of that many purples at once. Do you know if they're +4 or higher?

No, pardon me for the confusion. When they spawn, they spawn like when an Assembler Prince spawns cogs, there's a sound and a very bright purple glow. They don't actually con purple, thank my tights.

The 3 spawn points seem to always pop mobs like an assembler prince does. Is it just a matter of standing there watching them until they (after forever and a day) get around to constructing the paladin?
Has a lower level spawn (5-6s, as opposed to the occasional 15s that show up) ever been known to construct him?
Been camping for over a week now and getting pretty sick/pissed off with it.

Since I wasn't actually there when it started to spawn, I don't know if it just uses the current spawn or just despawns them.
The sites always spawn the clockwork like that, however.
As for the level question, are there in fact varying levels that are purple-spawned? I've never personally noticed.

Oh yes they spawn levels 5-7 for awhile(from what I have noticed) then 10-12 then 5-7 boss groups then 10-12 boss groups then 5-7 minion/lt groups. At least that was the most usual pattern.
TW/Elec Optimization
When I'd seen them spawning in a pattern it seemed to include the parts piles in it too. Like it'd be little spawn, little + parts, big, dual little, dual little + parts, big + parts.
I never saw it get out of that spawn cycle tho and hit something that looked different, like it might be constructing a paladin. Other than the random 4-bosses in the spawn spawns, and hanging around for those didn't produce a guy.
Do you kill the minions and lieuis that spawn in the spawn points in order to hasten the Paladin's return or does it not really matter? Too bad no on has the time intervals that this guy sticks to. Thanks for the guide, it has been a huge help so far.

No offense directly intended, but, did you miss this nice bolded part?

These spawns do not affect the chances of the Paladin itself spawning or not spawning. Interacting with them will not affect anything. Standing anywhere near the spawn points will not affect the spawn.

Yes, yes I did. This is why reading is fundemental! Thanks again for the help!
Nice guide. Thanks for posting this!
Just a note.... A few months ago, right around when Issue 3 went live, I bumped into the Paladin on test. I logged in and he was jumping over a fence into an alley. Since I was over double his level, I went after him solo. It was a long fight but I managed to win. You get NO badge for defeating a completed Paladin. Those of you wondering if there could be a second badge in this, there ain't.
Yet.
(Oh, and the Paladin was pretty much alone. There was no parade of clockwork following him, just a normal clockwork spawn that happened to be near when I layed into him.)
Actually, I have a demo, let me get some shots....
The Paladin
He had the standard clockwork electric blasts. My elec/elec blaster had Thunderous Blast. I win.
(And I'll leave out the bit where some -25 Tesla Knight stuck me in a cage right as I was trying to gloat over the dead Paladin. <grumble grumble>
Well, I'm not sure if the Pally's pals despawn after a while or what.
Both times I've seen him active he had at least a few clockwork left over from the construction site following him. (Of course once was back when Stickman was only level 18 or so I think, so that parade of CW left a mark or two, luckily I was at the train station.)
In fact, now that I think of it, both times I saw the Paladin completed it was over by the train.... And of course what inspired me to stop the diabolical mechanical menace was of course 3 things:
- The Badge
- My Tech Origin
- THE FACT THAT THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM, HE WAS COMPLETED, HIS CRONIES TRIED TO KILL ME, AND WHEN I FINALLY LAND ONE HIT ON HIM, HE DIS-A-FREAKIN-PEARS.

Thanks again for the guide man, this is really useful. I only knew 1 spawn before this.

Possible. Or they may just get seperated over time. This was a couple of weeks after Issue 3 had come out so it's possible nobody had been in King's Row at all for several hours. Or maybe somebody had been on and finished them off but couldn't finish the Paladin. Heck, maybe some police bots picked them off. <shrug>
They do get seperated I followed Palidin's rampage around KR.After a few blocks he was all by himself.
"So you want to nick the Paladin in the bud, eh Timmy? Well I hope you think before you leap!"
Ahem. >.>
Anyway, seeing as now I've finally tracked down the Paladin, I've decided to throw out a guide for newbie to experienced players alike. I also just typed a good portion of this on a topic on GameFAQs for someone, so why let it go to waste?
So you want to stop the Paladin?
There are 3 spawn points.
- One is in the southwest corner, around an electrical tower just bordering a warehouse.
- One is towards the middle of KR, and is in the large electrical complex.
- The final one is in the northeast, just south of Royal Refinery, near the spherical silos.
Each of these three sites will spawn "purple" clockwork, which basically appear as though they were summoned by an Assembler Prince. Also there will sometimes be junkpiles scattered about, some clickable some not.
These spawns do not affect the chances of the Paladin itself spawning or not spawning. Interacting with them will not affect anything. Standing anywhere near the spawn points will not affect the spawn.
Okay, now it's confirmed: Paladin can spawn at any of the three sites.
Spotting the construction:
1) A rediculous number of junkpiles. I mean a LOT.
2) A large object with an HP bar called "Monster Construction" (A level 15 Giant Monster, IIRC)
(A good picture can be found here.)
At this point, you must continuously keep the clockwork from building the Paladin. The MC will always start with 1/4 health or so and if you bring it to 0 it will automatically come back after a second or two with 1/4 again.
There will be Clockwork swarming in 2 ways:
- They will be summoned via junkpiles. One of the clockwork will yell "Build more troops to protect the construction!", which serves as a good warning.
- Clockwork will spawn from a short distance away and march along to the MC carrying materials.
From here, all you basically need to do is keep them from swarming the MC, if they do, you will see a green +number as they 'heal' it. I honestly don't know if you can just ignore the clocks and continue bashing the MC for the whole time.
After about 20 minutes of on and off swarming, the clockwork will yell "We can no longer protect the construction!" and run away. At that point all you need to do is destroy the MC for the final time and you will get "BADGE EARNED".
Badge: Knight Errant
Info: You have helped defeat the Clockwork Paladin, a diabolical invention of the Clockwork King.
However, if you fail to keep them from building the Paladin, he will activate as a level 15 Giant Monster. As far as I know, he then proceed to parade around KR with an army of clockwork following behind him.
