Anybody know where we might find CoH merchandise such as shirts, bumper stickers, etc?
I looked all over www.coh.com but it's late and I may have missed the location.

The Asian outfits are cool, very cool.

General Mao Zedong would of been proud.
You probably asked when CoV is going to be released and they probably gave you a answer like, "when its ready", but have they mention about having CoV done on schedule and if they hit any major brick walls atm?

Several of the people there said Radiation Defenders and Tankers are "really nasty".

Heh heh..

I asked about Pistols ... power sets. Statesman confirmed "yup", so they're comming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was this in referrence to scrappers at all?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, yes it was.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay so thats like 5 confirmations for Scrapper pistols. Im sure blasters will accept it soon.
I still don't get how scrappers can have pistols, they're much more suited for blasters, IMO.
lol

When you look at it from the basic concept of ranged vs melee, then yes, pistols should be blaster primaries.
But, when you apply COH physics to it, and consider a pistol is a short ranged weapon, it is more suited to a scrapper. Blasters can't get close. I play one, I know. Pistol range will probably be lower than the 1st Blaster attack power. If you're a blaster thats not where you want to be standing! Pistol Scrappers, IMO will probably have a few punches and kicks thrown in there to keep it in line with other scrappers.
Pistol welders on TV and the like normally are pretty decent fighters too. Does Jack Bauer ever get one shotted? Hell no
I think the easiest way to explain it is look at my Avatar.
This is a pretty acurate depiction of PvP in CoH, with the guy in white being Pistols/Super Reflexes, and the guys in Black being Assault Rifle/Devices.
I kid, I kid
any clues on what might happen to regen?, im starting to get scared. and if they say that invuln it too powerful and empathy arent, when there are team fights wont invuln be "turd" like? and is PvP a seperate program from regular CoH?
I just came back from the third day of this awesome event.
Highlights for me:
-The Serenity Panel: Joss Whedon, Nathon Fillion (Mal), Summer Glau (River) and Adam Baldwin (Jayne) all showed up for this, and put on an awesome panel. You can tell the cast of the show/movie are all really good friends in real life, and they were friendly with even the weirdest fans. They showed us a scene from the movie, which looks [censored] amazing. Also, Joss started the panel by bringing up John Cassaday and announcing they would be doing a second year of Astonishing X-men, ending with the first ever Astonishing X-men Annual. w00t!
-Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes: Jason didn't really talk, but Kevin was hilarious as always. The funniest was when both realized the poor sign language interpreter had to translate everything they said. I now know the sign language for "[censored]."
-The Batman Begins Panel: Christian Bale showed up, and he was a really cool guy. Again, they showed us a trailer that no one had seen before.
-The Hitchhiker's Panel: The exec producer of the movie was the lead guy, and he seems to actually understand Hitchhikers. Apparently, he was a personal friend of Douglas Adams before he died. The full theatre size preview of the movie is literally the best movie preview I've ever seen.
-Free Enterprise and Starship Smackdown III: Both fun panels, the movie (Free Enterprise, it's about two Trekkies who finally get to meet Shatner and realize he's insane) was hilarious, and the Smackdown panel came down to a draw between the Serenity and the NC-1701.
I also got to meet Ray Park (Darth Maul), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Rob Van Dam.
Oh yeah, and meeting Statesman and getting a CoV shirt was awesome.
Lowlight:
-"Inside Episode III" with Steve Sansweet - You know those Hyperspace behind the scenes things about Episode III that have been out since this SUMMER? That's all they showed. [censored] you Lucasfilm.
Best Moment of the Whole Damn Thing:
-Right before I left today, I realized that I'd dropped a set of blueprints from Mallrats that I'd bought earlier in the day. Obviously, somebody made off with them and I never saw them again. In desperation, I returned to the View Askew booth to see if by some far off chance I could get replacements. The guy who played Steve-Dave in Mallrats was working the counter, and reeeallly didn't seem enthusiastic about the giving [censored] away for free idea. Then, who should walk around the corner but Kevin Smith. As I'm trying to remain dignified and NOT turn into a drooling fanboy, he says "We have the display blueprints, but they're a little ripped, you want 'em?" He gives me the stuff for free. AWESOME guy.I just came back from the third day of this awesome event. It's held in San Francisco every year, and run by the same guys who do the San Diego Comic Con (which I'm gonna try and go to again this year). Anyone else go?

I was there. I got a few CoH shirts. I answered two obscure trivia questions, and one rather easy one. Was cool to try out the i4 costume stuff. Cryptic's dev team rocks and meeting them was icing on the cake.
Excellent. Thanks for the info. I can't wait.

Thanks for answering, Aaron.
I think it's about time for a CoH site store.
I so want a "I'm not a superhero but I play one online" bumper sticker!
I was there for Friday and Saturday. I was going to show up Sunday with my camera to take some pictures of the character generation screen.
So I remembered the camera, but forgot my Con pass

Hey all... I found this site...
http://www.makestickers.com/
And for about $5 I am going to get the bumpersticker. I wish it had the CoH logo, but I don't want any lawsuits coming my way... so it'll just have the saying.
(as far as I know that's not copyrighted!
)
It's a pretty fun site...check it out... free shipping/handling, too. No minimum order.
Some post some pictures.....I know someone has some...
I once emailed their marketing department as I wanted to have a contest for my SG--I was told that these were not available as yet.
Here is the full response:

Hello,
Thank you for contacting support. At this time, no T-shirts or similar merchandise are being sold by NCsoft or Cryptic for City of Heroes. If this changes, you will find the merchandise at this link:
http://www.plaync.com/store/index.html
Thanks!
Thanks everyone who posted about the event, lots of great info here.

Femal avatars got a lot of new clothing options. A while new skirt catagory and a bunch of new shoe styles. They also got some new hair styles. Oh, yeah the over sized Japanese socks are in there. Rejoince, those of you who were begging to get them.

I was wondering if you (or anyone else who tried the new costume options) could tell me if a skirt that looks like this is going to be available in Issue 4.

Because pistols are a close range weapon. There are people that are good enough to use them out to 30 yards, but mostly in target practice situations where they have a chance to set up, etc. Most handgun fights happen within 21 feet of each other, for good reason. Handguns are inherently less accuarte at range than rifles. They're meant for close-in fighting, both because of their size and maneuverability and because of their complete uselessness at long range.
Now, if you want to play a blaster that gets within 20 feet of their enemies constantly, feel free...

I work at Police Training for my city...and prob around 90% of handgun fights are around 3-10 feet...So your lucky to survive a real life handgun shooting. I can see why its a scrappers power set....awsome choice by the Dev's....
The other thing to consider was that one of hte big "no nos" of switching to the AT design was that Range + Defense was an overpowering combo. However, if you look at spines with it's semi-range, people don't just spam the range powers and run away, they're up in the grill. And honestly, with how strong defenses are, it doesn't really matter if you're taking ranged shots or not. Hell, if someone made a Pistols/Invuln, they'd WANT to be in melee.
So, yeah, do it gun-kata style, and people will WANT to step into mele range if it maximizes their damage.
