any clues on what might happen to regen?, im starting to get scared. and if they say that invuln it too powerful and empathy arent, when there are team fights wont invuln be "turd" like? and is PvP a seperate program from regular CoH?

[/ QUOTE ]
My main is a Spines/Regen so I did ask about Regen. Statesman basically said "regen is great" but never said anything negative about it. Never said "nasty", "too powerful", "unbalanced". He did use those words when talking about other powers / powersets.

Would it be possible for you to list the ones that Statesman considered unbalanced or is that something he doesn't want you to comment on?

No. It's one of those things he said "and please don't share that with the general community." and I agreed.

I've been part of this community since about 18 months before beta. I'm not about to stab Jack in the back now. Sorry, hope you can understand.

Sure, I can understand. I would have actually been a bit surprised if you were allowed to talk about it, but figured it was worth asking since it was mentioned and I'm taking highlights from the thread to post for my SG for those who can't access this thread at work or whatever.

I was wondering if you (or anyone else who tried the new costume options) could tell me if a skirt that looks like this is going to be available in Issue 4.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thats not a skirt, thats a towel :P

Actuallly its more like an extension of the blouse than anything else. Why don't you ever seen women who dress like that in real life?

Tekken and Steert Fighter.

Only digital women and women paid to look like digital women wear clothes like that.

I asked about how PvP a lot. I'm sad to say Statesman said it was "off the record" meaning I cannot tell you much, but I can say that they're really thought in through and no AT is going to "suck". Several of the people there said Radiation Defenders and Tankers are "really nasty". Statesman said, and I quote "it's not that other sets are underpowered, it's that Invuln is, well, a bit over the top". That was in reference to PvP in particular.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well this is interesting to see. I just got done testing the new Invuln for Tankers and posting my guide. I have been pretty happy with the new Invuln, and hope Statesman was in fact more concerned with PvP here rather than PvE. Tanking some of the TFs can be a nightmare now, changing it in PvE, could make some of these untenable. I would be curious to see as to what he means here exactly. I have seen non-Invuln sets do some pretty amazing things, including soloing AVs apparently, something I sure cannot do. Admittedly though, Invuln is very good for raw damage mitigation.

Don't forget Dead or Alive, which is where that pic is actually from.

I know its not really a skirt, but don't know what it really would be called. If it was added to CoH it would most likely be a skirt option unless it was attached to a top like the shirts with tails they are adding. It would fit with the whole anime/manga theme and DOA is a game that has anime inspired characters, and this game was adding anime/manga inspired costumes, so seemed like a decent and possible addition.

Edit:
There are other women that wear those types of clothes, just not normally. Go to an anime/gaming convention and you'll see a lot of females (and a few males) dressed in clothes like that.

It's a loin cloth. If it's wrapped around between the legs, it's a loin clout.

Yeah, I could see how you could put the new femail Asian pieces together to create a school girl look. At least better than you can now. Most of the pieces were still unnamed, so there wasn't any peice called "Japanese School Girl Outfit" or anything like that.

Can anyone tell me if there are new armor options in the character creator? I'm desperate for some edgier powered armor looking stuff. The current medeval and robotic suits are just not cutting it

I still don't get how scrappers can have pistols, they're much more suited for blasters, IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think part of the reason is also that pistols don't really have the flexibility of blaster powers. Unless they made it a super-futuristic-pistol set: No Blaster style AOEs (although I imagine there will be short range 'spin' AOEs), no real status effects, no Novas. The future blaster set I've heard mentioned repeatedly by Statesman is the Bow Set, which makes a bit of sense. Longer range than your basic pistol (believe it or not), a variety of effects (a la Green Arrow: Net Arrows, explosive arrows, glue arrows, etc.) and slightly slower attacks than the scrapper speedies. I don't think Blasters will be neglected, just get a set that (in comic logic anyway) is more akin to the existing Blaster sets.

Just highlighting this as statements like this have been known to cause fear, panic and flames on the boards. Most likely, from what you say, States meant that INV was overpowered for PvP purposes. To all you INVs, it's been mentioned on several threads in the COV section by none less than Lord Recluse himself that, when necessary, they will take how powers work in PvP WITHOUT changing them for PvE. So it would certainly be premature to think there is any suggestion in this statement that INV will be nerfed (again).

Just butting in as I'm wont to do.

Yeah, I did kind of regret posting that after I posted it.

The reference was directly to PvP and not PvE.

/em sigh of relief

I saw the 'principally' for PvP and was thinking:"Ack!". Luckily, I tend to post in a mellow tone, and not OMG! posts very much.

Though really, they need to nerf just Iron Vixen.

That costume could be quite distracting in combat.

By nerf, do mean make it smaller? It can't get too much smaller than it is.
