OOC: Server Crossover

It's been an idea kicked around in another thread to have roleplayers from different servers go over to the Test Server to conduct some sort of crossover event. I guess I'm taking it upon myself to head up the venture. As it stands right now, Halorin is level 30, but is fast approaching level 31. I'm imaging most of the people wanting to participate in this event are at least in the upper 30s, so I'm wondering what is something that we could all do?

I'd like to get a list of people who want in on this, and I'll try to come up with a storyline leading up to the meeting on the Test Server. We'll have to schedule a date and everything OOC, but I will keep people on their toes about the actual story of it.

Sign up as follows.

I'm imagining this will be done on a weekend. I'd like for the highest level person to set aside a set of missions, and we'll have to coordinate who's going to mentor or exemplar who. If there's some sort of trial we could do, that'd be even better. Not sure if they let sidekicks into Trials and Task Forces these days, though.

So who's in?

I'd certainly like to get in on this, though my highest-level toons might be a bit too low for the plan, especially if we're looking at 30+ as the level range:

Name: Mindora
Server: Virtue
Security Level: 22
Archetype: Defender (FF/DB)

Name: Agent Ravage
Server: Virtue
Security Level: 13 (almost to 14...)
Archetype: Blaster (AR/Dev)

I'd bring Mindy, unless others from KGB Special Section 8 sign up, in which case I'll try my damnedest to bring Ravage up to an acceptably playable security level so he can join his SG-mates (in theory, he could even be the catalyst for the KGB and anyone else from Virtue who wants in to get to the Test Server reality: his teleportation technology is from Project Rainbow, AKA the Philadelphia Experiment, and is notoriously unstable).

Looks like I have some levelling to do...

War Cat, EarthShade, BrightShard, Chakat Streak, Chakamil Silverspot, Mindora, Diabolesse, Jasper Baen
KGBSS8: Agent Ravage, Pestilence Girl, Umbral Claw, Howlback, Dr. Glit
Young Phalanx: Necril, Blazing Witch

I would love to do this, RL permitting, let me know a date and start time. :0

I'll spread the word on Victory once a date is set. There's about twenty or thirty roleplayers that I know of who would likely be interested, ranging from several 50's to the high teens.

As for activities, most of the trials have rather strict limits. A Cavern of Transcendence trial would be fun, if only because it's so new and such a royal pain in the [censored] to get that most folks mains will never have done it. Otherwise, I'd be up for just joining a temporary supergroup or three and running various story arcs together. Even if we just gather somewhere and chat, that would be fun - or have a clearinghouse area where folks not on teams will hang out until they get picked up - or for those who prefer to roleplay mainly while things are calm, instead of during a fight.

Also, IMHO for this first event, players *will* be bringing their mains. Maybe in later events we'll bring our other characters to show off.

Just as a note for those who didn't know, as of Issue 3 the Transcendence Trial is, effectively, a mini-Task Force of one mission. There's a strict level requirement (12 to 16). Exemplars can get in; however, sidekicks cannot, as they are too low to get into the Tunnels. And of course, a full eight-person team is required to get past the first part of the cavern itself, since eight objects have to be clicked simultaneously. If somebody loses exemplar beforehand due to either themselves or the person they RSKed to losing connection, for example, then it's blown. I ran the trial recently with Mindora, who had to exemplar to get into it, and while I didn't lose my exemp, our 20-something scrapper did. Fortunately, it didn't happen until after we'd handled the clickies and were fighting our way to the boss, so we were able to finish the trial without a full team. But it was still a pain.

BTW, Virtue just had a series of related board posts that turned out to be part of a very well thought out RP event. While there were some snags (as would be expected in something like this), I'd recommend reading this thread for some advice on how to run something like this. Feel free to PM me if you want some slack-jawed yokel input!

Now, more than ever, Paragon City needs heroes. Do your part to save it.

Well that sounds like a plan Hal. Depending on what the actual task that needs completing is I'll be bringing either:

Name: Super-Shock
Server: Virtue
Security Level: 45
Archetype: Invun/Energy tanker

or

Name: Critical Lass
Server: Virtue
Security Level: 29
Archetype: Rad/Rad defender

Would it be a good idea to make a temporary supergroup fro each server on test? That way you could easily see:

Ascendant
<Virtue>

And things like that in-game. Saves you the trouble of asking OOC what server they're from... but I don't know if that's the plan or not, just throwing the idea in.

And if this goes well... I'm up for more crossovers in the future. And when CoV hits, fighting other character's nemesi(nemesises? nemesees?) from another server will be pretty darn cool.

Should designate a SG for each server and each SG name should be named after their server of origin such as Paragons of Virtue or Heroes of Victory or Lords of Liberty. But you could never have a title with another server's name in it such as "Infinity
Justice" or "Liberty Protector."

Don't mess with Texas!

Still here, guys. I'm trying to take everyone's level into account and figure out what we can do. I'll be sending some PM's out to people to see what kind of assignments they can grab and section off for this. I haven't checked those ideas just yet, Ascendant, but I will later on tonight.

I've been waiting eagerly for something like this to take place, as well. Though Paladin's more of an 'actions, not words' kind of RP character, I'd gladly sign him up for a server crossover. Thanks for taking this on, Halorin; it's quite a task.

Still interested. And, should it matter, Shadowfoe got to 34 last night. So it would be this way:

Not sure if you want to widen the qualifications for hero inclusion. In other words, I may be too low in level to participate. I am really interested in this. I've been looking forward to moving onto the "unofficial roleplay" server if they ever offer charater transfers.

Wow, heh. With all of the people signing up, it's starting to look like this won't be able to be just a few missions ran. Still on the drawing board. I'd rather do this right or not at all, so. We may have to split things up.

Stay tuned...
