I'm down to my last respec, and new epic powers are coming. Im a lvl 41 regen scrapper working to lvl 44. Should be 44 before the new powersets come out... But now I'm worried about regen changes. I can see me needing to reslot/rechoose powers. This state of affairs isnt fun, so here's my question... Once you've gotten all 3 respec badges, couldn't you just receive the respec reward on completion of the trial (no badge, no stacking of respecs). Yes, its infinite respec ability, but having to do the trial between each respec will keep the 'looseness' of its usage down, avoids the problems of the good ol' nerf, and actually increases the numbers of players willing to do the respec mission...

I don't want to dig up a dead horse and start beating it, and forgive me if it's already been mentioned (I haven't read through the entire thread yet), but to me, the +1 mobs are still a HUGE ISSUE. I still find myself outlevelling missions to make them doable, at the cost of some good XP and influence. There's nothing "heroic", IMHO, about having to go out 3 or 4 times during a mission to stock up on inspirations, in spite of the fact that many people here would consider that "strategy". Yesterday, for instance, I had a 5th Column mission. I decided to try it at the level I got it. In one room, THREE groups of yellow minions started to beat down on me. There was NO way to aggro just one group. They all attacked me (I'm a scrapper - no pulling by using ranged attacks). I used up an entire tray of inspirations, only taking down one group. I just thought "sod this" and exited.

Im an AR / Dev who , yes, does use his AoE attacks to great effect. All i can say to those who think AoE's need to be nerfed is this: Do you realize that 1 time in 10 we may come really close to dying? Plus the slow anim time on AR makes for some really sticky situations. Why change anything. Do I care that Regen scrappers or Invuln Tanks can take damage? NO. Do I care that Rad buffs make mobs into wusses? NO....that's thier jobs man. Leave em alone. My job is to blow stuff sky high with some carefully placed high explosive / projected fire! Take all that away from me and I become "Mr. Glass". Thanks a lot devs, but leave the powers alone, and fix existing "problems" that plague us everyday. Lag, Doors, meaningless travel, and a whole host of other real problems should be addressed first.

Leave powers as they are, or improve them. Dont Nerf anything most have come to rely on. It amazes me how ppl care so much about another AT's build by saying it's "unfair" or "imbalanced" NONSENSE!

Just do me a favour, find a way to kill the Lag Monster on Infinity. Lol

for an hour now, AN HOUR i have been reading this post. not gonna say im a speed reader but im damn well not as slow as this is taking, when i first started it was 13 pages it is now 21 and about 15/20 of all posts are scrapper related, why dont people understand that after 5-6 maybe at the most 10 hell never mind after 5 at the most posts on the same topic and no reply from the OP in this case being States. that you should drop the subject. or atleast complain about it on another thread, hell if i thought it would help i would have started a thread for it myself. yes we have the right to complain, yea i understand well how you feel after reading god knows how many posts on the subject, but after about the 30th i lost all the pity i felt for you guys posibly having your power set screwed ovr do to the fact that i havent seen any regen scrapers respecting the OPs post (apoligys to any that werent complaing about it and acctually didnt mind it) i have been through many nerfs playing Ultima Online and alot ofcourse i didnt like, nvr did i quit, i ended up quiting out of boredom of the game and came to play CoH, it happens, its part of MMORPGS get used to it or dont play. BTW he never said he was nerfing he said he was tweaking that has been posted by many other people and nobody gets it, and replys with a message that looks identical to 30 other ones.

As this is page 11, I'm not sure what my chances are on having any of my questions answered, but here goes nothing:

1. I haven't been able to pin down the exact details of the new epic archtypes, but could you tell me whether or not there are any plans to add powers to -existing- power pools? I have a level 40 scrapper who's taken pretty much every power in his primary and secondary that he cares to. Will he be able to pick new powers from those sets, or is his only option to pick pool powers?

2. I had thought Issue 3 would contain the new skills system, but now I'm reading that the skills will come post-Issue 3. Could you clarify?

I dont think its a real problem with powers as a such but i personally think we have a problem with enhancements.

I think we should have a cap on the amount of same enhancements we can have on one power. Say a max of 3 damage enhancements on a attack power.

Its the way we are maxing out our powers rather than the powers themselves that are leading to nerfs.

Throw in a max enhancement cap in issue 3 as well imo.

The whole Ranged support role is pure BS anyways. give me ONE instance in ANY mission, ANY team battle or task force where range is an issue?

Only if you got a team full of blaster and defenders.... which on difficult missions isn't viable. When if EVER are there missions where melee damage can't reliably subsitute for ranged damage? In fact remove the blasters from the equation and add tankers and scrappers and the whole need to kill quickly goes out the window. The only member of the team really benefitting from speedy deaths... is yes you guessed it Mr. glass cannon the blaster.

Statesman has said that alpha strikes are diminishing the role of whole AT's..... Well To that I say BLASTERS DON'T EVEN HAVE A ROLE IN TEAMS. unless you REALLY count my single target immobile as team enhancing. My AoE's are what make me valuable to a team and He wants to "balance" that... leaving me what to offer to a team? moral support? comic relief?

I'm just not getting it. If the blasters role is to speed up killing and the developers desire is slower more protracted battles....then theres a SERIOUS dissconect that needs to be resolved. If this is where the game is going... Either give blasters some defense... or just save everyone some aggravation and discontinue the AT. I could not in good faith suggest that ANYONE subject themselves to the fustration of being the games only worthless Archetype, past level 32. because that's where we're headed.

I have a feeling the "tweak" they are going to implement for regen is to make fast healing stronger and instant healing weaker so that you need fast healing six slotted + instant healing to get the same lvl of healing you are getting right now from instant healing alone... thats just a guess though

sucks bigtime though I think instant healing is fine as it is. but i wouldnt mind seeing the regen line get some good tweaks to powers like moment of glory, revive, etc.

Blasters don't have a role in teams? You're lvl 50 and never herded wolves using alpha strikes? Heck, most of my post 40 groups were blaster alpha strike groups (me emp defender). I'm not saying nerf alpha strikes. I don't really see a need for that. But lemme tell ya somethin. I played 45 lvls exclusively in groups with my emp defender (I semi-retired him when they changed PI a while back). About 90 percent of my groups were duoing with, or at least involving one or more, blasters.

How about going up against a Tank Smasher or Tank Swiper before a hold kicks in, or when a hold misses? Sure is nice to stay away from those big fat blades or that pbaoe disorient and still be able to do some damage. Until that Tank is in a hold, range is a good thing.

I think maybe you're being a little melodramatic.

Hoping to get a response on this one, juse a few questions regarding the Earth Control Powerset:

1) Earthquake - Any chance in getting a colour change to distinguish between friend or foe?

2) Animated Stone - I noticed you mention stone armour for tanks being looked at, would Stoney be included in this artwork change and if not, are you looking at it? Someone else in the thread mentioned the abilities of Stoney so i won't go into it

Random things to mention: Speaking as a female player, I'd like to point out that there are certain things we miss. Like having something more than a 'wide belt' as a skirt. What's the situation with the 'heavier fabrics' that were talked about when capes came out? Trenchcoats, skirts, et al? We really could use more costume bits.

Speaking as a super reflexes scrapper: I have a slight issue with Elude, as it essentially makes three of your powers more or less useless. This causes people to respec them away... and then they're horrible when exemplared. If they keep them, it takes forever to bring them back up when they drop from Elude going boom. It was stated once that Elude was a temporary fix, that SR was getting some love at some point in the future. I'd like to make sure that's still on the plate. It doesn't have to be now, but it would be appreciated. As it is, it encourages cookie-cutter characters (Got to have hasten (Perma-elude, to deal with the toggles dropping constantly), got to have stamina (So your recharge doesn't take forever), got to have tough (so you don't get one-shotted like a blaster), and that's just boring, being like everyone else.

You just get your little group of Devs together, tweak and twiddle away, and come up with something you think is "right." Then let me know. I'll play that character. I jumped back to my Regen scrapper after another toon got nerfed. Now your great big sledgehammer of "tweak" is coming for my Regen. Spectacular.

It's particularly bitter for Regen, since we have to go through 27 suck-[censored] levels just to get to a decent spot. Then we have a brief moment of feeling like, I dunno, a hero. Now that's gonna get ganked.

I think I am just gonna insted do reading on what build sounds the best and and survive on its own since that class always gets whacked by a nerf, but insted I will read on whats the absolutly crappiest build in the game and play as that. Since you know the only changes to your class are positive ones

well I play this game mostly to solo...IM a fire blaster and If I can no longer "have massive alpha strikes" lol....then there isnt much sense for me to continue......thats the whole point of my charecter.

I die ..alot...but I have fun.......if I can no longer kills lots of bad guys I will move on to something else.....I dont plan on starting over .....Ive been playing for months and am only 35 but have fun...but If I am suddenly gimped Ill simply move on.

Big AOE are blaster's only defenses beside Superspeed.

In high levels, I need to kill mobs before they :
1) OS me
2) Stun/Hold me

Only lvl 32 AOE or combos of BU+Aim+minor AOE do it.

Well, if you reduce it for scrappers, you make Unstoppable useless for scrappers and you better change Unyielding stance's immobility because I cannot group with a power that immobilize me even if I have teleport.

i was reading wildwind's post about regeneration rate beihn' all they have.....i have a lvl9 regen scrapper and his regen time sucks....my other characters heal faster

Stackable armors is NOT, repeat NOT, what the Ice tanker line needs. Check the Tanker forums : all 4 of us Ice tankers have started threads at some point explaining AT LENGTH the problem with Ice tankers : no mez protection. NONE. The Archetype is plain UNPLAYABLE and CAN be out-tanked by just about every type of scrapper and some controllers.

WHY would you look at a problem(point #6) that has work-arounds available to it before you would address the enormous problem Ice tankers face in having NO WAY of mitigating the continued problems of not being able to contribute to a team and not being able to play solo?

Don't get me wrong : I am happy for my Invulnerable bretherns and that the UYS problem is being addressed but they can teleport around to make their type playable and mitigate the "rooted" factor. What can the Ice tankers do besides team with a defender that can keep slapping Clear Mind on us? There is no way to "fix" our problem on our own. Ice tankers are not tankers. They are weak damage output scrappers with a bit more smashing defense....until they reach 32. Then we aren't needed, or necessary, on a team and we can't play solo since the effect is usually : sleep, toggle, dead.

PLEASE, Statesman, take two minutes and find out the problem with us Ice tankers(again the tanker forums have the info) before you give us a fix we Just. Don't. Need.
