Any bets on which primaries shine and which ones shudder? My vote for underdogs are electricity and ice.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ice, the underdog? Ice has the best single-target damage of any of the Blaster primaries..

Irrelevant to the point at hand, which is overall performance.

I quote Lewis Carroll's Mad Hatter: "But it was the BEST butter!"

I boggle that this thread still exists.

I'm not upset by it, mind you.

[/ QUOTE ]
It exists because players asked that threads with dev posts be maintained for possible reference quote use.

It does not exist to beat a dead horse. Start a fresh thread, please.

Yes, you must use a fresh dead horse... or is that a freshly dead horse? Damned if I can remember which horse this was.

I guess this means no one likes the % chance toggle drop idea.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I'd much rather see them improve the wonderful effects it already has than give it a slew more side effects that are mediocre...

Either that or quit muxing with it's effectiveness at least. That 1/4 effectiveness in PvP on end drain was a real kick in the teeth.

I'm not sure how they would go about improving on it, since the problems with end drain do not reside in the powers but in the characteristics of the mobs themselves. 'S why I thought it might be useful to tack on something else that's still thematic and would be useful.

Well, let me put it this way: a little more end drain on the standard attacks would be nice. I shouldn't have to slot for it just to SEE that it's having an effect.

But yeah, Short Circuit works quite nice.

I apologize if I come off as a forum fascist, but surely there is a way to succintly condense this sprawled-out thread into a Pilcrow-esque new OP that advances the central topic better?

No offense taken. Just me being an incorrigable goofball. As for organization, it'd probably be better if such a thread made it's debut on the Blaster forum in the first place, eh?

Okay I have been playing an elec/elec blaster since day one which is over a year and a half now and I have to admit that when i first played him I really enjoyed everything about him!

Over the course of time he has gotten weaker and weaker and it's down to now I don't play him much anymore. Before I changed his build for the final time to be effective in the Arena I had him geared towards end drain.

Power sink - 6 slotted for end drain(lvl 53 SO's)
Short Circuit - 6 slotted for end drain (lvl 53 SO's)
Lightning Field - 6 slotted for end drain (lvl 53 SO's)

I even had end drain on my holds

I could run into a mod of +1's and drain the group with SC,PS and LF in the end and it was fun. I made him into a ranged /drainer and had a blast (pun intended). I could solo +2 bosses with the drainers then holds, that was a year ago.

Now just before I changes the build I was having problems with every aspect of the toon. My attacks(6 slotted with dam/acc HO's) would miss more often then hit and when they did it wasn't for as much damage as it used to be.My end drain wasn't as effective(not even half) as it used to be leaving me to sit back with the defenders and basically worthless, and I still had the same penalties as before(low hp and defense).

So the Arena came along and I figured what the heck let's try the blapper melee thing. So after a year and a half playing TA as a ranged/drainer I rebuilt him into what he is now. I have never been as dissappointed in an elec/elec blaster as i am now. The Arena is a joke ( Literally) and PvE is just as bad. I know something needs to be done with the secondaries, they have always been weak but something has to be done to the whole set IMO.
Don't ask me to stop playing my character after so long (1600 hours logged just with TA) and don't tell me i can drain an AV because I can't. I have used every respec given and tryed to play him every way possible and my final conclussion is that elec blasters is definately due for some developer attention.

Regards,
TA LvL 50 elec/elec blaster

Excellent idea. Make it so.

I started a central electric blaster thread here if anyone is inclined to use it.
