If you are going to "fix" sb to make it easier to apply, could you do the same thing for density increase, clear mind, any kind of force fields, etc. (list every power in the game that needs to be applied to one teammate a time - sb is only one of them!).
[/ QUOTE ]
FF is 4 min while SB is only 2 mins and one of his suggestions was to make it 4 min just like FF
[ QUOTE ]
3) Increase speed boost's duration. Speed boost's duration is short because it's a powerful buff, but I don't see any real reason it couldn't be longer. It's trivially easy to keep SB "perma" on a team anyway; the only issue is how much time the /kin has to spend doing it, and I don't see why we couldn't shorten that time.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't like the AoE ones but I do like this one just make it 4 min would be fine with me
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be great. Problem is there has to be a trade off. Make it last twice as long = it will be half as effective.
The devs have explained this before. Powers are balanced based on end cost, duration, recharge, level of buff/debuff. In order to increase one, you have to decrease one of the others proportionally. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
If you don't enjoying buffing players then why are you picking buffing powers?
[/ QUOTE ] Makes sense to me. I don't have speed boost on my fire/kin controller.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm actually considering respecing out of it. Now that I can't put it on my pets for the +rechg it's kind of pointless for me to have it. -
Yes you have, you change siphon speed to a +rech +recov pbaoe and you force them to lower the effectiveness. The easier a buff is to use, the less benefit you get from it.
We disagreed with your idea and have explained why. -
There is nothing wrong with Speed Boost. The problem is not speed boost, the problem is the players yelling "SB PLZ". Just do what I do when I am on my kin, ignore em. They can type SBPLZ until thier fingers bleed and I won't sb them until. A-I have time to SB everyone, usually between fights. B-If I see they are really having a hard time with thier end levels. C-They are the tank, stone gets even higher priority.

PS.
Also notice how the mere discussion of such a group is already turning into a popularity contest of some sort. Could be an unpopularity contest as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Some people might see it that way, but I think the majority of people would be more like me. I don't care if you write for the scoop, if you are a member of perc, or if you have arranged parties and get together for the last 4 years. I just don't care. If you enjooy things like that then good for you. You are helping people and keeping yourself busy. But, none of the people who do any of these things have and kind of athuority to help with any kind of customer service issues. When it comes to customer support use fellow subscribers need to just butt out and let the people deal with the CS reps.
This is honestly just a bad idea. It should perhaps be locked before the popularity whiners show up and start flaming. -
Hate to say it, but this is actually not something we should even be suggesting. There is a Coustomer Service that works for NCSoft and that is all we need. Suggesting that there be a player judiciary committee just seems kind of pointless. Like it or not, Customer Service can only do so much for you, once you hit the max of what they can do you are asking for too much. Thats not thier fault. If you don't get what you want from them you are free to leave. Us players should not have ANY say whatsoever on Customer Service issues that does not apply to us personally.

I'm not sure which is worse ... The Op's suggestion, or people not agreeing with cheaper prices. I shop at WalMart cause it's cheap. If everything there was $5 more expensive for WalMart improvements, would you still shop there?

I'll take your money if you don't want it
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't shop around much do you? I buy very few things at wal-mart. It has nothing to do with wal-marts supposed business practices, I can just get a lot of things cheaper at other stores. I know people who only buy groceries at walmart. Only groceries I buy at walmart is my lipton tea and whenever I need something quick to finish a meal. Everything else can be found cheaper elsewhere. Don't even get me started on Wal-Mart's meat department.
[/ QUOTE ] I like to do my grocery shopping in one stop(except for good meat), and as a whole wal-mart is usually the cheapest. Sure various grocery stores have certain items cheaper, but I don't want to make four stops.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see what you are saying munki. Maybe in a larger town I would do the same thing. Where I live, in a three town area, we have three walmarts and four big grocery stores. It is cheaper for me to leave my house, hit Food 4 Less, Dillons, and Price Cutter in that order. All three have better meat, and I can find everything I need to feed my family for a week. YMMV, but thats just how I shop.
The whole "walmart is the cheapest place to shop" is no longer true. Under Sam Walton walmart was a wonderful place, not just to shop, to work at as well. His kids on the other hand have ruined it. -

I know the Air superiority one goes in Hover and fly, t should go in group fly, but don't quote me on that.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no Air Superiority set, that's the attack in the Flight pool, Wikked.

Your right, thats what I get for posting after a long day. I know I meant freebird, but for some reason I had Air Superiority stuck on the brain. -

Pretty sure they only have stealth IOs for the travel powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, yes, I just found some information about it. I wasn't familiar with it until just now. It's a rather special kind of enhancement I guess. A bit confusing about where you can put them and how they work exactly. Freebird: Stealth could be put on hover, air superiority, fly, or group fly? It will activate whenever you use one of those powers and add to your stealth for 120 seconds?
[/ QUOTE ]
I know the Air superiority one goes in Hover and fly, t should go in group fly, but don't quote me on that. Like I said, I have a celerity stealth in sprint. Mainly because I like to run sprint while in missions. Another thing is that, if you put an IO like the travel power stealth ones in a toggle it is active as long as the toggle is one then 120 seconds after the toggle is turned off. -

If you have ENOUGH stealth you can safely plant the bomb without drawing attention. Cloaking Device by itself will not be enough. However, as was already mentioned, if you stack a +Stealth IO or Superspeed with Cloaking Device you should be fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm basically a newbie here, but quick question: Can you put a stealth enhancement on cloaking device? I can't load into the game at the moment, but at the wiki it looks like it only takes Enhance Defense Buffs, Reduce Endurance Cost, and Increase Attack Rate. But I'm very shaky on the intricacies of the enhancement system.
[/ QUOTE ]

I run my blaster with a stealth IO in sprint, and cloaking device. Only thing that ever sees me are Rikti Drones.
I put it in sprint so I'm not stuck taking superspeed. This way I still have hover for the whole float like a butterfly, sting like a bee thing. -

well, we are already in a level pact. That and my girlfriend would always get mad when i played. I have 5 active toons also.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like you need a new girlfriend...
[/ QUOTE ]
Game trumps relationship? I don't think so.
[/ QUOTE ]
You misunderstand.
Not game instead of girlfriend. Its more, game instead of THAT girlfriend. There are lots of women out there who are ok with thier guys spending a few nights a week playing mmos. Not to mention there are even some who play the mmos with thier guy. My wife for example, plays this game with me. She even got to 50 before I did. -
We waited so long to get shields I guess we shouldn't be suprised someone would complain that they have to have a shield to use the set.
-
Also there is no way for the swords on your back to disappear when you draw your blades. That will result in you having your swords in your hand and still have the swords in the scabbards on your back.

[ QUOTE ]
Actually what Inokis mentions HAS been achieved.
With Wrath of the Lich King, they had what was called 'phasing' introduced.
Let's say I've just gone into a new area, now I'm going to help out Faction A to clear out the area and make for a safe staging ground into enemy territory because it means a new flight path would open up and I need to level through questing anyway.
When I arrive, the area is filled with unfriendly mobs in the midst of battle with Faction A, as the questline progresses, while at first there's very little in the staging ground, just a single named NPC and a load of guards, after doing a couple of quests, Faction A begins to gain a foothold thanks to my actions, a few vendors pop up, an NPC I saved becomes a quest giver...
As I continue to progress through the questline, Faction A eventually gain enough of a foothold to have a far far stronger presence than when I arrived, a flight path opens up, the area is now secure with no unfriendly mobs in that area and guard NPCs regularly patrol it.
Now let's say another player comes into the same area, while I see the final product of the questline, they will still only see the original starting version, they also won't be able to see ME because I'm 'phased out' with that version of the area, once they complete the questline, they become in the same phase as I am, thus can see me.
So what he's suggestion isn't beyond the realms of imagination, also phasing doesn't appear to put any new strain on the servers, I never noticed any lag or even any slow down when operating in areas that used the Phasing technology, even when said Phasing technology had an entire settlement appear after a long questline and the area was full of people (and I do mean LOADS of people, 100+ amount of people).
[/ QUOTE ]
So until everyone has gone through the questline you are pretty much playing a single player game?
You also need to remember that CoX has much more detailed and realistic graphics then WoW does, so it has a lot more thing to load. -
[ QUOTE ]
Agreed, but that's where the buzz is coming from....
[/ QUOTE ]
There is also a lot of buzz that we are getting power customization because the woman's fireball changes from red to blue. -
Ice/rad is my suggestion. Tons of fun there. Was actually the first troller I got to 50 without doing any kind of farming. Ice seems to lock things down better then fire or plant in my exsperience and you just can't go wrong with rad.
I understand your desire to stay damage heavy with another scrapper, but as a couple people have said, you are going to want the lock down and debuffs later in the game. Taking down some AVs or GMs is almost impossible without debuff from a rad. Not saying it can't be done, but I have seen damage heavy teams attack an AV or GM for a good 30 minutes and barely make a dent.
Not to mention said AV or GM breaking the tanks taunt and killing your scrapper or blaster. I always work my way into vengence on my rads so vengence+fallout+mutate the dead scrapper/blaster and your dps will jump significantly. -

[ QUOTE ]
My point: none of these changes really improve gameplay much, if at all. But they are nevertheless critical to keeping the game up to date and enjoyable.
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree. I also disagree with using "OHNOES COMPETITION" as a justification for any change.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except, that is exactly what is happening. Going Rouge is the change for competition. Letting heroes be villians, and villians be heroes.
I agree with some of the OPs suggestion, but my guess is, since power customization will be in Going Rouge, they already redid the graphical interface and game engine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing has been said about power customisation. That rumor is merely players jumping to conclusions because of a simple bit of symbalism in the Going Rogue trailer. -

Maybe just a quick smack with a regular tack hammer. -

Have you tried going into the power suppressed back room? No portal noise, and no player powers to distract and irritate.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have, and I could still hear the sound effects from players outside the room. Which is the main reason I avoid the "popular" MA zones, like Atlas.
[/ QUOTE ]
If all you are doing is working on an arc, why not just turn your sound off or down?
I can't understand asking for something to be changed that you can already control. -

The problem however, is that, players dont learn about good rikti till at least the Midnighters story arc. Granted that starts at level 10, but non-enemy Rikti are supposed to be a moderately well kept secret.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only because Vanguard has an iron pole up their collective... *cough*
Not gonna finish that sentence. Anyway, the way I see it, sooner or later the Traditionalists are gonna get sick of pretending they don't exist just so Vanguard can continue their "Hate All Rikti" ad campaign, and they're gonna take PR into their own hands.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which could be part of the issue that they reveal playable rikti. Maybe they can change the rikti raids in the issue before to have the good rikti show up and help the players fight off the bad rikti. Only problem I see is they will have to find a way to make the good rikti look less like the bad ones.
